  1. Awesome, thanks! No way was I going to the mall where my Lego store is anytime near Black Friday.
  2. Is the snow globe only available with in store purchase or can you get it via shop@home?
  3. I love the art deco style! The taxi has some nice details and the trolley is really wonderful. I like how well you were able to convey the whole notion of a floating chunk of city.
  4. Ah nerts, I missed that. Oh well, my build for week 63 should be that much better!
  5. Location: H04 Crofter's Ridge Tags: Land Vehicle, Science Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // ED-208 and I headed out to one of the Biomass pump monitoring stations, it was nice to be back with him. Work had been keeping me busy and with all the concerns I've had with the lab mission I've not seen him much. I left the still unnamed robo-dog behind, which ED-208 surprisingly seemed to prefer. He said that something seemed wrong with the robo-dog. I thought maybe he was jealous, though his AI doesn't support that ability, but he said that in reviewing the robo-dog's backup he noticed that it was running an export only version of Octansoft and had numerous encrypted sections. I assured him that I would look into it when we got back and he said he would make sure I was safe. Luckily there was a field service vehicle available for the trip out to the station, I prefer the quiet time of the drive as it gives me a chance to reflect. Taking a shuttle out is faster, but there is too much activity and noise to really concentrate. Despite being a very utilitarian vehicle it suited its purpose and got me where I needed to go. The station was operating at proper efficiency and all of the filters still had plenty of service life left. I noticed that the pumping levels were decreasing so I believe we'll only get 6 months out of this particular field before having to move on. The maintenance robots have been doing a fantastic job of keeping the site clean, I wish there was a way to reward them. Hard to believe some other corporations have humans still do the menial task. I was happy to see that Dr. Long seems back in good health and has been helping aliens throughout the galaxy. I'm sure that the aliens appreciate having such an efficient and intelligent person working with them. Hopefully before too long our paths cross again! Extra Pics:
  6. I'll buy something if I can get Revan, otherwise won't. I'm hoping Revan isn't in super limited supply though, I am not going to go online at midnight just to get it. I'll hop on when I get up and try.
  7. 114 Credits to Jody Meyer and then I believe he would like the corporate seal.
  8. I've got a plot developing with the dog. Partially this storyline came about from recently adopting 2 kittens. But a dog seemed a more plausible companion when out and about.
  9. Always look forward to your reviews, even after the fact! IMO maybe the best CMF release yet and some fantastic detailing. I love the babysitter and the wildlife photographer. About the only one I felt disappointed with was the pirate really, but I'm not much into that line and the accessories felt boring since they are so common.
  10. Location: H04 Crofter's Ridge Tags: Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // I decided to head down to one of our data monitoring stations and see for myself if everything was working properly. We need to be sure that the data we work with is accurate! I thought it would be best to take Dr. Allison along since I've come to rely upon her expertise. Upon arriving it seemed like everything was set up properly and recording correctly. We climbed to the roof to have a look around the area and make sure nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I'd brought along the robotic dog and it seemed upset it was unable to climb the ladder. Dr. Allison said I needed to give it a name also, since she didn't like just calling it "robot dog". I'm less prone to sentimental attachment so I told her she could give it a name, she said she would think of a good one. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, which was somehow strange. I would, of course, prefer all our equipment work flawlessly! And yet in this instance I was seeking an answer and still had none. It was tough though because being unable to share with Dr. Allison my motives meant she couldn't understand my disappointment at finding all of our data gathering fully functional. Above Shot:
  11. Very nice and functional looking. A couple small things I might do is to tile the roof of the truck so it is smooth like the rest. Also on the extendable light on the rear of the truck I might either add a 2nd light or something on the hinge brick just so it seems less "unfinished". Love all the hidden details behind the doors and the trailer is really cool too.
  12. Tennis would be much more exciting this way! I love the dialogue and certainly reminds me of how I sometimes find myself wondering if the things we determine based on small sets of info would even be remotely close if we had a way to travel back in time and see how things really were.
  13. A lovely and vibrant MOC. Great color choices and so much action throughout -- plus you wove a delightful narrative. Love it!
  14. Would be cool to see the original build and then both Rebel/Empire builds. Even without official results, would be fun to see how close/far we were.
  15. Really great lab. I am a bit concerned for the diver who seems to be holding their breath...
  16. Emily: "Alright, so, I know you're no athlete, so let's do this like science and throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks!" Dr. Long: "That's not how science works." These Olympics have been fun as a kind of "fish out of water" thing. I mean, when would you ever have Kodan or Dr Long actually competing in sports?
  17. Great looking sub. The only thing I might suggest is making the one area that is just yellow wall have a bit of greeble or something there. It stands out a bit as is and seems rather slab sided. The rest of the sub comes across as so purpose driven. Maybe even a window or something. But a very nice upgrade on the original.
  18. Brilliant model and packed with lovely detailing. Has enough greebling and detailing without losing the overall smoothness. Particularly a fan of the launched escape pods, a very clever little reference built in.
