  1. The build is underwhelming and the tower sucks, but the Great Hall is somewhat passable if viewed from the exterior. It's one of those sets where i'll probably buy it on Ebay for about half the price missing the figures - though admittedly as others have said it looks like a barn. The crucial aspect will be what these sets look like together, they have already seemingly messed up the tower design and the scale so i'm curious as to how the rest of Hogwarts will look compared to this.
  2. The design of Hogwarts changed a lot, it changed more so with the third movie; https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/129604/what-changes-have-been-made-to-hogwarts-throughout-the-series The Great Hall for example has the three towers and clock tower of the Third Film (and beyond) but lacks the courtyard and the offshoot from the tower
  3. O_O HYPE :P Also, where is Fawkes? From the sounds of it, its a brick built figure but i've not seen it in the set images.
  4. Decided to recreate the set to get a feel for the size/scale of the build and the amount of interior room. Hope this helps you all :) Exterior; Interior; Top; Also been playing around with the idea of merging two sets to create a bigger great hall with a complete roof, done a basic set-up here but would need to make it wider to incorporate the middle tower - its a WIP :P
  5. Anyone mind helping out with how the angled pieces of the main tower are done - e.g. how they are connected? It's the only part i'm having trouble figuring out.
  6. The great hall exterior looks great. Tower looks generic and the top build seems strange. Honestly would have preferred if they removed the tower and focused more on the Great Hall interior. It has exposed pins on the side so it's definitely meant to connect to a larger castle build. Cannot spot Fawkes, but the set description says it includes Fawkes. The Basilisk could use a little more smoothness, hopefully the larger castle includes the Chamber Of Secrets though given we got the Basilisk here i doubt it. Maybe we'll get Fluffy though as a brick-built three-headed dog. Interior looks a bit of a mess - the fireplace is nice but the tables take-up a lot of the space and dont really give much room, would rather they have focused on the exterior a bit more using the parts count instead of giving us what will no doubt be an inferior great hall in comparison to what the larger set will give us.
  7. He mentioned it is rumored, so still a chance that it's not a Teen groot with a new expression. If it is though, it's disappointing. As others have said we have a variety of characters they could have given us - instead we get Groot. Hopefully the polybag, if it is Groot, has arm/leg print. Potential release of the Polybag; Polybags are normally for purchases of a specific set or with purchases of a wave of sets, for exclusive figure those tend to be tied to a specific set, the like sets being 76015, 76107, 76108. Has double VIP coincided with an exclusive figure release before; 2015 had Double VIP points for March which tied in with the release of the UCS Helicarrier which had an exclusive Winter Soldier figure. Is there anything that may apply to us getting, or not getting, double VIP during March; We know Star Wars is getting a double VIP promotion applied to those who brought the Millenium Falcon. It's unclear if this makes it more or less likely for another theme/themes to receive double VIP points. On one hand it's unlikely to be the only promotion as otherwise those who couldn't afford the Falcon would be annoyed while on the other hand it's unlikely Lego would offer double VIP points to Star Wars if they were going to offer double VIP points to a range of sets (unless it stacked and enabled quad VIP points) In summary, it could happen as it's occurred before. Chances are if it did occur it would be specifically for the Superheroes sets given the lack of advertising double VIP points in the March Calendar, which would normally be done if it was for a range of themes. We'll have to wait and see though. Hopefully tomorrow gives us the prices via the NYTF.
  8. Double VIP points would be great, i've saved up a bunch of VIP points but would like to be able to stock up some more and potentially use them on the Summer sets (Hogwarts Castle perhaps) I think the Sanctum or Hulkbuster having an exclusive polybag figure would help with people unsure about buying it.
  9. I like the image, but it looks like the gems are supposed to be pushed in slightly further, they stick out a bit and it looks a bit odd. Image is clearly edited a lot - interested to see how the gems look on the completed Gauntlet, hopefully they can go in slightly more.
  10. At this stage it is best waiting for NYTF to get clarity - it's only a few days away.
  11. If it is the store exclusive then perhaps the much lower price is correct with the larger Hulkbuster being $49.99 - if so then that would be great and could explain the size, lack of figures, etc... Originally i dismissed it as the website having the two prices swapped around... but perhaps this is not the D2C and we still have the D2C to come! D: Alternatively the Hulkbuster is priced high and is just an expensive store exclusive while the D2C is cheaper.
  12. - The Escape pod fits three figures. - The Gauntlet is on a 4x4 stand with the back section of the new Milano featuring room to store it - this could easily fit two figures if modified. - The front cockpit of the Milano is seemingly 4 wide also by the looks of things - not sure how deep though. Two figures fit there currently via the 'bike'. If you can modify the back section of the main spaceship, where the Gauntlet can be put, to store two figures then the spaceship will be able to fit seven figures - which in theory should be enough; Star Lord, Gamora (front), Drax, Mantis (Middle), Groot, Rocket, Thor (Back).
