Nice little build, I like the way you've made the grass on the top of the cliff. I too like the baseplate, one of my first sets was Shipwreck Island. I still have yet to pick up Sabre Island, but I will. Good luck with the contest! (Also interesting reading the links you added about use of lights for wrecking, never really thought about that before!)

Most collectible figures from each series.

what about the Series 10 Bee Girl... she's pretty pricey, more than the most of the animal suit people... and the rest of that series, okay maybe not Medusa? -
Strange, I have ordered stuff to the UK before with my Norwegian card and I have not had this problem, yet. But this week it was a real hassle trying to get the Legostore let me into the UK site from Norway, maybe they are having a bit of a crack down?

Yep she is the oldest, but newish to me. She was picked up at a different toy fair recently (to the ship pieces and stuff). Actually until I put her on the ship I did not realize that the current female pirate torso is basically a remake of the original design. Kinda nice, shame they didn't give her the blue bandana too.

MOC: Large landscape with Islanders, Imperial Guards, Soldiers and Arm
BrickOn replied to sander1992's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is really cool, I am just on my phone at the moment so haven't looked at it all properly (I agree with Captain Dee a few photos in the thread would be nice, or perhaps a video if you have one? Since a single shot may not do the whole thing justice). I am going to return to this and study the photos properly but from what I have seen it looks amazing. Really liking the island and those waves :-) -

Gosh I wish she came with pizza to go (I covet that set)!! But she actually came from 6411 and I switched the thong for some red ninjago legs. Yea after building I decided there were too many colour clashes and different styles going on, I really like the yellow against the black (which you don't see so well in pictures, as the main bit is at the front of the cabin) but not against the brown so much, however I also got given a big bag with long yellow plates at the same time so it just happened to be what I started building with and what I had most of. Thanks, yep I want more too, size-wise I can fit loads more in my pirate scene and they don't dwarf the buildings so much.

Hehe I guess you meant Amazones? (At first I thought Amauones was some complex term I had never heard, until google suggested I meant amazones). Which makes me think I should have included the CMF Amazon warrior too! Thanks, nope she's just one of my longest serving minifigures.

So I was given some ship pieces a while back (hull pieces, mast and cannons) and after quite a bit of playing and building and rebuilding, I finally finished the ship (well sort of, enough to post her here). ship, on Flickr Partially Square-rigged, one mast 10 I didn't have any spare cloth sails, and I'm not in the mood to make some at the moment, so I went with brick built (think I'd seen this style done before somewhere, but can't remember where). sails, on Flickr And I managed to squeeze a tiny Captain's cabin in the rear. Captain's Cabin, on Flickr parrots :-), on Flickr Thanks for looking :-) As always any suggestions for improvements welcome.

Which stores are doing this? I am off to the states next month, I'd pick one (or two up half price)! I accidentally bought the el dorado fortress last night on ebay, I was only playing around and I put a bid in which I though would be way too low and I ended up winning the auction oops, I was not meant to be buying lego until after christmas, I am now in the doghouse. -
Well I like it, but this week i have ended up buying the scarecrow and the calamity drone... I feel like maybe this banner is influencing my lego purchases

Oooo I really this, especially the stain glass window. You'll need to add another throne for the queen though...
-
Great thanks! Do you know if the same rules apply about buying fuel to get the set? And how long the promotion will last?

Makes sense, actually more than likely, thinking back the valentines set is unlikely to be top of every 10 year olds list either! Anyway ordered my two holiday sets, now I just have to locate the first two since I missed out on those!

Awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on him, we still need the 1x1 brick scale tardis to complete the flatline story :-) but the mini tardis looks great in the scene

Thanks, I am not sure my creativity is up to speed yet, but I wanted the practice! I definitely want to revisit the older designs and have a go at making them too, thinking it's a good way to learn the techniques... But I was impatient and just wanted something I could build, physically in front of me without ordering anything :-)

Wow this fantastic, both inside and out. I am really drawn to all the baked goods and the counter, that set up is perfect.

Oooo is it the same as the last series in the UK? I only got half the series last time. If they are out in Malaysia then I will ask my friend to bring me back some at Christmas!

Who is the target market for the seasonal scenes? I can't imagine there is a bunch of kids running around in the beginning of November asking for Santa's visit scene... Do you reckon these are aimed more at AFOLs?
-
Oh no... I have lots of headless torso figs, I've ran out of heads!!! Nobody would be safe in my collection (I'm only about 10 short, poor headless minifigs). However no kragel for me!

Okay this is awesome I need one. Perfect for King of Tokyo!

These are seriously cool!! Hmmm hobbies, they come and go in phases but I never stick at them long enough to become a true master... however climbing (indoor mostly and more usually bouldering), cycling, hiking, skiing (mountain/cross country, less alpine, incidentally this is what weened me off my first bout of lego addiction last winter), running, dolls houses (probably what stopped me playing with Lego as a kid, because I became a serious collector when I was 8/9), knitting, homebrewing beer (I dabble), gin (I take gin seriously), does travel count (if I don't have anyone to travel with I am liable just to head off somewhere for a month). I like to think of myself as a fairly well rounded individual, but in truth I would take each of these hobbies in turn until and pursue them single-mindedly until I burn out (with an exception of a couple which are pretty constant in the background)

Ooo I really like that clock and that chair looks comfy!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
BrickOn replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Plus a few more zombies... And maybe a Native American spirit/ghost? But I'd like a bit of a break before they did that... A more holiday/Christmas/winter themed series would be cool to have first... I'd want a nutcracker, gingerbread girl, penguin suit guy, ice queen, and snowman (like in The Snowman) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
BrickOn replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it looks like signatures on the cast on closer inspection, rather than confetti. For me personally I quite like, since I had already dismissed the leg as not the right colour for reuse, so it's cool to have some detail. I quite like the personal touches in the different series, but I see how they can be annoying. For this guy though we do get the head bandage, the crutches and another beaten up face we can use in other places, so it's not a complete loss if you want to reuse parts :-) And at some point we will get a hospital with less detailed casts but following the same idea?
