The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
SilentWolf replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think moving the troops to Port Raleigh is a good idea. I also think putting troops on our warships would be an excellent idea for the MRCA. Question on the troops on ships: Can an individual, ex. myself, own troops to put on my own ships? Is this something that will be coming in the future?- 897 replies

That is an awesome microbuild. I love the sails and realism it creates on the microscale. -

Welcome to Pimbo and Brickwolf. It is nice to see you two in Corrington! I am building two buildings for Arlingsport to round out my backstory, and give myself some more income. I am also finishing a new ship that will sail in this month's MRCA. I would also echo Ska that focusing on the Challenge 1 would be good as it could win us up to two new islands. I am hoping to build on the islands at the end of the month if I really build a lot or next month. I haven't decided if I want to found my own town or just build in the ones we have settled already.- 897 replies

[COR - Ch1 Cat B] Where only the strange men go...
SilentWolf replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Somebody had to do the classic hidden treasure. I figured I might as well. This was my first attempt at a layered moc like this as well as my first attempt at landscaping. I do look forward to improving as I go and would value any specific pointers to improve it. The underground did turn out the best I felt. Especially once I added the lighting which created a sense of dark vs. light like one would expect in a cave. -

The "Flying Colt" was sailing along happily on a merchant run off the coast of Garvey when suddenly it was attacked by privateers. The ugly scurvy aboard the “King of Mardier” wanted to haul in the cargo for themselves. The "Flying Colt" immediately set to defending themselves with cannon and prepared to fight hand to hand if it came to it. Fortunately, the Eslandolan escort "Queen of Terelli" was nearby to lend a hand. Some of our troops are a little too green for battle. I intend to have a 2F completed before the end of the month so I should be able to run with you this month. I will let you know the name when it is completed. -

I would vote to add it to her Majesty's fleet. I like the idea of charging foreigners for usage of our escort vessels. Even without that, I feel the empire will make enough to cover the upkeep just by escorting us on our own merchant routes.- 897 replies

Previous Builds Intro: Silent Wolf FB: "Flying Colt" Ch1 CatA: Ahoy, Fishermen! FB: Back at the Ranch... Silent Wolf and his friends spent a week with the natives. They were hosted by the village. During this time, they learned some of the information about this land. One of the surprising things they learned was that the village had been visited years ago by other men like the Corlanders. They discovered this when they heard the natives speaking some words that they recognized from their merchant and military missions in the Old World. The natives told Micah and his friends that the previous visitors had come a long time ago. Only the most elderly remembered them. The natives declared that the visitors had been crazy which is why they never came back. The visitors enjoyed spending their time inside the earth. Only crazy people go inside the earth, because every smart person knows it is dangerous. When Micah asked, no one was willing to show them where the hole into the earth was. Later, one of the young natives who was called Hanska told them that though the tribe was afraid of the hole in the ground and the loud noises that came out of it, he had been inside before. He would be willing to lead them there. Leaving Caleb with the ship, Micah, George, William and Arthur followed Hanska through the forest. A girl from the tribe who apparently was interested in Hanska followed the group from a distance. After walking for about an hour, they saw a large rock jutting out of the ground. As they moved torward it, they scared up what appeared to be a pig just like the ones they had back in the Old World. Haska told them they had been left by the former strangers and had grown quite wild and populous on the island. Upon arriving at the rock mound, Haska pulled the vegetation aside that blocked a tiny entrance into a narrow cave. The men lit the three torches they had brought and squeezed one by one through the opening. Descending into the cave, they saw a light up ahead. When Micah walked into a room of the cave, he saw a tiny rowboat sized opening that revealed that this cave opened into the ocean. Then he saw it! Chests and chests full of something! If the one that was broken up was any indication, it was a hidden treasure that had rested their for the last seventy years. They were all shocked! An overview of the MOC:

[OL - FB3] Little Hermes trade ship
SilentWolf replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love the simplistic coloring of the ship which actually accents the design. Especially the wood features really make the ship stand out. I will echo Mike in that I am jealous you already have series 15. from Corrington. -

I love this build! The spinning jenny is one of the best technical items I have seen yet in BOBS. I give approval from Corrington. Though I don't know why you are not in Corrington with that kind of science. ;) -
Previous Builds Intro: Silent Wolf FB1: "Flying Colt" Ch1 CatA: Ahoy, Fishermen! While Silent Wolf and the crew were gone exploring on the "Flying Colt", Charles has been busy going back and forth between the office in town and the ranch. He is working hard to continue to expand the market for the horses they are breeding and training. Whenever a large potential investor comes around, Charles will often take him out to the ranch near Arlingsport to show their horses and training. Today he has a gentleman of Eslandola visiting the ranch to see what is going on. They have just brokered a deal for a lucrative contract over the course of the next two years.

Do we have a plan for a trade route on the MRCA? Or should I be finding my own group? I am not entirely sure how it all works but I am trying to figure it out. Also welcome to Corrington, Brickwolf! I like the theme of your sig fig and I look forward to seeing more of their storyline.- 897 replies

Wouldn't the 2F be the only free vessel that travels at a speed 3 leaving the rest of us running alone?

I love the upward and backward sweep of the stern. It gives the ship some nice character. I love the cannon construction as well. It looks plentifully armed to capture whoever they run across. Hopefully, you don't come upon my "Flying Colt"! +1 from Corrington

Intro: Silent Wolf FB1: "Flying Colt" After having sailed west from Bellson for several weeks, the crew of the "Flying Colt" spotted a large island ahead. They sailed around the island until they spotted several natives at the beach. What were they doing? Lowering the row boat, Micah, George, Caleb and one of the sailors rowed in to make their first contact. As they approached, they could see the men throwing nets into the ocean and hauling in all sorts of fish and sea life. The children were playing near the beach, while the ladies worked on animal hides that had obviously been recently acquired from a hunting trip. They were all dressed leather, covered in seed and shell ornaments. The adventurers landed and greeted these soon to be new friends. The natives had been surprised to see the large boat anchored a ways off. However, they were quite welcoming of these newcomers when they landed. The children appeared shy, but there was no fear shown by any of the natives. They invited everyone to a meal at their camp further inland. It appears that they are about to make some new friends. If all goes well, their voyage will have been a success.

I have a question that requires an official opinion I think. My business is going to be a horse merchant. In regards to classification, would that fall under a plantation as it is farm related with the breeding of horses or under commerce as I am selling the animals. (The advantage to plantation is I have more space to MOC, but the examples tend to grown items. OR should I have a ranch for a plantation and a office in the city under the commerce tag?- 897 replies
