  1. I think it's just another way you can approach building. Picking the scale best to fit your needs is one way, smart way since it makes designing easier (however it requires a lot of experience to do the 'math' and make the correct choice - im not by far saying it's trivial or that it lowers the credit designer should get). Meanwhile, accepting the challenge to create your model in some particular size or 'in scale' to something else is different thing and it can be even more satisfactory if you succeed in it. I personally admire good creation regardless it's scale but I have some extra appreciation for these 'in scale' models (if greatly executed) because of the fact the designer was limited from the very beginning and all the way through. I'm myself trying to build a series of SW ships in particular scale and it's sometimes frustrating like hell, yet the feeling of figuring it out eventually is really special :) EDIT: By the way I'm sorry to hear that you don't consider building bigger invisible hand - there aren't many of those and I only know one, that is really wonderful, made by Mark Kelso. It appears to be really challenging build and many fail on it. I bet that if you got involved, we could have another masterpiece to comparison :)
  2. It's funny how simple does it sound from you, while you "by the way" created the best lego sith infiltrator ever :D (or at least best I have seen so far). Well done!
  3. Challenging project. Yet as Smitty said, it's quite strange to seek for general advices before you have even begun with some attempts. Remember that the head is quite big so if you plan to build it in real, you need reinforced neck and overal sturdy construction. Otherwise I think that building it in LDD won't be particularly great regarding all the tubing and curvatures. I'd probably start buidling some parts in real (regardless colors) and only use LDD if I suffer from lack of elements and/or for designing particular details. Anyway I hope it's not just your idle talk and that you will execute this project through. Also I wonder whether we can se some pictures of your Invisible Hand bridge? I'd be quite curious.
  4. Certainly the best Death Star build I have ever seen. Really good job!
  5. Cool! Whenever I start thinking that all possible versions of micro Falcon have been already made, someone comes up with another :D
  6. I really like how is it put together. Another masterpiece from you!
  7. I really like your entry and I wish I could vote. Unfortunately I submitted my alternate model (Tiger Head Trophy) aswell without noticing the fact it's supposed to be 'vehicle' :/. I saw this contest on the last day about 3 hours before actual deadline and somehow overlooked that one word in contest description. However, my entry was approved along with some other entries, that are neither vehicles so I don't know whether it's fine to try to get votes for it or... Anyway, your Walking Chair is my favorite and I hope you win!
  8. Hello, it seems that image links are broken. EDIT: Sorry, not really. I just noticed that you link from your BS gallery and it's whole BrickShelf being down at the moment :/
  9. What an interesting reading! Thank you very much Blakbird for putting this up. It must have been a lot of work - huge contribution from you. I'm a big fan of Akiyuki's work and I dream of building some contraption myself - thanks to your study, I'm one step closer for sure. Thank you again! Kristof
  10. Very good stop motion build - I like and appreciate. Regarding your fire madness, I stopped the video after about 2 seconds. Maybe you had some reason for doing that (eventhough I dount I'd find it reasonable) but I see none for watching it myself. Someone said what you did was disrespectful - along with disgusting and disgraceful, these are one of the long line of DIS-ish adjectives I would use if I had to describe your video. I hope you will stick with high quality animation and avoid fire or other destruction methods.
  11. Man this IS really cool! Where do you keep getting such a great ideas...? Beep beep bird bounty hunted and trapped in carbonite :D One of the most humorous creations I have ever seen!
  12. That haircut is much better now :) Excellent work. I wish there was some big event celebrating this anniversary :D
  13. ^Huh? Hasn't he just presented us the picture of finished model? Anyway, I relly like how it turned out. I'm sure that It will be even better with propper dark bley round pieces and new windscreed, yet this dish looks surprisingly well on it already. It's great how quickly have you managed to put it together. I wish I were somewhere closer to Carlsbad than I actually am :D (Europe).
  14. Yay!!! In the new Speed Champions Mclaren Pit Stop set LEGO produced one of the last 3 non existing parts I have on Venator - Slope Brick 18 4 x 1 in Light Bluish Gray. From all missing parts this was the only one I'd struggle to substitute. Now nothing stands between me and real build... well, except me not having this part and most of others :D But at least there's a way.
  15. If there's nothing but one 4x3 plate hinge than I'm quite confident those triangular panels won't hold in place very well. Otherwise, regarding deaign, it came out pretty well. Looks a bit dull without windscreen printing but still cool and I think it would look even better in real without all these digital edges.
  16. I'd love to make smart comment full of detailed praise on this beauty but I just lost my words... I probably need to digest i'ts size and detail for some time. Wow.
  17. That's a serious rancor hunt! Brilliant cave and perfect details. I rwally like these black plants - along with bones and skeleton parts it really gives the impression of death.
  18. Bob, I'm curious whether you have any sketches, drafts or prototypes you used and worked with when first designing shie beauty in LDD back these days. If you do, I'd love so see them. I can't stop wondering about the complexity of the construction, especially since you designed in virtual software. I feel (based on my own experience) it's actually in some way harder than working in real bricks you can pick up by hand. I'm doing some LDD design myself and I often deal with lack of inspiration of which part to use - thus I'd like to know what stands beyond this masterpiece and to learn from excellent designer.
  19. That new windscreen technique is stunning. May I ask whether you use some... custom part to lock those two modified plates (the bottom screen holder and the steering holder) together upside down? Or does it hand by only with help of these windscreen pieces?
  20. ^No offense but have you just bumped 2 4+ year old threads with almost the same comment? This post has even non-working picture links man. No wonder since its 2009... Now this is stealing the spot in most recent threads where some current stuff belongs :/
  21. Cool speeders. I like the color scheme.
  22. It's the first time for me to see this vehicle - never noticed this before. It's great build, looks really good.
