Kodan wouldn't knowingly be involved in espionage. Spying though could be innocent enough if portrayed to him properly!

Episode XIII: Setting of the Black Sun

I'll take the tag please. Thanks for the great challenge and the fast judging. Congrats to all the builders, some really fantastic and creative entries. Nice to see the individuality while keeping to the SW feel. -
Future of AG - It's feedback time!
Kodan Black replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
I am probably as guilty of building to the bonuses as anyone, the flip side is that I also feel compelled to build to them to maximize benefit of my build. But that may just be individual guilt. I don't love removing the score as it feels cheap that I may toss something together because I have only a small amount of time (last week due to SoNE deadline for instance) and someone else puts in 2 weeks to create a work of art. I know in the past there has been concern over the scores, but I would say overall I cannot ever remember it being more than a point which in the grand scheme ends up being meaningless. A 3 vs 4 is close enough you could make an argument. And I have the formulaic build as it seems to ruin creativity. Generally AG is pretty ok as is, I think making some things simpler is good and maybe decreasing some of the elements where things feel forced. I'm excited for AG2 and hope it both brings back some of those who we haven't seen lately and also brings in new folks. To reference pombe's concern over low point builds, I think that those getting 2-3 pt builds, like I was when I started, does still allow someone to contribute. And a consistent 2-3 pt builder can outpace someone who builds at 8-9 less frequently. I'm 3rd in total credits earned and I'm way far from being the best builder. But where shmails built once every 2-3 weeks I build every single week. -
Bob appears to have "acquired" Makoto Orenji's credits for himself according to the timeline... not that I'm complaining.

Location: A06 Guinevere Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // What an interesting turn my week took! I was called into the Corporate HQ offices and told that I was to conduct "clandestine research" on the scientific activities on Guinevere. A planet which up until now I was quite unfamiliar with. Apparently Octan had recently developed a stealth ship capable of delivering me to a far away planet currently controlled by Kawashita but a planet that had seen quite a bit of conflict. I was told to acquire appropriate clothing that would allow me to blend in and then report to a secret base. Not being an expert on foreign corporations I had to base my selection on what limited knowledge I had -- which was mostly TV shows and movies. So I went to a costume store and located a ninja outfit. I hope that is accurate enough that should someone see me they wouldn't take too much notice. Once I reported to the base I was told that in the extremely remote event that I was captured, I could not know the details of the stealth ship and therefore I had to be blindfolded. While that made perfect logical sense, it was a bit unsettling to think of capture. They once more reiterated it totally would never happen though. Upon arrival I was surprised at first to see that the facility I was to initially inspect looked very ... bland. But then I realized that with buildings passing back and forth between Mantis and Kawashita it hardly made sense to have them keep repainting it, so after a while they just left it as minimally decorated as possible. I located a workshop area and a heavy transport. I began taking pictures of everything, not knowing exactly what I was supposed to be taking pictures of. I'd have to file a report and then get further direction on what I should be doing. But for now my main priority was to blend in and not be noticed!

Bob, if you could please buy Stealth Mode for me. Thanks!

The gray really serves you well as it just kind of becomes an invisible palette then the red and yellow drags your eye around the MOC, only bad part for you is that tech builds grants no credits or resources.

Very nice and a great example of how to splash color. I like the pipes in the floor and the limited use of decorations on the wall that helps break things up without being a distraction from the lab. Really nicely built.

All my money to Bob please.

Gorgeous photography! Love the look, very sleek and agile.

Very nice, I was always a Battletech/Mechwarrior fan and this really is instantly recognizable as the venerable Mad Cat. Great work on this!

[SoNE XIII] - Bespin - Necessary Measures
Kodan Black replied to Kodan Black's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
In part I've been used to the yellow figs since my earliest experiences with them a LONG time ago. And I kind of like the sentiment that led to the yellow figs which is that they can represent anyone. But as I thought about it some, it occurs to me that SW MOCs are "living" in a universe and perhaps I should use the fleshies in my SW creations. I don't love the look of them generally, they seem to be slightly off to me. But it does become weird when you have Lando and a yellow minifig side by side. I'm not sure, but your comment has certainly caused me to think about it. It could be that within SoNE I will do fleshies going forward and for things like AG keep to my yellow ones. Though it will be a challenge as I've historically shunned fleshies so my collection is rather sparse for them versus yellow colored ones. I will have to ruminate further on this. -
Some really cool photography and a good job filling in some of the backstory before it is too late.

[SoNE XIII] - Bespin - Necessary Measures

Forgot to mention the 70's futuristic was exactly what I was going for, so I'm glad someone picked up on my vibe! I was sorely tempted, I even had some more of the LBG in there, but Google images mostly showed it as white. I didn't see much color, so I didn't want to stride too far afield despite wanting to. This build encompassed probably 40% of my total white pieces and 100% of my white tiles. I actually had to rework some sections (the area under the seats and table) to make up for my lack of tiles. i ordered more but knew they wouldn't make it in time. Working in 1 color really strains things for part assortment. From that perspective alone this was a very hard MOC to complete. -
In addition to the Transmutation please buy a Pirate hat for mediumsnowman and Kodan.

I like all the little greebles and accessories, and generally how non-smooth it is. Really a well developed Tattoine feel to it. -

Yeah, the micros of the full size ships was a great touch. Love the way you have him floating arms out at the end, very nice touch. I like the facial expressions that work well with the story. -
Nice little engine, compact but has some details once you look closely. I always liked engines like this as a kid, stout little things that could move a lot.

Location: F04 Illustria Tags: Land Vehicle Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // Though I'm not what one would typically call "kid friendly" I do agree with Dr. Long's idea to introduce the good work we do to young children so they better appreciate our contributions and hopefully become inspired themselves. I had been assigned a school child named Timmy. He seemed very full of energy and I didn't want to bring him to any of the labs since that seemed dangerous. Dr. Allison was quite happy to have him around and seemed genuinely excited to show him science. We took a utility lift out to one of the hangars and had him perform some, according to Dr. Allison, fun experiments dropping stuff to see which would fall faster and what would happen to each when dropped. We gave him an egg and a metal sphere to start. He correctly predicted the sphere would fall faster. **Sorry, with SoNE deadline this week I had to toss out a quick build**

Wow, great use of micro for the long-range shots and then transitioning into the close-ups! I like the crates of supplies and the motion blur on the action shots. Another top notch build!
