I just got started on the Train Station / Coffee Shop. I am impressed, there are some very interesting building techniques. I plan to completely build the building, then mod it to fit into my Winter Village as a Coffee Shop and ticket sales for the Village "Mall Kiddie Train". Right now I plan to reduce the base height (so it fits better into my village) and extend the Coffee Shop. I almost didn't buy this set, I am glad I did now, just for the interesting build if nothing else. Andy D

@aukevin Great coffee shop! I was planning on using the WV Train Station as a Coffee Shop, not interested in a train for my WV. Your MOC shows how good extending the main building looks. Thanks for posting this. Andy D

Wow! You could be my brother by a different mother. ;);) Andy D

It is a known "fact" that if your wife-husband-significant other says you have too much LEGO, you difinately (well maybe not) have too much LEGO! My wife says I will have too much LEGO when it encroaches on her space. That has not happened (yet). ;) ;) Andy D

@Chmashdehjare Is very right, it is not too much LEGO (usually) but not enough space. I have passed the not enough space long ago. It is not too much LEGO, just not enough of the "right" parts. I frequently find I am missing a critical "special" part. When I MOC, I use what I have, but when I try to build creations by others I frequently find I am missing a critical "special" part. I have cut way, way back on what I buy, I haven't bought any LEGO in several months, all I plan to buy the rest of this year is one more set, the 42069, Extreme Adventure. We'll see... i don't feel I have too much LEGO, just not enough time. Andy D

@Didumos69 Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I assume the silicone bands are the bands from LEGO. Is there any difference (other than color) between the white and red? Thanks again for sharing such a great project! Andy D

@Didumos69 and @Ivan_M Thanks for all your work making the instructions available! This model looks like a lot of fun to build and I plan to build it, but with what I have going on I am not sure how soon. In looking for parts, is the parts list generated by LDD any different than the one on Rebrickable? Rebrickable says I have 532 out of 537 parts, I just need to locate them. I need to generate a parts list so I can search my inventory, hence my question about the LDD vs Rebrickable. I can easily print the list from the HTML instructions from LDD if that is a good parts list, but I haven't found an equivalent list on Rebrickable. Thanks again, Andy D

@Didumos69 I'll second that! I am much looking forward to the completed model. I would like to build this as well! This is the coolest thing I have seen this year. I know your entry will do well its [TC12]. Thanks, Andy D

I think as you do. A 4 cylinder GoCart with a wacky turning function is wacky enough... Keep it wacky-classy! Yeah, right wacky and classy in the same breath. Andy D

I am liking the changes. The exhaust looks great! I prefer the second version of the headlights. Not sure how crazy you need to go visually. I really like the turning function, that is "whacky" enough. Keep it tasteful, you don't have to go too cartoony to have a great "whacky" vehicle. Andy D

What's the longest time you've ever kept a MOC together?
Andy D replied to mocbuild101's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My three long time MOCs are 1 from 2010, and 2 from 2012. Later MOCs have been disassembled. Andy D -
As a fan of both movies... This MOC is outstanding! Outstanding! Can you tell, I really like it. Brings back good memories, thanks. Andy D

This is great! Instead of having a castle in your mini golf, the castle IS the mini golf. I think I would actually buy this as a set! Andy D

This is very nice! I just may have to build this and try to find a place in my Winter Village for it, I will respond to your email. BTW: You mentioned a church, do you have instructions for that as well? Andy D

Double Bucket Wheel GBC
Andy D replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is really nice! I have be n looking for a compact GBC module to build, although I am not sure I could duplicate this. Anyway, I really like it. Did you use all the large rings and buckets from both sets? Where is the net from? Thnanks for sharing this! Andy D Have you thought of adding this to the GBC collection thread as well? -
Thanks, I will give that a try. Andy D

[MOD] 40th Anniversary Chassis
Andy D replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice! I notice right hand steering and a differential in your mod'ed version, and some changes to the undercarriage. Are there other mods? Andy D -
@JopieK, @dr_spock, Thanks for the replies. The LUG I was involved in was supposed to be an 18+, but some folks just thought they "had" to bring their children, and children at an adult meeting change the whole character of the meeting. The LUG was just getting started, trying to get RLUG status and several of them seemed more concerned with getting free LEGO than anything else. Also LUGBULK seemed to be a big deal with some as well. Also the events were always children's events. Absolutely nothing wrong with any of this, it was just not what I wanted out of a LEGO focused group. The German groups seem more what I am interested in, although I don't drink, but as long as no one gets stupid drunk, drinking is OK. I am really surprised that there are not at least some EB members from So. Cal. Maybe there are, maybe they are but just not interested in an AFOL social club. Oh, well... i guess I will just keep looking. Andy D

I have been looking for an AFOL social group. Not a LUG. I tried a LUG and I guess LUGs are service clubs to host and attend children’s activities. Children are great, but I am looking for adults with whom to share my passion of LEGO collecting and building. Not a club, just a group of adults who get together every once in awhile to share LEGO experiences. Any idea where to find such group in Southern California? Anybody here live in Southern California interested in starting something like this? Andy D
