  1. Over he past several days I have noticed that EB is sometimes running very, vvveeerrryyy slow, to the point I cannot use it. Anybody else having issues? Andy D
  2. I use several different types of storage solutions for my Technic (and all my LEGO). Like @Johnny1360 I use clear plastic stackable bins (I use the 15 quart size Sterilite bins and plastic freezer baggies). I also use Plano fishing tackle boxes for smaller items and Akro Mills bins for most of my more commonly usd parts. I just can't find a "one size fits all" solution, so I divide and conquer (er.. store). Andy D
  3. Great video! Thanks. From looking at the video I noticed two main things... 1. This Legoland appears much larger than Legoland in California USA. 2. This must have been the off season, or just a very slow day as it appears that there are not many people there. i am looking forward to the Miniland video. Andy D
  4. Very good video! Will you let us know how it was done? It always amazes me how the model is kept so stationary during the build. AndyD
  5. Thanks @Sariel for the update. Seems pretty good. One thing most folks seem to be missing is the smartphone or tablet integration. That could address many of the issues. We need to just wait and see. Andy D
  6. For many sets I sort, then build the main and alternate models. Some I keep assembled longer than others but after awhile I will either disassemble and put into my inventory or if I really enjoyed the building experience I will bag the parts, put back to the original box to assemble again later.
  7. Technic, followed by Modular Buildings and Winter Village. For some reason I have gotten into buying each and every Modular, even though I only have 4 Assembled. iI am more picky about Technic, I don't but just everything. I have gotten real picky. For Winter Village, I have the first 4, that I use each year and I only get sets that fit my display, the Chalet and a Winter Market got booted as they just did not fit. I do have Santa's place as a cornerstone and the Train station as a place to buy hot drinks and tickets for my "Kiddie train" Andy D
  8. Great F1 MOC! Thanks for the instructions. I have. A spare 42048, just sitting in the box... I may just build this soon. Thanks gain, Andy D
  9. The colors, the style, the design... terrific! Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  10. Wow! That is quite an accomplishment. I am afraid I am going to have to put off assembling mine until January as I just don't have room for it now. That thing is huge! Anyway, congratulations and as always I really enjoyed your journey with this set. Thanks for that. Andy D
  11. Just answering the questions--- • Would you like to see more contests? I like the contests, I do not participate in many because of my skill level, but it gives me a chance to see what some of the expert builders are capable of, it inspires me to improve. I would like to see some contests just for the less experienced builders. It would give some of the less experienced builders to win something. I have no idea how to select who is eligible to enter a “less experienced builders” contest though. The only contest I participate is Cop Mikes' Christmas Raffle, I really, really like that “not contest” I enjoy seeing all the imaginative entries. • What is your opinion of Tags (those small images on the left <—)? I like the tags, some show that some builders are very experienced have done. • Do you use, if ever, Eurobricks reference materials (ie. lists of Reviews, lists of MOCS, lists of Forums)? Yes, I do use the reference materials, and I like it that the reference materials are pinned (no matter how ling it has been since something was added) much of that older material is beyond value and cannot be replaced. • Have you participated in games on Eurobricks (ie. Role-Playing, Mafia, etc.)? No, I do not understand he games, but it seems that others have lots of fun with them. • Do you use/visit the Eurobricks Facebook page? Eurobricks on Flickr? etc. I mainly visit the EB Flickr or Facebook page when EB is down to see what’s happening. Is a problem on my end or the other end? • Do you post MOCs online? What hosting platform do you prefer to use? When I post a MOC, I use Flickr as the photo hosting site. • Do you prefer broadly defined threads or multiple specialized threads? I like both, broad threads are good, but specialized threads get to the point, like a review. I really, really like the reviews. • What is the first page you visit when opening Eurobricks on your browser? When I visit EB, the first page is the Portal page, it shows me what is new, then I go to my favorite sub sections after I have reviewed all that interests me on the Portal. Lastly, I really like it that EB is broken down it to so many different sections. My favorites are the General section, Town, and Technic. Lately I spend most of my time in Technic, but in the past I have spent time I'm Train, Star Wars. History and Science Fiction. Even the smaller sections are really good, as it gives folks interested in those themes a more intimate setting. Yeah, some sections are really small because of not much interest anymore, but they are still valuable. When I first saw this thread I promised myself that I would not write too much, but oh well. 12. I use Brickstuff lighting LEDs. They are very small. They are primarily a USA based company, but they may have resellers in Europe. You can check out their offerings at Brickstuff.com they seem expensive, but there is no soldering involved and there fit LEGO models very well. IHTH Andy D
  13. This is fantastic! I like it that it is modeled with a nod to real life buildings. I guess a 32x32 of something like this would be a mini or micro build. Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  14. LEGO is a part of me, my online self and my in person self. Most people I know, no matter what their age are fascinated about LEGO! Just this week I had some new shelves installed in my studio and the installers were extremely interested in my LEGO and they also knew some of the current LEGO happenings. Though they were not into LEGO themselves, they spent almost as much time looking at my LEGO and talking about LEGO as they did installing the shelves. It always amazes me how interested first time (and many time) visitors to my home are in my LEGO. i feel sorry for folks who have to keep their LEGO hobby secret for fear of ridicule. just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  15. I've not seen this discussed here before. But I got an email about Smugmug acquiring Flickr. So far I have seen no additional information, but I am still wondering... Does anyone have any knowledge about what is going to happen to all those Flickr links. It could be devistating to forums like EB if all those links suddenly go dark. I know that even if the active members change their links, there are many inactive members who have some very good content that will just go away. Does EB have a plan? Or am I worrying about something that may not occur! Andy D
  16. Your Stanced Car is really great. I also like the camera car you used in the filming. Do you have a video or presentation topic for the camera car? Andy D
  17. I think you may have invented a great new wedding reception product for LEGO fans. Great MOC! Andy D
  18. I just looked and they are currently sold out. Could someone please post here when the store re-opens? Many thanks, Andy D
  19. I can identify with this. To some degree this really applies to most of us. To some of us more than others. glad you are recovering from your LEGO mishap, I know the feeling. looking forward to your posts. Andy D
  20. Thanks for the diagram, that is sort of what I was thinking, but I also thought... nah, that's too easy. Also I missed the control for the red line section. Thanks for the explanation. I just makes me appreciate it more! Andy D
  21. Looking at the photos of your gearing makes this little model all that much more interesting. Now if I could just figure out how it actually works... BTW: I can't find your video. Andy D
  22. Wow! I really like this. So much function in such a small size. Could you show a video of it in action? Andy D
  23. Outstanding! I just saw this on Rebrickable today. I must build this! Thanks for sharing this great model. Andy D
  24. As long as I keep my LEGO contained to my "studio" there are no complaints. We both realize what we can afford, so there are no complaints when either of us spend on things we want. My wife even encourages me to spend time building, designing, sorting, whatever. I am now in the process of getting the closet in my "studio" converted to all shelves so my storage solution will be more organized. LEGO containment is the key to our agreement. Andy D
  25. Great little crane! Lots of details in a small scale. In some future photo could you put something in for a scale reference? Andy D
