Exactly what I had in mind (but bigger and better in reality) thank you!

So I bought the Palace Cinema last weekend and as I built it I slowly became more hooked and wanted more. My next purchase will be the Parisian Restaurant (but I am trying to cut back on Lego), so until then I needed a fix and decided to MOC a house to go on the street. My first Modular MOC, on Flickr It took all my available useful bricks and as I got to the first floor I realised I would need to dismantle something to continue and so the Toyshop creator set came apart (but as you can see I liked some of its features so decided to keep them in the build). Originally the house went right to the back of the baseplate, but then I literally did run out of bricks (in anything other than primary colours) so I resized to make a backyard area at the rear. View from behind, on Flickr I wanted to include an interior but was running low on inspiration at this point so the current occupant lives a very spartan life and had a perchance for black. Ground floor, on Flickr Ground floor interior, on Flickr And the upstairs is even more bare... First floor, on Flickr The building was designed to go next to the Cinema and so I wanted the build to blend with the building, but also be a little different to keep the street interesting (the street will be growing). And so my street begins, on Flickr Finally this was all done with my existing bricks, and I want to put an order in to get some more bricks to finish the build off properly, I will definitely be ordering some tiles to finish off the edges and some plain white bricks (the final part of the building was built with white plates and 1x1 bricks). I'll also improve the bathroom. Any comments and suggestions for improvement will be really useful because I can add the stuff to my next order! Cheers :-)

Great review, thanks and a fantastic set I can't wait to get my hands on it. That photo of Capaldi looks like he's just had a haircut and they have gone a tad shorter than they should have :-) Personally I prefer the dimensions outfit, and I think I'll be giving him a guitar seeing as it seems to be his thing :-) So excited!!! Then you must watch the series (well you might enjoy it) I envy you all the unwatched Doctor episodes to discover!

Does lack of leaks indicate there is less likely to be another new piece? Do all new pieces tend to get leaked at a similar time? Or do you think we've just seen the new head gear? I don't know what I want to see for this one, obviously new legs would be awesome, but if we don't get those, I am still not going to hate the guy, that head piece is so cute :-) Female satyr :-) (joking) or is this a hint that we'll be getting a Zombie hotdog guy soon? -
Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I think my main problem with the Ariel hair is that I don't like it as hair for Ariel, not in general, so if Lego were going to make a minifigure Ariel, I'd like them to have another crack at making her quiff and I'd want her overall hair to be a bit smoother in appearance. But that's just my taste. The hair itself is fine on minifigures in general.- 4,155 replies

I really like it, I don't mind the play features. I've just finished building my first modular (Palace Cinema) and I am hooked, can't wait to get my hands on this one. Maybe the vault would work better underground, has anyone ever Modded the street downwards and added basements, sewers, cellars, an underground train and stuff?

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I guess some regular CMF use rubber moulds, like the pretzel girl and medusa, but I think it might be a bit disappointing for Disney doll collectors if all the princesses reused Lego the same Lego princesses? Personally I hope they don't, I don't do Lego dolls or Disney princesses, except this one time I accidentally bought a set with Ariel in (I don't know what happened she just came home with me) I later minifigured Ariel using the hairpiece and I don't really like the effect.- 4,155 replies

Oooo nice surprise, that head piece looks perfect, so much better than a gargoyle reuse. I will have a dancing circle of satrys :-) (I hope there is at least 4 in a box) -
Last time this was discussed in the pirates forum the conversation was relocated to this topic... so may be worth discussing this there, but without trawling the Ninjago thread again and from what I can remember: there is a cool asian-style pirate flag, the flimsy plastic kind, bandanas in dark green, I think one of the flying ships had a proper steering wheel and anchor, can't remember. One set has a monkey but its got orange bit on and there are palm trees using the upside down bush at the top (like you see in MOCs) and the trunk bit is made of the piece that gets used for dragons tails (in brown). I think there were cannons, but no sails or moulded ship bits. There were some drawings of the prelims knocking around, but I suspect they are gone, you may find them on other sites, otherwise I would wait for the official photos.

Oooo I wish they had used the ruff piece on the queen.... I'd love something reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth 1. -
I really like the rain effect too!

Why thank you :-) The story came first and then the build. There was a bit more that I did not manage to fit in was the reason why the ship crashed. The crew were drinking and started to hallucinate mermaids and sailed towards them... I wanted to show one member hallucinating a beautiful mermaid and the other hallucinating a terrifying one, and to show each of their reactions... but that bit got cut, so another time! Cheers, I tried out a few brain options (I know they are not really pink but in my world Lego brains are), at one point I had the CMF alien queen dissected on the table and her brain in the mix, but the pink soft serve seemed to fit better :-)

PTV 2015 large: End of the Age of Piracy in 3,2...1
BrickOn replied to jansued's topic in Pirate MOCs
How did I not spot this earlier? This is so cool!! Great idea and that island is gorgeous... And as Staslegomaster said too, loving the use of the CMF, I have the biker guy on my desk at work and I keep thinking his tattoo needs to be transferred to a pirate, I really like how you put it on the on the girl. And I am very very envious of your army of Royal Light Marines!- 8 replies

Haha I must have missed this entry earlier, so funny. Great story telling and I like the double scene very clever! And that rocking chair is verrrry nice :-) (but a monkey will make an appearance in the next Ninjago wave, so your pirates must have missed one?)

These are so cool! A great advertisement for the Studio set, although I strongly suspect that you are very talented at making these and are just making it look easy. Keep up the good work, I am secretly just waiting to see if you make the building I work in, its an eyesore but apparently quite important architecturally... :-)

Who else here is into all sorts of themes?
BrickOn replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am starting to worry about my other half, who came out of the dark age earlier this year and started collecting Star Wars, some bigger ships and the main goal seemed to be to build a huge army of storm troopers. Then it was Lego architecture, which are cool models and I get that they look good on display, but the obsession moved on and there is still one left in the box waiting to be built. Then it was modulars, buying the Detective's Office and we had to divide up who was going to buy which sets so we could have a cool Lego town and so we each got to have some cool modulars... The DO is still in its box and has not been built Now its diggers and construction sets and it took me a while to realise that was all just part of a bigger campaign to start buying Lego trains... for which there is absolutely no room for so even if get it as a christmas present it will mostly likely stay in the box. But I am starting to worry because recently technic sets are being talked about... The only thing that seems to be consistent is army building the hotdog guy from CMF, but reading this thread it seems pretty normal to buy lots of different lego set, its just the speed at which one theme goes in and out of favour I have a hard time keeping up with. -
Very very pretty with all the lights, tempted to add lights to my stuff when I see how cool it looks :-)

Billund Airport 4000016 bad quality bricks
BrickOn replied to BrickOn's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nah, I didn't know it was the same on all the bricks, there would be no point in getting more with the same effect. Now I know all the bricks are the same and not just my ones I can cope with it :-) (Sometimes I just get paranoid that I get the duff things and everybody else had good bricks). -
