Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Whirlwind is the one they have defaulted to in adaptations recently. Plus kind of expect the wind villain to be an amalgamation of characters rather than a singular one so they could always change the backstory. Though calling the villain Cyclone would fit the same role. Timeline? :P -

Will be nice having a set with three villains, just hope they are good figures. Hope the version of Mysterio we get will have his fishbowl. Elements are not the spoiler, but the identities are - and those can be determind via the confirmation of the element being represented. -

I'm kind of expecting the armory, if accurate, to take place after he has been rescued from the trailer scenario. Hence having a battle damaged version of the Mark 50, Rescue and ofcourse Tony. The 'Mk1' or 'Mk2' being in an armory set would help serve as a comparison to show how far he has come as a character while also providing fans with something they have been after for a while without having to resort to providing us with multiple Iron Man suits. I thought the new suit would be a Mark 51, hence mentioning it in the ' Battle of the Assembled Avengers' as such, but yeah, effectively the newest suit we see in the most expensive set :P It's worth noting the teased 'Infinity War/End Game' concept art for the scene below; -

Names seem fake - but most are passable except the first. According to those involved, promotional material such as toys would not include the 'snapped' characters, as such, here is speculation on figure layout over the sets; 76123: Captain America: Attack of the Outrider Captain America (Nomad Suit), Black Widow, Outrider x 2 76124: War Machine Crusher War Machine, Hawkeye (Ronin suit) 76125: Iron Man Armor Room Tony Stark, Pepper Potts (Rescue Armor), Iron Man MK1, Iron Man MK 50 (Damaged) 76126: Avengers Super Quinjet Thor, Rocket, Captain Marvel, Nebula 76131: Battle of the Assembled Avengers Thanos, Hulk, Iron Man MK 51, Captain America (Scale Armor), Brick-built Giant Man A set later on would probably give us a few other characters based around those who are returning. -

Has anyone considered we may get a printed Gauntlet Piece this time. The 'gimmick' of collecting them all for the Gauntlet likely would not work this time, as those who collected the Infinity War sets already have it. So instead of the gimmick perhaps we'd just get a printed gold fist piece? May be its just me. In which case, the face print kind of sucks. -

Yes i said that. The EG Thanos in the comparison picture with the IW Thanos is different from the close-up EG Thanos we have seen. Either we are getting a variant of EG Thanos (One opened mouth smile, the other closed mouth smile) or one of them is an early prototype - personally i hope the closed mouth smile ends up being the one we get. -

Do we get two versions of this End Game Thanos? One has a closed mouth smile (in the comparison picture with the Infinity War Thanos) and the other in the close-ups has an opened mouth smile. The closed mouth smile looks better than the angry face from the Infinity War sets - but the opened mouth smile looks rather weird and not intimidating in any sense. As for the overall design, the arm printing is an improvement over the lack of any printing but the lack of wrapping around is disappointing and makes it seem like gold strapped to the side of his arm. The chest design is alright, but the gray body looks rather odd as pretty sure the armour is worn over a purple/dark purple underbody - it will also weaken the individuality of the character when alongside the Black Order, in particularly Cull Obsidian who shares in the gray body. It's missing a segment of gold just below the upper chest and the lack of any boot details makes the figure feel incomplete. It's difficult to say if it is an improvement as a whole as the purple body definitely worked better, but perhaps Thanos will get a different design in End Game. Hulk is 'meh' not much to talk about - expression is interesting but feels out of place with the tone. Maybe replicating concept art? -
I am simply seeing people here saying none of the fault lies on Lego. People claiming that "its not legos fault". I am acknowledging Lego's part in this. They have the ability to sell the Bricktober and Diagon Alley sets - however the poor handling of both via seemingly random distribution methods has resulted in stock running short due to scalpers, a loss of income/sales for the company and the negative stigma that will hang over future promotions such as Bricktober or otherwise. Multiple stores. It did not dry up all the stock obviously, it did result in a large amount of individuals missing out on the set. It's difficult to calculate how many of the promotion were sold to single individuals as opposed to distributed as intended. The lack of adheering to the distribution rules is a factor - a massive one at that. You cannot turn a blind eye to the issues created by allowing an individual to purchase tons of copies of a set designed to be distributed on an individual basis - nor the financial impact of a promotion designed to sell stock being effectively given away. To use the Harry Potter Bricktober set as an example, it was meant to only be with sales of $50 or more, instead it was sold for $7.99. An individual on Bricklink has 138 copies, another has 60, 44, 38, 36, 25, 23, 20... over 300+ individuals who did not get a chance because the policy was not enforced properly. Thats not even factoring in how much stock was left unsold because an individual went elsewhere for the promotional item and/or did not need to spend the required amount. All retail outlets that have distributors have plans in place for if a distributor is unable to fullfill the contract and/or if something occurs that results in that distributor no longer being an option. I feel people are excusing the lack of preparedness of a global brand that should have had plans in place for if a specific store chose to either not be the distributor or would face closure. Even excusing the lack of a plan, the announcement of TRU closing came in March. Six/Seven months should have been enough time for Lego to get a plan together. The packaging redesign was done before August. Worst case scenario they could have used themselves as a distributor - which they are doing anyway by having the Ninjago Bricktober set distributed via the Black Friday event. It seems they rushed into finding a distributor which caused most the problems with the distribution rather than simply delaying the release or attaching the promotion to a specific event - they rushed release causing the previously mentioned problems.

