  1. Thanks guys. I made an LDD of the suspension set up. I didn't put the body on as I'm sure others could do better! There are some bits I couldn't place, but it should be fairly straight forward to figure out. Have fun. LINK
  2. Greetings. I put together this little truck because I wanted to use the wheels from 8858. They are currently my favorite wheels Lego have produced! My main goal was to create some nice bouncy suspension using only the 6L links and soft shocks to connect to the main structure. It took a while to realize that if I crossed the 6L links diagonally, this would stop sideways movement of the axles! It also needed steering, which is controlled via the black gear on top. The doors open, but other than that, it doesn't do much! The body work needs a bit of refining. Especially the front. I think it would look better with a white bonnet (hood?), but I don't have the 5 x 3 curved bits in white. I've moved on to another project now, so probably will need the pieces..... Thanks for looking. As always, constructive criticism welcome.
  3. I see. I like the idea of controlling axles separately. Switching from 4 wheel, to crab, to 2 wheel steering in an instant! As for the style. Well, if everyone liked the same thing. Life would be pretty boring!
  4. Cool builds! They look very good. My only personal gripe is the monster truck. It leans forward too much for my liking. I would move the cab back a few studs and lengthen the hood. Can I ask why you decided to use two servo motors on the monster truck? All in all, a very nice project!
  5. Good work . I like how you managed to make the functions work without the use of linear actuators. Looking forward to version 2.
  6. Welcome back @grum64! I like reading about your build experiences. It always puts a smile on my face. Keep up the good work!
  7. Nathanael Kuiper's concept car would be top of my list. However, it needs some rather rare and expensive parts. I'd go with Pauls vampire GT or Didumos69's rugged supercar. I can also highly recommend anything by Madoca.
  8. OK guys. This is possibly the biggest dilemma I've ever encountered during my lego years. I've just bought myself the Porsche...... Do I keep the box or not? Usually I chuck the boxes away, but this is no ordinary box. What have other Porsche owners done?
  9. What a lovely piece you've created. The guy on the left looks like he's going to a black tie party. It's one of those things that looks easy to make, but in reality it's extremely difficult to get right! Out of interest, what are the pieces you used for paving?
  10. Very nice indeed. It's got the looks and the functions. I'm not sure about how much it lifts of the ground with the outriggers, but that's a minor personal issue. On the whole it's an awesome build! Plus 1 for an LDD file!
  11. Superb model. Well done. It looks great and the functions work very well. I'd love to see some pictures of the inside.
  12. Wow. That's incredibly well done. I watched the first video several times and it just blows my mind..... One motor?... Really? Like others, I'd love to see the internals. I'll follow this WIP with interest.
  13. Ah ok. Yes, that helps. Thanks. You sure got the compact builds nailed!
  14. Very nice little tribute. I love how you got all the original features in. How did you do the steering with the 6L steering links? I'm working on an 11 stud wide front steered axle with independent suspension myself and am having difficulty making it work. Have you any pictures of yours?
  15. Thanks chaps. @zux The driving motor is between the seats, bellow the IR receiver. The only problem with this is that the seats are a little too far apart! I do indeed have a shot from bellow, And as an added bonus, here's the LDD file.
  16. Nice MOD. Your pictures are lovely.
  17. Hi folks. I had a week of being sick, So I put together a little tribute model for the 8858 Rebel Wrecker. It has the original suspension and features with PF. Plus it's studless! Some pictures and a video; Sorry about the poor quality pictures. I don't have the time to make nice images. Also, I'm eager to take it apart! Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.
  18. Good evening folks. I am after a bit of advice from anyone who has sold their lego moc's or have done commissions. I have been approached by a company who have seen one of my models. They want to buy or have one made for them. My problem is that I have no idea how to quote for it. I don't really know how long it took me to make, as it was done over a long period of time, at short bursts of making. I know roughly how much the parts cost, but then I'd have to source new parts from various different vendors on bricklink or lego bits and pieces. I don't know how long that would take, and I don't know how much postage would be. Obviously I don't want to ask for exact figures from people who have done commissions, but I'd really like to hear thoughts on how to handle the situation! Thanks.
  19. I think it's a great truck too. How many models look like other models? Probably most of them..... I wish I could do that kind of work with system bricks. Well done.
  20. Hello Technic friends. I finally got round to making a video. It's the first one I've ever made, so sorry about the quality. I couldn't even figure out how to put music too it! As always, comments welcome. Have a good evening.
  21. Very nice. I like the shocks on the attachments and the overall look is well thought out and clean. Well done! My only criticism is the hubs on the wheels/tracks. It might just be the dark red. I'm not overly keen on the dish usage. Otherwise, a big well done!
  22. A little update.... I did an overlay picture with my model and the real machine blueprint. It turns out mine is slightly longer and slightly taller. And as an added bonus, Hear is the LDD. There are a few bits that didn't fit. I colour codded them so you can see where they go. There is also no bucket on the back as it's not in LDD (part no. 4700 ) And the pneumatic cylinders are brick built versions. I'll try to do a video in the next couple of days. Thanks for all the kind words. Have fun!
