Yup, white is right. Otherwise, a light speckled color would make bricks stand out, since there's no speckled bricks, save for a vanishingly few decorated ones. If shopping for a table, take along some bricks of various solid and trans colors and shapes, so you can 'try before you buy'. Same goes for fabric, and any materials, if you are going to build your own table.

A different way to classify LEGO elements
splatman replied to 62Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The inverted tile, I would call "Tile, Inverted". After all, there is "Slope, Inverted", so it would make sense. The cheese slope, I personally consider a Sloped Tile, being 1/2-way between a tile and a slope. It's smooth (slopes are textured), has rounded edges (slopes have square edges, like bricks) and has the prying groove (slopes do not), so, that seems to put the cheese in a sort of a middle ground. That said, it could just as well have been classed as a "Tile, Modified". -
Checking to find out what the ghosts got for Christmas...

As I said upthread (msg. 14), I'm asking today, what did the sleepy boy find under the Tree?

Building with 45 Degree Angles - Question
splatman replied to Defaultsound's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I just tried looking it up at LEGO Online PaB, and at Bricklink; no dice. What on Earth is this thing called? -
Almost looks like Oktoberfest meets Christmas. Dezemberfest? When I read the Griswold in the thread title, I was thinking this was going to be a scene out of the film National Lampoon's Chistmas Vacation. Did you get the soundtrack from ModArchive.org?

LEGO Set Box Differences by Region...

What does that sticker (below Imperial Guards) say? Looks like True Value to me. Last time I checked, hardware stores do not sell toys. Are there some that do? Edit: Forgot the last W. -
Or make the area around the ruin look like it was scraped flat, like what usually happens before a house is built. Maybe add a ruined fence/wall to complete that effect. Add a few small hills or rocks around the ruined "homestead", especially over the tunnel entrances. Just some food 4 thought.

With the shutter falling the same way on both levels, it looks like even the decay of the place is haunted as well. Now, I wonder, what are the ghosts getting for Christmas? I'll have to check back on that day.

One small problem with a heated water tank in the dead of winter: Once they're in it, they're not gettin' out. Ever step into a hot shower after being soaked to the bone outside on a yucky cold rainy day? Multiply that experience by 11.

St. Nick is kinda Horsey. I know, if you have no deer, use horses. Just checked Bricklink; I did not know TLG did not make deer. Oh deer. It must be the boy who stashed all that lumber in the attic. He can't wait to become a carpenter. He musta put tools on his C-mas wish list. I'll check this thread on 12/25 to see if he finds any under the tree.

Dare? Double Dare? Cannot help but think of this: Dare: Build a Super Sloppy Double Dare set. DD: Build some Physical Challenge props to go with the set. TD: Build an Obstacle Course. BP: Make it a Stop-Motion Video! It'll be the Messiest Brick Flick in Cyberspace! Are you ready? On Your Mark, Get Set, GO! Give that a Splat!

Is Ned's hair removable? It looks like it is. Does Woody's hat fit? (Would look funny, though.)

Where's the image? All I see, is the link 'Posted Image'. I click on the link, and I get an error page.

Those 80's hard-to-press-together-and-hard-to-get-apart bricks may have been made in molds nearing the end of their service lives. My theory is, every time plastic is injected into a mold, the plastic "scrapes off" a few atoms/molecules from the mold surfaces, effectively changing the geometry of the mold, so each brick (and their studs) is an Angstrom or 2 longer, wider, and taller, and the inside likewise smaller, than the last one. After a few 100K molding cycles, the bricks are so much larger (and their insides smaller), that they squeak when pressed together. And hold together real well. Then someone at the factory says, "OK, these molds are a bit out-of-shape. Time for a swap-out.". They might then be used to make bricks for the Model Shops, where the extra clutch power may be little concern. Then the molds will get subbed in for gravel in their next batch of concrete.

Trans Clear LEGO Thru the years...
splatman replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Trans-opaque light blue: Just how on Earth is that not an oxymoron? If you mix transparent and opaque, you get translucent. If that's not the case, then what part of the Circular Square Universe is this from? -
Friend-ised? I would think "Friendified" would be more like it. Or maybe "BeFriended". Sure is colorful! Wonder how much color-crazier would it look, if it had lights all over, like the real thing. I would like to see a Frindified Galaxy Explorer, Mega Core Magetizer, castle, or Café Corner.

I LOLed! I'm not sure I wanna see those Smoking Cats. Puffin' instead of purrin'. @ BrickRally217: What kind of toothbrush was it? I'm thinking a Soft TB would do it. Or Extra Soft, if there is such a thing. The white "residue" might be micro-scratches from the brush bristles. Did you try scratching some off (maybe with a fingernail)? If it was Firm (or whatever the term) it would be best for removing the offending S in the thread title.

Trans Clear LEGO Thru the years...

The bottom middle 2 bricks look the same color as window glass. Ever viewed a piece of window glass thru the edge? That's what those 2 bricks look like. -
Look at the bright side, lady, you have got 20 more bricks then you would have otherwise. :D