Ninjago Movie Screen-Accurate Mech Recreations

Looking forward to see your progress in future. Are you going to be tackling the Fire Mech? -
You seem to want to excuse Lego of fault, that is admirable, but misguided. Lego messed up and that should be acknowledged. Now a majority of the most desired sets, all with exclusive figures, are unreleased in many places around the globe. I am completely serious in the fact that Lego is to blame in regards to certain aspects and I feel the failure to handle the scenario has amplified the problem. The Diagon Alley set was intended to be a 'gift with purchase' with 'one per person' - an official Lego store messed up and sold them individually for cheap while allowing people to buy multiples. Given this is an official Lego store, when they run out of stock, they would be prioritised to get more stock first. It's difficult to calculate how many Diagonal Alley sets were sold via this method but this fault is on Lego. Maybe the specific store and its employees, but definitely on Lego. The Barnes and Noble screw-up is a mixture, admittedly. Part of it is reliant on my below remark - however Barnes and Noble severely messed up also. The Bricktober packs were also intended to be limited to a 'gift with purchase' 'one per person' scenario, yet Barnes and Noble did not realise this and sold multiples of the sets to individuals for less than $1 each while also allowing people to use the store ordering system to order more copies of the sets for themselves. This resulted in individuals walking away with countless sets and many Barnes and Noble stores ran out of stock before the official release day. I'm still finding stories of people managing to walk out of the store with 10+ sets or individuals who went to a store only for Barnes and Noble to have no clue what they were on about. Lego has been through this exact scenario before with Woolworths - yet they had alternative distributors lined up when that happened. This time they did not. (Despite Bricklink showing only a few, many sets were released under a 'Woolworths Exclusive' tag). This time they had nobody in place so they rushed into finding an alternative distributor and either the alternative distributor was not informed or they were incompetent resulting in the release of a magnitude of sets at a time and price that they were not meant to. This resulted in sets selling out quickly and an influx of scalpers. A competent business has a back-up plan and its incredibly surprising that Lego did not have one this time after they did previously. This has been further amplified by a lack of communication between Lego and the customers, nobody had a clue what was happening regarding the sets and Lego themselves were not helpful in this matter resulting in many turning to scalpers and online sources to purchase the Bricktober packs and Diagon Alley instead. This has reduced sales for Lego, given the previously mentioned scenario of getting a 'gift with purchase' for incredibly cheap. Promotions that would have required the purchasing of sets have instead been sold cheaply without the requirement of a large purchase losing Lego potential income, sales and decreasing movement of stock.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
In regards to the quality debates. My main concern lies in the following logic that could be behind the sets; Sets are performing well -> Maximise profits by reducing quality of sets -> Sets perform better -> Lego can decrease quality further as it does not seem to be impacting sales Sets are performing well -> Maximise profits by reducing quality of sets -> Sets continue to perform well so no requirement to improve/return to quality Sets are performing well -> Maximise profits by reducing quality of sets -> Sets perform worse -> Lego does not want to improve/return to quality on a theme which is declining Sets are performing badly -> Reduce risk by lowering quality of sets -> Sets continue to worsen due to reduced quality The only hope for the theme is that the budget for the wave only amounts to a select number of sets per year and that due to the increased amount of tie-in sets being produced the quantity increase has resulted in a decrease of quality. Even that does not give the most helpful outlook. I just feel that Lego are unlikely to invest the level of quality that the Marvel sets deserve. First the print/detail quality began to fade, followed by the amount of figures not feeling representative of the price of sets for Infinity War. Remember that our first instance of Black Panther had a printed 'ear' piece while the newer instance does not - aspects such as this seem telling of a decision being made. -
It kind of is to be honest Diagon Alley was sold in stores, that was where our first IRL leak of the set came from, due to the early distribution and direct sale of the set as opposed to a 'gift with purchase'. As a result of this they have ran out of stock incredibly prematurely in many locations (As noted by Lego-Fire) they are already out of stock in the UK and will not replenish, having removed the info on the promotion from the website. The Bricktober sets themselves admittedly had some issue due to the lack of a distributor in the forms of Toys R Us, i can understand that causing issue. Yet this does not magically make all the stock they had disappear. They have the stock, have advertised it and seemingly have no plans to release it in a majority of locations unless they find a distributor. The packaging has even been changed to remove the Toys R Us Logo so they could easily give us the promotion. If they wanted to save Bricktober they could have distributed it with purchases over a certain amount. Instead they have only distributed via distributors who seemingly have no clue what they are doing, such as Barnes and Noble who directly sold the set to people resulting in an influx of scalpers. While the closure of TRU is a factor, the majority of the blame here rests on Lego for not only failing to have a back-up plan for if a distributor pulled out, but also consistently providing the sets either to official stores where the policy of distribution was not enforced OR to simply not have the stock to satisfy demand. The second of which was also a factor with the HP Minifigure line.

