1H2015 Video Reviews
Lucio Switch replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A perfect way to start the first working day of the week! Thanks!! -
Started with Mocpages, good advantages that you have said (comment, group...) and a good layout for your Mocs, but it's true that is not so active (well, I have just answered to a question on my Tractor Truck, but this doesn't happen often), in addition, you can post only low quality pics (800x600 if I'm not mistaken), for that I have a Flickr Account, not a Lego community, but works good for the pics, before the Flickr, I done a Youtube account...Well, there's nothing to say in this regard.... I have recently started using rebrickable, I find it really good for the parts list and to manage your inventory (do the first inventory is another painfull story ), really useful if you want to share the instructions. I share my Mocs in all this platforms for different porpouse. Unfortunately I'm not able to access from work to Brickshelf or Bricksafe for server locking...so I didn't use them. For give you an idea of visualization I compare the data of my Tractor Truck (about two month old): Mocpages: 2258 visitor 46 "I like" 30 comments (my included) Flickr: from 750 to 1050 visualizations from 0 to 6 "like" 6 comments in total (values change because it's on individual photos) Youtube: 36940 views 198 "like" 5 "not like" 35 comments (my included) Rebrickable: not reached (well' I've not yet released anything) EB: 7129 views 94 comments (regarding the thread) To you the conclusions...There is to consider that Mocpages and EB visitors, probably, are only AFOLs, on Flickr and Youtube...probably not!!

I think that a central diff is needed for those vehicles that run on smooth surface with good grip. Without it, it would generate significant stress to the transmission and the tyre, probably causing loss of grip of one or more wheels and difficulty in steering and that's not the result sought. For surface with poor grip, there is no needed, I work on a vehicle with 8 wheels but only one differential, it's called "H" transmission, but its use is intended primarily off road. If you drive on asphalt road it will eat the tyres as if there were no tomorrow.

[WIP] Flying Brick
Lucio Switch replied to whale2's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't think that it will fly, but I'd love to be proven wrong! I tend to be a purist, I can understand the elements substitute to PF, but, for my personal opinion, glue and Lego in the same sentence sounds very bad. Anyway good luck and I hope you surprise us! -
hope so, also because I need the parts for a MOC that is in my head by a few months, and until I finish the instructions I don't want to take it apart. And I prefer build than doing instructions!

I hope not to be wrong, the F1, Unimog and Crawler rims are the same, the F1 and the Crawler are in black. I used 8 from two F1, four of them with original stickers (the 4 rear external)....they look so ...custom, and 3 are from the crawler. another thing ... we just started the testing phase of the instructions ....

Well, obviously between a 5MP DSLR and a 20MP DSLR some differences there must be, without mentioning everything else that a DSLR than 10 years younger, and of another level, should have. What I mean is that, it's not the camera that make all the difference, it's the knowledge of what are you doing, how to set the camera, the background and the lights in the proper mode. I'm using a Canon EOS 700D, it's a little less powerful than a 70D, but the differences between my pics and Jim's pics are not done by the camera. In any case, your photos are already cool!!

It's the first thing that I will do just end up my tractor truck instructions.... I have almost all the parts, but many of them are used on the truck.

Hello guys !! I have digitalized all the truck (ok, missing 6 PF cable, but they will be done ). The division step by step is done for a 85%, and I started the first 200 pages of the instructions. The work will be long, but I wanted to keep you informed on the progress!! Ahh 4600+ parts!! Bye

I agree, I think that, under these conditions, is the hand of the photographer who makes the difference, not so much the model of DSLR. Very cool pics, i like how you have placed the lights...I have to try..
