  1. Finally got the chance to go back to my first MOC and do some little updates. I mainly did it because I felt that the facade looked a bit too bland compared to the other modulars so I tried to spice it up a little without changing too much. Moreover I also added a little more detail to the interior, mainly the living room. In addition I used the chance to take better pictures of the MOC itself. Next will be building instructions. :) Below is a selection of new images. All pictures can be found in the gallery: http://www.kawano.de.../townhouse.html New part count: 3231
  2. Talked to an employee in my local store in Hamburg, Germany. So far she hasn't heard anything about this being planned in the store.
  3. Wow this is amazing. Very clever building techniques used. I love the trees, the interior and the roof work!
  4. Thanks bradleybrand! Currently working on the building instructions btw. Soon the buildings should be available on rebrickable. :)
  5. That's a neat little city with nice details. What I like the most is the right balance between buildings, streets and other things like plants and trees. Well done!
  6. Another masterpiece!
  7. Wow! Now Thats what I call dedication. Truly amazing.
  8. Ugh.... if this hits Germany it means even less boxes in my local LEGO store in Hamburg... :/
  9. This is fantastic. Great build!
  10. You managed to perfectly capture the flair of a beach area restaurant. Very neat design and lovely interior. Another masterpiece!
  11. You just keep delivering amazing stuff like this. This is awesome.
  12. I only ordered once so far and had to back and forth serveral times during the payment process until the site really noticed that I properly filled out all fields in the first place. Judging from other eCom platforms it is pretty safe to say that the S@H site is quite terrible.
  13. I suggest the same. I wouldn't start by buying all baseplates for your final layout. Try to change your plan in that way that you will be able to increase the size of the city step by step.
  14. Wow this is outstanding. Would love to see it in real!
  15. This is beyond awesome.
  16. Charming! I like the style alot. Should look great next to your White Picket Fences! :)
  17. Thanks again for the nice comments! :) If you mean the lines on 2nd level of the bakery: They are actually dark green! :) I still need to improve my photography skills. ;(
  18. Finally managed to take some pictures of how the two buildings look next to other modulars:
  19. Each LEGO store can chose from a list of parts for their PAB wall. Not everything is available at all times, so yes, TLG somewhat controls what is within the PAB walls.
  20. Thanks everyone for the nice feedback and comments. I thought about another level while building it, but the building is already quite high compared to other modulars (around 4-5 bricks higher than Pet Shop). I'm going to take some pictures from the buildings next to other modulars during the next days for comparison. Regarding your question: I honestly never thought about using German. :D But, yeah "Fisch" wouldn't fit. :) I understand what you say and I thought about that as well when I designed them within LDD. But in real they look quite good and the structural parts are better visible. On my pictures the black looks like a big black plate without any structure. It's pretty difficult to take some good pictures. Thanks for the feature within your blog! I like reading it because I am pretty much a modular maniac as well. ;)
  21. This made me laugh pretty loud. You nailed it. Great work.
  22. Hey everyone, I'd like to share my second MOC: A modular bakery and fishmonger. Ever since I got the official Pet Shop I wanted to build a few 16*32 modulars which feature a shop on the lower level and apartments on the uppper levels and I started with a bakery and a fishmonger. Inspritation came from art decor buildings in my hometown Hamburg (unfortunately most were destroyed during WW2..). The bakery and cafe features indoor and outdoor seating and gives the very well know 'Larry the Barista' a new home. He lives above with a fancy open kitchen and a small terrace. The fishmonger is a family business. While the old geezer is mainly in the attic and likes to read old maps and dreams of finally finding that treasure he's been searching for all his life, his younger son is running the business downstairs. ---- Statistics: Part count bakery: 1849 Part count fishmonger: 1944 Total part count: 3793 Bricklink orders: 25 Design time in LDD: around 25h Biuld time: around 5h Here is a collection of images. All of the images can be found here: http://www.kawano.de...fishmonger.html
  23. I keep coming back to this thread and capture myself looking at the pictures for the 10th time but I never managed to tell you how amazing this is. I love it.
  24. You really managed to capture the real building very well. I like it!
  25. This is lovely, especially when seeing it together with the modulars. I think I will build some sort of city square for my modulars as well! :) It does need a few more minifigs though IMO. :)
