Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
peedeejay replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Who says police stations can not have stunning architecture? :) If it really is one, I would have to think a lot whether I want to put it into my city since I already built my own. -
So cool! Now build the rest of it! ;-)

Charming little build!

To those who buy custom instructions: I want to ask you something
peedeejay replied to jedisquidward's topic in LEGO Town
Gauging interest is very very difficult. The market for custom building instructions is a very special market and also quite small. Unless you have a small customer base (which you need to build ober years), there is no good way of gauging interest. Especially not on a forum, where most people are MOCers themselves which reduces the possibility of them buying custom instructions. Just build what you like. Create an instruction if you like, then put it on Rebrickable and see what happens. :) -
Looks good! I like the ground floor the most.

MOC: Elvendale and the Dragon Sanctuary (pic heavy)

Wow! So much creativity. I don‘t know where to look at. Every part of this build is so enjoyable! -
Thank you for your review Terry! I really enjoy how you take your time to discuss every detail. You also spotted quite a few things that I would do different if I were to build it again nowadays: - The SNOT walls at the side are a bit loose: Unfortunately the SNOT'ing is necessary to achive the effect with the tiles and antistud 1x1's at the side, but I tweaked the technique in the meantime with my Police Station. - The upper parts of the staircase rails always falling off when trying to put the model together: I have to admit, it is driving me nuts as well. :D By the way, I checked again why you are not able to place the small wall part at the roof. My guess is you used 1x1 brick with studs on two side and not on one side at page 84 of book 3. Other than that I don't see how it shouldn't be possible. Moreover I have updated the instruction in the meantime to a version 1.2, which replaces the dark tan arches on the inside with dark bluish grey ones, since they really did become expensive in the meantime. I also fixed the problem with the slops on the middle level. Anyway, thanks again!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Having build three if the possible mentions here myself, a casino, a school and a police station, I could only see the latter. A casino will never happen because of the gambling aspect as mentioned and a school seems almost impossible with the size snd part count restrictions. A police station however could work. -
Lovely! So many great details!

Very cool! Love the interior details!

Very cool with a lot of nice details!

As I said on instagram already, this is almost perfection. I keep looking at the build almost daily and am still admiring everything about it! :)

Cool! I really like the window framing. Such a pity that the technqiue blocks parts of the windows on the inside with the brackets. However I don't see any other way to achieve it at the moment.

Solid build! I think your builds would look even better if you were to add at least one additional brick in height to each floor. :)
