  1. Try making sails for it, out of pink or purple construction paper. Tile the deck pink; see what it's like.
  2. Those molds were most likely made using Electrochemical Machining.
  3. The definition of a SHIP is a ship that is at least 100 studs long or wide. Such is called Class 1. Class 2 = 200 studs long/wide, and so on. No word on height. Do not recall where I read this. Probably Lugnet or Classic-Space.com.
  4. Also on Bricklink, you can sell the bleached black bricks. Make sure you say so in the description. Probably sell them all as an unsorted lot. Someone will buy them for filler (internal structures, etc.).
  5. That would be equally cool for displaying MOCs.
  6. At every L Store I've shopped*, the lid only needs to touch the cup's rim. That said, you get 2x the volume of 1 lid with 2 small cups. That makes 2 smalls a slightly better deal than 1 large. Even better if you pack those bricks in there like Pick-A-Brick. (My expression for stacking bricks to get the most brick for the buck. Instead of that Sardine expression.) *Bellevue, Wa, Tigard, Oregon, and Downtown Disney Anaheim. Any exceptions?
  7. There's Spider-Man taking a swing. The vegetation taking over the streets just screams Life After People, except here, the population is certainly more than 0. The frozen portion must be a window into the Day After Tomorrow. Whoever lived in one of those broken apartments was no doubt a Star Wars fan. The Doctor paying a visit is Win. The Brooklyn Bridge is now the Broken Bridge. And, is everyone (it seems) trying to Escape From New York?
  8. No. 5 seems to be misunderstood. If I'm understanding it, it means, can it be had as a set in stores? I've been asked that question a few times regarding some things I've built.
  9. I do not know what I would say if I saw a Galaxy Explorer in a LEGO Store. (in Lego store 23)
  10. Is it just me, or is there a horseload of horsing around going on lately? I know no one can talk to a horse, of course.
  11. If you have not already, you should definitely tell LEGO about this. Do send URLs for those pix, too. They need to see this.
  12. Or for populating your LEGO Neigh-borhood.
  13. If you cannot get any copper, you can cut up an aluminum beverage can. Be sure to sand with fine sandpaper, the contact points, because beverage cans are coated inside and out, and the coatings may interfere with electrical contact.
  14. At the start, you said you had to build double-thick walls to hide the toothy floor edges. The nice thing about double thick walls, is you can make the interior a different color. Very few houses are the same color inside and out.
  15. That isn't gonna be the one to call when there's something strange in the neighborhood, is it not it? Just don't cross the bricks while you're at it!
  16. It depends mainly on how many in each color you have. If you have 4 dozen headlight bricks, but no more than a few in any one color, putting them all in one container would work out fine. If half of your headlight brick population is of a single color, putting those in a separate container would make sense. Maybe set a threshold: More than X in a single color; put in a separate container. Less than X, put in same container with others colors numbering less than X. You'll probably have pieces that are so few in qty., that it would be best to lump them together in a single container. For example: 2x Tile 1x8, 6x Flames, 1x Technic Brick 1x6, 3x Slopes 18° 2x4, etc., instead of putting these in separate containers. In that case, If anything, sort only by category (brick, slope, Technic, minifig accessories, etc.)
  17. I've been a rebel landscaper, too.
  18. The first thing to come to mind is, Jamie and Adam taking one look at that and asking, "What kind of myths can we test here?". That's what happens when I watch too may episodes of their show.
  19. The large cups hold 32 fl. oz right up to the rim. The small cups 1/2 that.
  20. Cool. The only thing it needs, is a portalvator. Or are the lawyers too busy suing over the lack of it, for that to happen? Portalvator n. A vertical transport device used in multi-storey buildings, using quantum transportation technology. A portmanteau of portal and elevator.
  21. "Welcome to LEGO City. Population: Zero"
  22. That would be my idea also. The 9Vers can use foil tape until metal rails are released. I totally second labeling the tracks. Maybe put the number on a stud on each 1/2-sleeper. Like this: (88).
  23. I have both. And got them at the same time. Did you, Trippy? I also got Holiday Home at about the same time. Had the Yellow Roof thing going on here for a while. Regarding the question: I'm not sure there is even such a thing. TLG has put out so many Best Sets, that no one set stands out. My personal fave has to be this: My fave elements in this set are the cabinets (seen in the bottom center in the box) And my fave theme: And I second the Airport Shuttle. Really awesome when combined with M:Tron.
  24. Someone did lie about the free cake that was promised us last year. Oh, wait, I .Enjoy!
  25. Just imagine. That phrase is totally ripped off from LEGO! LEGO used to say that up until about the time the Bleys hit the fan (2003ish). Considering that it's just 2 words in the dictionary, the Ack-Ackers coulda thought it up themselves, though that seems doubtful, given the lack of imagination in these "toys".
