  1. Now that looks like a pretty repetitive build!
  2. Not strictly technicopedia-related, but on a similar theme, did anyone spot this? http://www.lego.com/en-us/technic/history-page
  3. That's the plan, though I haven't quite worked out how I will go about including those where a single designer has a vast and well-structured index of their own already!
  4. Good find - I've added it to 42038's entry. I've also added entries for 42036 & 42037. Running total: 49 C-models from 12 sets.

  8. Both of these look fantastic - well done! I think the green/white livery could be improved even further by putting white stickers over the green front wheel arches, but that's really a minor niggle. Excellent work.
  9. Nice review. In the roundup at the end I would put "instructions are much more demanding" firmly into the "pros" column!
  10. Wow, looks fantastic - welcome to Eurobricks! I've added it to the C-Model Index - if you come up with a preferred title, or ever get as far as adding instructions or a video, let me know (here) and I'll update the entry.

  12. Thanks, have added those to 9398's entry. Also added an entry for 42000 Grand Prix Racer today. EDIT: and 42035 Mining Truck. Progress report: So far documented: 43 C-models from 9 sets; Still to go: [27 known C-models from 13 sets] + [any one-set C-models from TC5] + [the vast collections in the personal indexes of jono.rocky, rumpletump, Tomik & grohl666] + [any more undiscovered] + [any more in progress and to be designed!]

  14. A couple of replies to users who posted on the Index, rather than here: Hi Sandeep, welcome to Eurobricks. An interesting idea, but I'm not sure it fits the central reason for the topic. I'm open to giving it a go if there's enough demand for it, but I wonder if this might work better as a separate "Ultimate Model Index"? - Perhaps someone else would like to take on that task?! No problem, will do - I added it because it was too good to miss. I look forward to seeing it in its full glory - perhaps give it a full topic of its own?
  15. Some might argue there's a difference between historical actions and ongoing ones. Anyway, the point was that given TLG's usual avoidance of weaponry, war machines, etc, they might choose to leave out the likes of Cat in order to avoid a potential controversy. Or they might not - it's up to them. (And in my book, human rights violations are a good thing not to get over, lest they propagate )
  16. Ah yes, I thought there was another, but couldn't find it. Good thing we're building an index, eh? Nice work, hadn't seen that one before.
  17. A couple more sets added to the index today - slow progress, I'm afraid, as real life keeps getting in the way. Prolific C-modellers with their own indexes, I'll have to think of a suitable way of adding all or your creations which keeps the workload manageable. Possibly just a mosaic of thumbs linked to your own indexes will be the most straightforward... (P.s. given the slow-updating nature of this project, if there are particular sets you'd like to see addressed sooner, just let me know.)

  20. Fair enough, was just a suggestion as to why they might not show up in Lego - but that's a question for TLG, not me! Let's leave it there and get back on topic.
  21. (I don't wish to derail the thread, so if anyone genuinely wants to know more feel free to PM me.) In short, because they have a long history of advertising and selling armoured bulldozers to militaries and in conflict zones. The most high profile case is the Israeli military using them to flatten Palestinian homes. Given TLG's usual avoidance of weapons and military machinery, I imagine they might steer clear. You're right though, the vast majority of the time we just see a familiar brand and think of cool yellow machines.
  22. I don't know that Caterpillar would pass TLG's ethics committee...
  23. Due to them being the same company? Took me a while to figure that out too
