MOC: First class lounge - Terminal 1 - Idlebrick Airport
ReplicaOfLife replied to snaillad's topic in LEGO Town
Greyt work, as usual with what you're doing :) My favorite part is the bar counter and the various snot stuff. -
What a way to introduce yourself. Great buildings throughout, though I agree with the black/sand-green color clash. But that's really the only negative thing I can find. My two favorites are propably the dark orange/light blue and the red/tan building.

Already saw this on flickr. What a nice twist on a classic building. Really dig the exterior design on the upper levels. Not sure if I like the omission of the tower, the corner window looks off a bit. What really steals the show is the interior, though. Love all the details and general design of the rooms and also the cafe. When I built my own version of CC, I ade an interior for the cafe but not for the upper floors. Compared to my solution, yours looks a lot sleeker.

Saint Quentin (France) Town Hall, Theater, Basilica, and much more
ReplicaOfLife replied to Anio's topic in LEGO Town
Magnifique! Truly astonishing models, especially the Town Hall & the threatre! -
Nice work. Lime is a pretty tough color to use sensibly, but you pulled it off. Kudos!

Not familiar with the character, but those are some neat interiors! I always struggle doing these, so admire yours all the more.

Great layout, looks really thought through, and it's detailed lovely! awesome train-related MOCs aswell, and the old Octan gas station got a nice rework too!
-
Nice work. I got three of this sets sitting MISB here. I'll propably build one as per the instructions, but just for fun. All three will be parted out to source parts for my next modular. It won't have anything in common with this set, though, except for the predominant dark orange.

Great build! Those corner pillars are a nice idea!
-
Nicely done. The right building is true to the Pet Shop style, while the left is something I wish TLG would have done for one half of the DO.

This is a brilliant MOC. You can still see the buildings of this kind of old gas stations around today. Most are converted to other uses now, in most cases used car dealerships or small workshops. Your MOC perfectly evokes the flair of a1950ies/1960ies gas station. All thumbs up! Also, nice part usage throughout. Love those old 6x5 windows, really want to get some of those one day. What did you use for the blinds in the windows? Looks like police station window stickers?

[MOC] Modular Book Loft, Ice Cream Shoppe and Music Store
ReplicaOfLife replied to toorayay's topic in LEGO Town
Interesting build. Really like the interiors! The part over the music store feels a bit oversized to me, though, it dwarves the rest of the building a bit. -
Nice mashup of the two modulars!

Nice building! And what a dazzling number of 1x2 plates you must've used up in it. Not just the outside, but all the 'books' aswell. Black as the main color is a bold choice, but works out ok here

3 Modular Houses - old & modern, with Kwik-E-Mart, TBBT and more
ReplicaOfLife replied to cimddwc's topic in LEGO Town
Your builds just continue to be amazing. I like the Kwik-E-Mart building best, but the other two are great aswell, especially the sand green one. I really need to get my hands on some bricks in that color. And I really admire your knack for doing interiors. They are always so detailed and imaginative...makes me really jealous. Edit: And nice joke with the junk & antique shop. Didn't really get that on the first view -
Brilliant.

Fantastic work. Love the details on the facades. Not sure about the 'No Filth' sign, though. While brilliantly executed (!), its deeper meaning eludes me.
-
LegoSjaak, thank you. Glad you like them. I love MOCing, but it's a slow process... right now I'm designing my fourth one. :) If you do change the other pillars, be sure to take a picture and share it with us.
-
Nice work, LegoSjaak. The bank looks really stately. I'll change the corner pillar to a round one aswell, looks much better, even though it fucks up the symmetry a bit. But only having the grill effect on one side bothered me from the start when the first pictures came out.

What is commonly known as 'light bluish grey' is officially called 'Medium Stone Grey' by Lego. There is a color called 'Light Stone Grey' (Lego) / 'Very Light Bluish Grey' (BL) that is even brighter, but as far as I know it almost only exists as a color for minifig and boinicle parts.
-
Looks really neat, all of it. I think your reddish brown take on Market Street looks far superior than the original.
-
Very nice building. I especially like the exterior and the bar. The upstairs interior is brilliantly executed aswell.
-
Nice designs, I especially like the tavern and the tri business block. The latter has a very basic similarity to the DO in terms of overall shape, so it would very nice next to it, methinks
-
What I always liked about them is when the designer layed out some of his thoughts and ideas that went into the building...or just special parts of the build or rare parts/colors he pointed out. I like getting background info. The last ones I saw didn't really do that though, they were more like detailed commercials checking off the points also mentioned in the set's written description.

Amazing. Great work!
