Did I miss the review? All I noticed was a stop motion build. Andy D

There are probably many people who missed out on the original WV Toy Shop, and LEGO would most likely make a new Toy Shop different from the original and nothing says Christmas like a Toy Shop, so.... I would not mind a new Toy Shop. Just MHO, YMMV... Andy D

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Andy D replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A 32x32 modular is about $160, something almost equivalent in parts count to a 16 wide would be the Bike Shop, Cafe. It's about $90, so I really don't think we could see a 16 wide for half the price of a 32x32. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D -
Very nice! It looks just like Christmas in almost any small town, a very busy street with Christmas merrymakers. The lighting is just great! Andy D

I agree, something like a subway entrance might be good, but something that has track going through it or behind it would not be something that would interest me. Maybe the train fans would like it, but I suspect that is a smaller market than the typical modular market. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D

Same to everyone else! Have a wonderful and organized 2015. We're going to try something new... We're going to try making some pork tamales and some dessert tamales. Make 2015 a year of building, organizing and sorting. Andy D

Amazing! Cloud CooCoo Land joins Winter Village. This is just amazing, a real contender! That tilted window really has me scratching my head... Huh? How'd he do that? All the. Different Uni Kitties... Andy D

This is really amazing! Go "Old Timer" power. I guess I didn't look at this tight away because I was expecting an animal. Pleasantly surprised. I also like LT's idea about a bar... Ha, ha. Great detail on such a small scale. Andy D

Great build. Fits in perfectly with the WV theme and a bookstore/coffee shop is a perfect addition to the village. Good luck with the contest! Andy D

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I agree, I have also been thinking about a museum, but a library would be nice. I don't really care about interiors, I just enjoy an interesting architecture on the outside. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D -
You might give these two boxes from Sterelite a look. They are not "exactly" baseplate size (I believe they are a little larger)' but Sterelite make a bunch of clear boxes with latch lids. I use the 15 quart and the 66 quart for home LEGO storage. I just never thought of them as moving boxes. http://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-Deep-Clip-Box-Pack/dp/B004QJM0DG/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1418177914&sr=8-16&keywords=sterilite http://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-17571706-66-Quart-ClearView-Latch/dp/B003EH1GH2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418177914&sr=8-2&keywords=sterilite Good Luck with your move. I have not seen what you are looking for, but I would suggest that you pack your modular buildings by floor. LEGO can come apart during shipment, and if you only have one floor per box it should be easier to re-assemble as the loose parts would only be from one floor. Cardboard boxes would be much less expensive and you could use tape on labels with the set number and a dash to indicate the floor. Like 10197-1 for the first floor of the FB. IHTH Andy D

iPhone 6 Dolly
Andy D replied to Charbel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great job! Simplicity but lots of function. Using LEGO to make a small (table top) dolly to keep costs down. I would love to see more detail as I would like to try this as well. Andy D -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Andy D replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
This is a very good point. Because of the way the building is built it reminds me of a time when there were fewer corporate businesses and folks just pt built their businesses and houses as they pleased, this also provides for more variation among buildings. I am looking forward to more variation in the modular line. I like the DO, I have no complaints about the building or the story. The story could have just as easily been alcohol, but as we know TLG tries to avoid alcohol related stories when possible, except for the PR when talking about the engaged couple. Remember, LEGO is a children's toy and I think they do a pretty good job of catering to the adult group as well. For those looking for a more adult story, make one up for yourself. Andy D -

We're not going to start this again like it was with the PR, are we? Andy D

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Andy D replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Sounds like the program may be difficult to use. When I BL'ed my CC and GG I just looked for stores that had the bulk of needed parts and ordered like that. Sometimes I had to order different parts (not needed for the modular) from some stores that only had a few more difficult to find parts, but I used that as an excuse to buy different parts just for my inventory or for another future project. BL'ing a modular (or any large set) is not an easy task. If you read the thread about BL'ing the CC and GG you may find some who have been on the hunt for months. Luckily for me I was able to find most of the parts needed in less than a month. Good luck BL'ing! Andy D