  13. Official image thoughts; 76101;Did not realize it could fit two of the Outriders in the pod/vehicle. Still just a figure pack though with two inaccurate Outriders and a poorly printed Captain America 76102; Sliding compartment under the Kiln is something i did not expect, but does not really add anything to the build. Spaceship being able to fit all three figures is good 76103; 'Interior' has an interesting design, medic bay set-up is simplistic but does the job i suppose 76104;Interior of the Hulkbuster actually looks improved over the last version, you see some of the inner workings and the front folds away via three segments rather than just one.The 'go to sleep' feature is inaccurately named as it's instead a smashing feature and not like the punching AoU 'go to sleep' 76107; The Bike feature looks silly and seems to take up all the interior as no sign of anywhere for the characters to fit, instantly making it the least useful Milano being completely over-taken by the play features leaving no room to seat the characters, definitely a downgrade from the previous Milano. Using the bike and seperate escape pod you can fit five characters whereas the Guardians is comprised of at least six (Starlord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, Drax, Mantis). Escape pod attaches how we expected, ship still looks way too wide. You can put the Infinity Gauntlet on its stand into the back of the Milano, but this just takes up space and it's clear they did not account for the combined form where you'd be unable to open the compartment because the escape pod from 76102 is attached. Probably going to empty out the interior and rework it to fit four/five seats for the Guardians which should be easily done given the space is there, it's just taken up with play features. 76108; Allocation of pieces seems incredibly odd - mostly for the Pizzeria segment. It does not feel like 1000 pieces as a result. Lots of technic pieces. The descriptions were inaccurate originally, nowhere to store the Iron Spider suit - just a winch mechanism. Set would require quite the rework to be more focused on Doctor Strange - only two rooms out of the six really seem focused on Doctor Strange elements. Probably going to scrap the pizzeria side of the building and use it to extend the Doctor Strange segments, add some smooth floors, etc...
  14. It was mentioned, but people were questioning how it was done. From the box art it looks like he's just kind of slamming his fist down.
  15. Finally tracked down the box art - had no luck on Instagram so gave up and checked elsewhere. Here are my thoughts on the box art; Overall; Thanos in the corner looks odd, though i guess they wanted to help further differentiate these sets from the Avengers 4 sets which will probably have the core Avengers in the corner Most the sets suffer from poor layout, worsened by the lack of characters and the focus normally being on the least interesting part of the set Thanos' Ultimate Battle is the worst offender in this regard, the left side is basically empty other than the Milano's wing - it clearly needed an extra figure and the large box width just emphasizes this I'm not particularly someone who cares much about the box art, i tend to keep the boxes occasionally if it looks nice though. None of these i'm going to bother keeping the boxes for.
  16. Any chance of you expanding this a bit? Making some more locations and/or adding more to the current ones. Would be interested to see all of Westeros replicated replicated in this style.
  17. I expect this could simply be a case of the website mixing the numbers around, at the time there was confusion as to what the number for the D2C would be. We've had various sites reporting prices but our two reports on the price for the D2C UCS set are $160 (from a price comparison website relaying an apparent leak) and $125 (from a EB user recently). I've tried to clarify what the price is with customer services, but they are unable to give details on the set until an official reveal occurs. Though in terms of the Hulkbuster potentially being $49.99... While the UCS Hulkbuster has a slightly smaller size than Garma Mecha Man ($59.99) it arguably appears to have more pieces (when factoring in all the additions to the main build and the accessories) As such i doubt $49.99 is accurate for the UCS Hulkbuster and is instead the potential price of the exclusive set, which may or may not be Infinity War related given how the D2C UCS Hulkbuster turned out.
  18. Somehow it looks worse than the box art The build is so tall and thin that it looks nothing like the Hulkbuster proportionally; Legs, body and arms are all the same length. For a Hulkbuster the legs and arms should be longer than the body (as shown above) Leg design is at least something resembling the inspiration and you can tell they tried with the chest at some point, but it's so tall and thin and unfinished - the more i look at it, the more i'm seeing the exposed segments of the inner build which should be covered (most notably the gray areas on the arms, and near the crotch, along with the unnecessary gray areas on the side of the legs) The arms desperately needed shoulder pads and without them it looks like they are just slapped onto the build. Hopefully the promotion is good and the price cheap...
  19. I think a new print for this shield could work if we get his shield in a later set.
  20. I've seen an edited image of a Hulkbuster where part of the waist segment is removed making the proportions look better and it does not seem that difficult to replicate in set form. $125 is a lot more manageable, hopefully we see official images of the set soon though given the lack of VIP release that could be a while. Next public display would be 17 - 20th Feb at the New York Toy Fair.