In the MCU, yes. The comics are complicated though. Its basically "Hawkeye as a Ninja/Samurai" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronin_(Marvel_Comics) -
On Reddit, “Ryankroboth” mentioned that they would be releasing a parts list after the parts have arrived - i believe they intend to build it first to check it all works fine

To try and explain, my thought on the matter are that the character listed is the focal point of the set - with a basic description of the set after. I expect the description of the set is not necessarily saying that it belongs to that character. 76126 and 76131 are not focused around a specific character. Speculation; 76123 - Captain America in a battle pack scenario similar to 'AoU's Iron Man Vs. Ultron' - will be interesting to see what the villains included would be, probably updated Chitauri. 76124 - War Machine is the focus however the vehicle could arguably be anything, i don't think it is actually 'War Machine's Vehicle', personally think it is more likely to be connected to the Quantum Realm or a Spaceship 76125 - Iron Man focused set however the location could be anywhere, most likely this would be some form of headquarters or base given the cheaper sets are a vehicle and a battle pack. 76126 - Space/Quantum Realm ship makes the most sense here. Chances are this will be a new vehicle - however surviving alternatives would be the Sanctuary II, Guardians Ship OR Quinjet (Perhaps Captain Marvel's ship) 76131 - Given the price/piece count this set definitely includes a big fig (or perhaps two, Hulk?) Location could be anywhere, if a building we are looking at something similar to '76038 - Attack on Avengers Tower' -
I guess you mean this one. It's been making the rounds a bit recently - its a custom, but pretty amazing work and would definitely get it for Buckbeak if it existed.

“Ryankroboth” has built a MOC render of the the missing half of Hogwarts Castle. You can view it here. It is still missing a few segments but this is what i am personally hoping we get as a set eventually.

I missed the previous Sandman, i'm not the biggest fan of the facial expressions on this one - however otherwise looks pretty good. Doctor Octopus looks generic and still have the Spider-man 2 version so not as interested in that. Green Goblin is apparently getting a figure (Probably based on the Spider-Verse or comics) Unsure if it has been mentioned, but the rumors at the moment are that there will be three Homecoming sets with the villains split between them; 76128; Molten Man 76129; Hydro-Man 76130; Mysterio Personally only the idea of Mysterio interests me at the moment, but we'll have to wait and see. I do need to try and save and focus on the Avengers 4 sets though - i'm sure we'll end up with a massive set this time that breaks my wallet -
Got the additional question and answered it. Though hopefully it is not one of these 'remember what you put' as i wrote a rather long sentence xD

- Amazon is unconnected sellers, they often result in a price hike of roughly £100-200. Not worth buying from Amazon. - John Lewis does not sell it, at least not officially by the looks of things

Scarilian replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
In my view - here are the figures i feel are likely and not as likely. Likely figures; Captain Marvel (Kree suit and normal suit variant) the normal suit will probably be in the cheaper set while the Kree Suit should be the rarer one Mar-Vell, has a major role in the comics and is certain to spend some or most the film interacting with Captain Marvel Ronan the Accuser, released in only one other set and being brought back for this film, chances are we'll get a slightly altered variant/updated figure Korath the Pursuer, missing from the GoTG1 sets and being a member of the Starforce this figure seems incredibly likely Talos (Skrull and Human disguise variant) chances are the Skrull appearance of this character will alter to make him stand out more amongst the other Skrull Nick Fury (Two eyes), given this is partially set in the past we could definitely get a variant of Nick Fury - the lack of an eye patch increases chances Generic Skrull, great incentive to army build, but not entirely necessary as Skrulls have a massive potential to feature in future films Not as likely figures; Carol Danvers, i expect this variation would be saved for Avengers 4 or potentially a future film Att-Lass, depends on role, has been a villain in the comics so if he survives could always get a figure of him later or in Avengers 4 Minn-Erva, depends on role, has been a villain in the comics so if she survives could always get a figure of her later or in Avengers 4 Bron-Char, depends on role, has been a villain in the comics so if he survives could always get a figure of him later or in Avengers 4 Maria Rambeau, has been combined with Monica Rambeau and could be a hero in future films, however role in this film will probably be small Phil Coulson, while he appears in this movie it is unclear how large his role is, him and Nick Fury are in a similar situation however Nick features a variation to his design justifying him as 'likely' as opposed to Phil. -
Nagini was 'evil' in the views of the story - it has been depicted in sets and even killed in the Lego Harry Potter video game because it is viewed as something 'evil' and dangerous Basilisk was 'evil' in the views of the story - it has been depicted in sets and even killed in the Lego Harry Potter video game because it is viewed as something 'evil' and dangerous The Unicorn was neutral/good in the views of the story - it has not been depicted because the only time the audience have seen it is when it was dead. Lego as such cannot get much playability out of it in regards to a set, as why include a Unicorn (potentially one requiring a new mold) simply for it to be dead. Granted Macnair never killed Buckbeak, but it's more the idea of including a set and having a figure, an axe and a creature along with defining the figure as an 'executioner'
