The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
ecmo47 replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Here's some food for thought - Brickbuilt C-3PO of the same scale as R2 or an updated TIE Advance. -
That is a great looking trench! Love all of the lumps, bumps and protrusions to give it an authentic feel. My only "issue" is that the fighters are way out of scale compared to the trench. I would think that poly bag size would look about right, but I fully understand that the trench is a really just a backdrop for the fighters. Are you going to display anyplace else this year?

I'd be down for some printed 2x2 round tiles if they were available. Here are some photo's of a pair that I'm working on. Thanks to Kappaknight for the improved neck connection. Works great! I made a few mods that ya'll may be interested in. I was very happy with the new face. That LBG ingot piece is the perfect view-port. I also moded the back left panel to simulate the "exhaust fan" detail. It was made with part number 194 (Utility Hose Nozzle) stuck in a head-light brick. I'm still on version one of the legs but I played around with the feet to try to create toes. Anyway, loved the project and an very grateful that you shared your creativity. Pull parts out of the collection and am at the 90% mark. Do you have any more info on the light brick? Bricklink doesn't recognizance part number of 54869 as given by the LDD BOM. I cannot even find a 2x3x1 1/3 sized light brick on BL. If no light brick, can you just fill in the space? Thanks!

[MOC] 1: 250 Mini UCS Rebel Transport GR-75 [LDD file]
ecmo47 replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have built three, two in white and one in Light Blue Gray. Pictures back on page 3 of this thread. I really liked the way the gray one turned out. -

Part 6191 ( Brick, Modified 2 x 4 No Studs, Curved Top ) are a little scare but they are not expensive. Here is a Bricklink seller that that has the 4 you need: http://www.bricklink.com/store/home.page?sID=179214&itemID=41162879#/shop?o={"invID":"41162879"} -
Have you seen this thread? Similar project and may find some good ideas here to help you out.

Your attention to detail with your Lionel layout is stunning! Cant wait to see what you will do with Lego!

Great News! I was afraid that I was going to have to figure out how to build those cool Cale Leiphart trucks from scratch.

[MOC] UCS CR-90 Corellian Corvette – Blockade Runner (Tantive IV)
ecmo47 replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Here are some examples of connections that Lego would consider "illegal". While they work well, Lego will never use them for official Lego sets, although they did in the early years as seen on the horses in set 6075, Yellow Castle. MOC builders use these techniques all the time to create forms not possible using regular construction methods. DSC01792 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01794 by Scott Roys, on Flickr- 129 replies

That's a fantastic set-up! Love the canal. Have we seen the cathedral before? I love to build that for my layout some day if you had LDD plans. As far as "improvements" add more trees and ballast the track!

[MOC] UCS CR-90 Corellian Corvette – Blockade Runner (Tantive IV)

Per the thread, the hold-up on plans for this model is a new baby and the fact that there are several illegal connections that cannot be duplicated in LDD. He may just decided to move on to other projects and just keep this one to himself. This talk of needing financing is rubbish.- 129 replies

The mini-falcon plans are included in the Neb-B plans. Up to mortesv if he wants to release them separately.

That is a perfect Lego tribute to Carrie Fisher. Very well done!

I'm sure these instructions will be as good as the Nebulon-B however this ship is not my cup of tea so will pass. I do wonder if Cavegod has anything new in the works as both the AT-AT and this ship are several years old already. Looking forward to future builds (and instructions)!

By far, this announcement is the best end-of-the-year news yet! One question, will you be able to link/host all of the old Rail Bricks issues?

Woo-Hoo!!! This looks great! Congrats! Do you think that you will be hosting LDD files on how to build various rail items? Can we start with that fab white box car? And then the one-cylinder engine and then the crane and then the ...... Anyway, best of luck in your endeavor and hope to be able to contribute in some way in the future.

Start here: Still not cheap, but this 3d printed stuff is getting decent reviews. http://brickset.com/article/25471/bringing-back-the-monorail-3d-printed! http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/24739/were-bringing-back-the-monorail-3d-printed/p1

No, nothing that we haven't already seen. Some pages dedicated to the AT-AT variants, the TIE Striker and the U-wing. More interesting was the book "The Art of Rogue One". Originally, the Scarif gate was to be a ring-shaped Star Destroyer docking station. It has some nice sketches of that new Rebel flagship with the big fin underneath (not sure it's name).

No Hammerhead info in the DK Ultimate Visual Guide book.
-
Based on that screen grab, I'd guess also estimate the length to be about 150m or about the same size at the Tantive IV. Do film makers make models anymore or is everything digitally created? There is a DK book out called Star Wars: Rogue: The Ultimate Visual Guide that may have so info in it about the Corvette. I'm going to take a look at it next time I'm near a book store. https://www.dk.com/us/9781465452634-star-wars-rogue-one-the-ultimate-visual-guide/

Not sure that is correct. According to Wookiepedia, the Hammerhead CRUISER is 315 feet long with a crew of 300. The Hammerhead CORVETTE only has a crew of 2 so would assume that it is much smaller. Wookie does not list a length for the corvette but it does ID the ship in the Scarif battle as a corvette rather then the larger (presumably) Cruiser. The only size comparison I remember from the movie is that it is about as big as the "cutout" section of a Star Destroyer which is about 1600m in length (or 5 times larger then the Neb-B). Eyeballing a picture of the SD, the cutout is roughly 1/5 the length so perhaps 315 meters is a closer to the actually length.

Very nice! Has anybody found any statistics (Length) on this ship? I'm wondering if the scale is close to Mortesv's Nebulon-B as it would be a great addition to his 1/250 scale fleet.
