Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Sinthoras replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
An advertisement flyer popped up with a silhouette of the new car and it looks more like an Aston Martin Vanquish than DB5. -
I'm a huge fan of the discworld by Terry Pratchett, Tolkien's world (don't forget Mr Bliss) and Stanislaw Lem's books. Lately I got into The Orville by MacFarlane.

Perhaps we see a set or two for Matt Groening's Disenchantment this or next year. We already got The Simpsons in Lego form, why not his new series.
-
I don't think there will be a revival of racers. We have Speed Champions in small scale, Creator Expert Vehicles for large scale, the Supercar Technic line, and for wacky cars with characters you get Ninjago and Nexo Knights. Even City has the Grand Vehicle Subtheme and I almost forgot the pullback Technic sets, therefore I can't see the need for a Racers revival.

One of my fovourite MOCs is Bob De Quatre's LJ-937 Wormhole Explorer. I love this spacecraft and his short backstory. And when you mention Chris Giddens he created a great remake of the allied avenger.

The Great Wall of China is really nice. Two towers, one on a mountain, the other on the slope, the tan wall curving down. I guess 32 studs long and the hill is a substantial build. But I really love the Statue of Liberty. Great detail on the pedestal.

I actually think that Chima was important for LEGO in the evolution of set design and its influence on other lines.

One thing I'm not very happy about is the increase in licensed LEGO Duplo sets. I don't think 2-5 year old kids should be influenced that way. Especially a Jurassic World theme is not appropriate. Don't get me wrong a Dino set is great but not this license.

At least we know, that we will get a space themed gift with purchase set in 2019 from the LEGO moments in space contest.

Next year is 40th anniversary of classic space. The last years were pretty bad for space fans,so: The darkest hours are before dawn.

JANGBRICKS had it in his city next to a few modular buildings.

I really like the Claas like tractor and the caravan. But most of all the tree costume is genius. this piece screams "Asterix and the Big Fight" to me, when the Roman spy was hiding in the tree with the owl on the branch.

The best thing in this set is the new rail system. I will buy one copy of the set and try to create a suspension railway.

I really like this model very much. In this scale you captured all the curves brilliantly and the color choice is great. I doubt that the model would gain anything if the white would be substituted with silver or pearl grey. I am happy that you omitted the bridge crossing the building. All in all a very impressive and beautiful build.

Technic 2018 set discussion
Sinthoras replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A world rally car would be awesome as it has to have four wheel drive, independent suspension and a gearbox. At long last a worthy successor for 8880. -
21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)
Sinthoras replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego used this technique extensively in the USS Constellation set 398 back in 1978. All the canons on deck are connected with a jumper plate wedged between studs. -

Mark Stafford took pictures of the Inside Lego Tour and posted them on twitter. Among other things there is a M-Tron Saturn V. -
Sailboat rescue is pretty disappointing in my opinion. German shop has photo up. http://www.familienshopping24.de/City-Segelboot-in-Not

And just 3 seconds later at 1:54 you can see a sailing yacht in the background with green sail. That could be the missing coast guard set.

Today is Lego World and Dirk from 1000steine.de has a photolivestream, where a jungle build can be seen, perhaps the retail limited for the jungle subtheme.
