Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
PastVPresent replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
They have a new Creator website with what I believe is a new creator video Been scouring it for clues with no luck but maybe someone has better eye than me: http://www.lego.com/en-us/creator -
These are all great, sorry the month is coming to an end soon...hope Lego hires you to keep doing this! Amazing detail in the Japense Garden by the way - know the tree was mentioned, but i really like what you did with the pagoda too Also I can imagine the architect would fit perfectly into lots of different construction scenes in city layouts Great work!

I hope so -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

When I think about corner buildings two things quickly come to mind: A Bank (example http://www.phillyliving.com/images/blogs/2013/01/DSCF1999.jpg) - could be different styles too, maybe art deco A Corner Store (example http://sametomorrow.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/corner-store.jpg) - could be deli/grocery/convenience store with anything above like apartments or offices Whatever Lego goes with, I cant wait! -
MOC: City Layout - with new motorized Square Tram & Ferris Wheel
PastVPresent replied to Zusammengebaut's topic in LEGO Town
Great city - looks like you've been busy since building 60097! Between the tram, hot dog cart, and coffee stand, 60097 really seems to provide a lot of stuff that integrates well with the modulars and helps bring life to the streets. I also really like your tram tracks, nice work! -
Love this grill! Would definitely buy it and would also make great giveaway if/when Lego releases another large Creator house, can't wait to see your next build Yooha!
-
I just built 60095 (Deep Sea Exploration) and really enjoyed the build as well as the look of the finished product. I usually spend my money on creator expert sets or mocs, not City sets, so ended up being very pleasantly surprised when I got this as a gift and realized how much fun it was - brought back great memories of the old Divers sets although i think this new line is an improvement, feels very realistic!

This looks great! I really like the bookshelf/loft at the artist studio, all the "glass" work at the roof deck, rear porches, and the really clean yet detailed facade - excellent work, thanks for sharing!

Great collection! I would definitely be interested in a few of the larger sets if you decide to split it up- 45 replies

Very nice - really great how you got multiple business on the ground floor and cool treadmills above all with an excellent facade and landscape outside!
-
Agreed with a above, great moc - adidas sign, brick floors, and mirrored walls all look great! Also really like the storefront display windows!

How do you display your modular building collection?

LegoSjaak, that tiled plaza looks great! Really like the trees and flower planter - gives it a very finished look -

DrJosephMosch, this looks great - love all the detail and humor, the park makes a really nice addition to the street too -
Yeah I took a pic, here it is: Sorry about linking/quality - trying to do this all from my phone

Hotel is already for sale at Legoland Billund store, looks like a great set
-
I'm at Legoland Billund now and they are already selling the heavy haul train in the store here - it feels like a pretty substantial set (and it does include the helicopter)
-
Every one of these is incredible - really love all of the facade detail and really impressed by the scale of the high-rise, great work!
-
Looks great! I think the official modular series could really use a train station and your design is excellent - I could see this fitting right in to so many modular/train layouts very well so good luck on ideas!
-
Very nice moc/mod Sollx - I always thought the DO building over Al's looked too narrow - mirroring it like you did really helps make the massing and street wall feel better, cool idea. I also tried turning the original set into a modular (feels like a great place to start) and adding bricks like you did definitely helps - really like your idea of keeping the original feel on the ground floor and then expanding up with additional brics, nice work!
-
Very nice looking modular! I like all the unique detailing/parts use on the front facade (swords, fish, robot arms, 1x1 rounds, etc), restaurant wall panel decoration behind glass, and the small but very complete/realistic apartment - lots of details all work together very well!
-
Incredible! The design of any individual piece alone (bus body, pf/steering systems, or masts) would be impressive but together its just great - hope a lot of train folks come over to this forum to see this as well!
-
Really nice clean building - not only is the supermarket and facade great, but lots of great detail in apartments above too (like tribal mask wall decoration) - your city is looking great!
-
Really incredible, so many amazing details I dont even know where to start but I really like the roof, window and wall details, not to mention the wok, lanterns, and car, great work!

stevkir, i think thats a great idea, thanks - I went into a couple of real life subway stations this weekend and thats how they all seemed to work (entrance on sidewalk, tunnel under street). It should also work well in lego (could be very clean to have elevated "road modules" with subway underneath separate from the building modules) - so as soon as I have the room I'll give it a shot. In the meantime, I did order some lights for the station so at least its visible:

Ive been doing some research on aftermarket solutions (since official Lego options seem to be limited) and read good things about both brickstuff and lifelites' systems/lights - just ordered some and looking forward to seeing how they work