  19. Location: H04 Crofter's Ridge Tags: Civil Building, Land Vehicle, Science Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // I was still concerned for the data inconsistencies that had arisen from my most recent work in the supposed destruction of the lab. I'd carefully checked and re-checked the data to look for any sign that the lab had in fact been obliterated. I knew that I should trust the team I had been with, they certainly had never given me any reason not to! But as a man of science I couldn't reconcile the facts versus what I had been told. I was still pondering it as I resumed my work. I went down to the Advanced Research lab and checked over the latest readings from our energy generation equipment, the efficiency is next generation compared to our current methods. We still need to make sure of the long term viability and the safety of it, but thus far the results are extremely promising. Once we validate all of our current data, the next step is to work on making things smaller and easier to mass produce. I found myself so engrossed in my work that I had forgotten all about my concerns with the lab destruction. Until I was suddenly reminded when I was told I had a delivery from The Major and his team! I went to the loading area where shipments come in and go out and found a rather odd situation. There was a worker that had a much larger gift than I expected. I was thinking there would perhaps be a small box for me, but alas I found a large robot animal. The driver said that it was programmed to be a companion and that The Major himself had selected it for me! This was clearly a sign of how much they valued my contribution on the mission and how much respect they had for me. As a robotics specialist it was really a great selection. I'm sure The Major knew how thrilled I would be with the robot and had carefully selected it. Apparently it was meant to have a roughly canine shape to facilitate human-robot bonding and was capable of traversing all different terrain. It even had a feature that reported performance and status information back to the manufacturer so that it could be given updates and also know when it needed servicing! What a forward thinking feature! I was very excited to have the wonderful gift and couldn't wait to show Dr. Allison and ED-208. I knew I couldn't tell them about the mission, but showing them this would clearly indicate how much my contributions had been valued. Extra Pics:
  20. Knowing that I am not a natural athlete, I decided to enter a competition more in line with my skill set: fencing. The mental battle was certainly something I felt better prepared for. I joined the less lethal "Stun" level, where you receive ever stronger levels of shock as you lose points to your opponent. On the flip side retreating becomes less of an option with the Pink Crested Scorpions at each end that deliver a non-lethal but painful sting that also gets worse the more you are stung. Most people say that after your 3rd sting the hallucinations begin to set in and that by the 5th sting you won't be able to stand up. So while this particular fencing event may not be as deadly as others, it is by no means considered a safe choice. My Kawashita opponent might have an advantage coming from a more warrior oriented background, but I'm sure my mental advantage will be sufficient to give me the edge I need.
  21. Wow, I'm wondering if I now have to redo my own since I pretty much did the same thing for mine.
  22. Wow, this comes off like a comic book! Great dialogue and action scenes, fantastic posing and faces. While I'm rooting against the Rebels in the episode I really hope to see lots more builds from you.
  23. It seems like suddenly everyone was tasked with becoming a detective. I'd been briefed in and told to start looking for clues and doing what I could to help support the Empire's search. Having been a member of the ISB I was at least somewhat trained for the job, though I was no data analyst or bounty hunter. I thought I had best reach out to someone I'd worked with in the past, Commander Bennett. He and I had done a few missions a while back and he always proved himself a smart fellow, one that you could tell had been promoted for competence rather than due to connections or time on the job. Currently posted to a "Space Research Facility" it wouldn't be hard to get out to him. I'm not sure why we bother to call them anything other than a listening post, the Rebels knew what they were as much as us. They sat out in space collecting data, monitoring merchant vessels, and constantly keeping an eye on activity. Commander Bennett was well suited to the task, an analytical mind and a great deal of patience meant he could see things others missed. I hopped a shuttle out to his location and as we approached he sent word to join him on my arrival. I met him in the main monitoring control center and we exchanged the usual pleasantries. He knew why I was there and he said that the chatter had picked up recently. The tough part for his team was to filter out the gossip and embellishments from the truth. I shared what I knew and could tell from the look in his eye that his brain was trying to put pieces together and solve this puzzle. I wasn't sure we had enough parts to guess at the end picture yet, but my hope was that with collaboration that we would eventually find the string that unraveled it all.
  24. A small speeder, the Banshee is little more than an engine and a seat. The concept from the start was speed and agility, there are no safety features. The pilots wear a helmet out of a lack of windscreen more than for protection - in the Banshee there are no "small" crashes. Many have called the Banshee a widowmaker because of the reputation for lethality, but it is a very rewarding choice for those capable of piloting it. The speed is instant, the reaction time is nearly telepathic, the power to weight ratio is 2:1, all creating a recipe for an unmatched performer. The Banshee is the answer to the question of what could be built if money was no object. The craft, despite the dimunitive size, costs on par with small spaceships. The best systems were pulled together and then made better. The best parts were chosen and then made lighter. The materials used are all very exotic and mating many of the different kinds together presented numerous challenges that were eventually overcome, but also added to the overall development cost. Though each Banshee is only slightly profitable, it is said that Octan's accountants were kept away from the project, and thus it survived. Some have commented that this would be an ideal special forces insert/extraction platform, but Octan has denied it has been used outside of racing. Grid:
