Thanks - that's an entertaining one! Good to see a few more C-models for the 2016 sets starting to materialise. Looking at your youtube link also led me to this from MrTekneex:
-
A couple of minor updates: C-models added to entries for 42042 and 42043; New posts added for 42021 (2 C-models) and 42022 (3 C-models); Running total: 74 C-models documented from 16 sets; Running total still to be added: 36 C-models from a further 14 sets (not counting those single user indexes from the likes of Tomik, grohl666, rumpletump & jono.rocky, which I haven't forgotten about). Does anyone know a way of getting the post editor on this forum into an html (or html-like) mode? Before the forum upgrade, I had it set up beautifully so that my spreadsheet would output a bunch of formatted text which would convert perfectly into a fully-formed post when entered into the forum. Now, however, all of that functionality is broken (i.e. I have to manually edit every single link), and worse, I can't always tell when it's broken, because I can't see the formatting...

Audi S1 Quattro by dokludi
Josephiah replied to dokludi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice! That rear end is making me want to go and play Colin McRae Rally - you won this car for beating the championship, if I recall correctly. -
Just wanted to add to the chorus of praise for this model - just built it the other week. It's a very enjoyable and interesting build; well worth the money for the instructions. As others have mentioned, it's the way that the sliding/pivoting mechanisms at the rear all work together that is just wonderful.
-
I suspect you are quite right: the Mindstorms set (which if our theory is correct was probably singular!) has also gone now.
-
Apologies if this isn't the place for it, but for UK technic fans it's well worth checking out the prices on asda direct just now (e.g. Arocs £111, Claas £80, heavy lift helicopter £68, mindstorms £183). Google shopping results don't seem to find these, so well hidden...

Impossible LEGO
Josephiah replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the suggestions folks. Had another go at it today, and didn't need to break out the toolbox in the end. Heated it up in hot water to expand/loosen the joint, then wrapped in a towel to get enough grip without ripping my fingernails off! And no damage to the parts - bonus. -
Lancia Delta S4 by dokludi
Josephiah replied to dokludi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As others have posted, love the interior (especially the roll cage and engine details) and functions, but a bit unconvinced by the external panelling. The view straight onto the rear is pretty accurate though. -
That's a pretty cool one - though I imagine getting the timings and positioning right for the cups to pass the balls reliably would be a pain!

I have a contender (from disassembling the 8480 sub the other day, so this is from official instructions!): Any ideas? Genuinely at a loss as to how to separate them. Possibly (gently) heating them would help... -

Thanks for the suggestions guys - some already on my list, others new to me. Keep 'em coming, and I'll try and get round to another update before too long. (Though life is a bit crazy at the moment - our family size just increased by two! )

Just saw this in the hall of fame, and don't know why it didn't get more attention - this is fantastic!

Difference between C & D models?
Josephiah replied to teos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Some people call their 2nd C-model of a given set a D-model, just to differentiate it from the first. I don't think there's any technical difference - just down to individual builders. For the C-model index, I just call them all C-models, as it doesn't make sense to start incrementing the letters when it's a collection of MOCs from different builders.- 3 replies

Yep, thanks, already on my list. They'll get added when I get round to writing the posts for those sets. I think they're among my favourite C-models so far
-
First update to the C-Model Index in ages: Sorted out the broken index links in the first post (presumably a casualty of the recent forum upgrade); 12 C-models added (to the sets which already have topic entries); Running total: 61 C-models documented from 12 sets; I've also been through this topic and added all the C-models mentioned into my spreadsheet for future updates; Running total still to be added: 42 C-models from a further 17 sets (not counting those single user indexes from the likes of Tomik, grohl666, rumpletump & jono.rocky, which I haven't forgotten about. Happy building! Edit: J_C has helpfully pointed out a bunch of my new links are dead - probably just me not being used to the new post editor. Working on it... Edit 2: Should be working now - let me know if you find any more broken ones.