  21. Given we did not know what the UCS set would be, expectations were incredibly low - and this set still manages to be worse. Brick Burst has a video on the subject. From what we have heard this is $160 - if that price is not accurate then some of my remarks may not apply, however it seems that allocation of budget seems to be an issue with this set. Most the Hulkbuster is as expected, not perfect, but passable. The arms and legs fall into this category. The torso however is the focal point, and it just looks unfinished/wrong. The aggravating part of all this is that they clearly had a ton of spare pieces after building the Hulkbuster - yet rather than use them to refine the Hulkbuster torso or maybe put the budget into another figure, instead we get them put into; A base Two mechanical arms A spare Hulkbuster arm A table with two displays Two Micro builds (Car and Veronica) None of these aspects were necessary and all of them feel tacked on and a bad allocation of budget if the main design is underwhelming because it looks unfinished. Couple this with it feeling like a step backwards from the advancements in Lego Mechs in the Ninjago movie line-up. Fire Mech gave us waist to leg attachments that could move in, out, forwards and backwards. - The Hulkbuster gives us waist to leg attachments that can only move in and out. Quake Mech gave us dual shoulder connections preventing sagging while also introducing a technique that enables full 360 degree rotation. - The Hulkbuster gives us single shoulder connection that will sag making display difficult. Fire Mech & Quake Mech gave us 360 degree rotation of the elbow. - The Hulkbuster gives us only forwards and backwards at the elbow. Overall for a set that is going to be priced a lot more than the Ninjago Mech's, why does it have none of the great features that the Ninjago Mech's do?
  22. Ninjago Fire Mech - 14 inches ($69.99, £59.99, €69.99) - 944 pieces (6 figures) Ninjago Quake Mech - 12 inches ($89.99, £79.99, €79.99) - 1202 pieces (5 figures) Garma Mecha Man - 11 inches ($59.99, £59.99, €59.99) - 747 pieces (4 figures) Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition - 10.43 inches ($160?) - ? pieces (1 figure) The back of the box definitely states 26.5cm and 10.43 inches - so the size is definitely correct - making it one of the smallest mechs. If it is $160 then it should arguably have a piece count of around 2000+ like the Destiny's Bounty - with about 1700 on the main build and the rest allocated to the stand, arms, table and mini-builds - and similar to that set i hope the conversion rate would equate to about £100ish. I could easily see myself getting it for full price if it's around £100 (would still use VIP points though)
  23. These are'nt really potato quality images, maybe you could say the back image is - but the front image is fairly crisp and high quality enough to read some of the text on the title card. Official images will presumably reveal the back of the set and maybe they will surprise us also by showing articulation that the set currently does not seem to have judging via appearance. Though the design of aspects such as the torso are still going to be inaccurate and the proportions are still going to look strange. Whoever designed this went with more humanoid proportions whereas the Hulkbuster has odd proportions - the main body of the Hulkbuster is about half the height of a leg (From the foot to the knee = same height as torso) Everything on the official set is too high-up stretching the body, it's around 4-6 blocks longer that it should be for the torso. The design of the Torso is also a bit off on the official figure because the upper smooth pieces are curved inwards around the top of the chest with an obvious gap down the middle rather than pushing outwards and close together like the version it is based on. The main issue with the torso lies in how flat it is, which does not help with the proportions either. I doubt it would be a total failure financially, people will buy the set to mod it (such as myself) or for the pieces it includes which are bound to include some new recolours and maybe a new piece or two - also those less focused on an accurate model will end up getting the set and posting good reviews simply because it's a Hulkbuster, rather than for how accurate or well designed it is. It takes some aspects from the Ninjago Fire Mech but seemed to not take all the aspects it needed.
  24. We've seen the official set and it looks a mess - granted if it is 2000 pieces for $160 then people would probably buy it for the cheap price... but they wouldn't buy it for the set's design. The sets design should be what sells the set - if not it is effectively a glorified parts pack.
  25. The set is unfortunately a mess, it's somewhat fixable but will require a lot of Bricklinking and a lot of redesigning effectively everything - something i will be attempting. It does have some simple fixes such as getting rid of the silver/gray elements that are unnecessarily added onto the set for no reason along with covering up some of the studs and fixing the gold pieces on the arms to be curved/smooth. Though you are completely correct, for the pricing we shouldn't have to be making a D2C accurate, it should have already been accurate. It's a shame Lego has dropped the ball so hard on creating the Hulkbuster. The rumored price was $160 =/ Either way, wont be buying at full price. Honestly, yeah. This is a rather bad D2C set. Nothing is proportional to the official version, the best designed aspect is the legs and even they are randomly covered in silver, seemingly no knee articulation and can only move outwards.
