  1. I don't know... Mabe it's about everyones eyes but for me it looks that if there is something on that picture that could qualify for being white, than it's that R2-D2 in the back :D I agree that ATAT is more typical gray in this pic than MF is but still, far from being snow white. And that thing with being closer to white on RGB scale, I'm hard to believe that. :D That's right indeed.
  2. Where does the idea of white MF come from? I just don't get it. Even on the picture you attached it's more of gray (very light but hey... not white) And that picture is quite solitare, probably strangely enlightened but even so, go ahead and change the backhround from black to white and see what you get. Then tell me again that MF is white :D Moreover, on the vast majority of pics, movie, or game, MF is indisputably light gray with some darker bits. Also look at gazzilions of model (kit or custom) rendition. Still solely gray. Yea, maybe a tiny bit lighter and a bit into sand color but... I'm wondering how's come there even was a debate about which color is more accurate. It seems really odd to me. I'd have noithing against such mod if you called it something like 'winter camouflage color sheme for MF'... But any claim that this is beating light gray in accuracy is divine :) Maybeeeee if lego white was something like sand-grayish-white but with current snow white (yeelowing with time) it seems nonsense to me.
  3. This is turning out very nice! Looking forward to see more updates :)
  4. I see, and what are your feelings about the used parts from BL? Any excessive wear? I'm asking because I have only purchased new parts so far - a bit in fear of buying used :D
  5. Hey Soul. I notice there are quite a few brick in old light grany in your build - is that intentional or have you ordered them to save some cash? Also (maybe you said it before but I can't find it), have you aimed for new parts mostly?
  6. After clicking on that title, the actual content of your post is quite big disappointment :/ That title is like from gutter press...
  7. Very nice! Redagrding the debated disproportion. I agree that the cockpit is slightly bigger in all directions but it's especially accented at it's front. Not greatly off, maybe about one stud. But in this scale it's quite remarkable. Great MOC though!
  8. I wasn't very outdriven by your several last projects but this is really good! I like the shape and the use of that ramps is very original. Actually quite efficient way to build SHIPs haha :) If I were the judge to the contest, you'd get a nomination for original design from me :)
  9. This is what I think will astound the judges. Great conceptual work. Does this mechanism for turning the wheels 90° actually work? I'd like to see the technical solution behind that.
  10. Masive. I have no clue how that 4 axle transmission through the turntable can work - I always thought you need to go directly through the pivot point :O Anyway, I'm impressed by the complexity and functions. Regarding overal look, I thing there are better entries. This reminds me old russian army transporters. And the hull looks a bit undersized in comparison to the rest of the vehicle, especially that massive arm. Still this is technic masterpiece, no doubt. Good luck in the contest!
  11. Well this is really impressive, I mean... jawdropping impressive! The complexity and amount of fuctions is probably the highest I have ever seen on this kind of lego contraption. Very well done Filip!
  12. Wind tourbines striking again :D Anyway, great, great build! No crazy futurism but decent evolution, which is what I like. And both shape and colors are really cool!
  13. Man... I love this shape! I really gotta start working on propper MF MOC (bricklinking this is far unaffordable for me ) I'm thinking of about 1/2 - 2/3 size, custom design. Can't stand not having this icon any longer
  14. Yea, indeed. Though I think that conscious lego fans should give some negative feedback on such set. So far lego see that whatever set they flesh out, most people are still happy to pay high prices and go like "heeyyy, that's soo coool set. it has spring loaded shooters and even Kylo Ren figure!!!". I don't mean we should only look for errors, yet considering how expensive lego is, I think people are too easily impressed. And that aplies the more for new TFA sets, price of which can't be excused by number and value of the bricks.
  15. I'm not sure where but I saw some prop picture showing shuttle with retracted wings. It was, however, suggesting rather 'slide-in' (or 'retract' if you want) function of the top part of the wing - not this strange lever parallelogram motion thing. It would be even bigger nonsense if there wasn't any function like that (how to ruin design with needless function like a king :D ). But I think the designer should have ignored this function and rather focus on wing tilt mechanism. I have heard however, that lego might have had incomplete information about this vessel so perhaps the designer hadn't been acknowledged with that V mode and when they found out, it was probably to late to make an changes. There we are touching a general topic - why should we have sets long before the actual movie is out? Wouldn't it be better to wait several months, collect all info and produce much better models? Not even talking the spoilers included :/
  16. The only thing that I could possibly give thumb up on this set (except minifigs) is the cockpit part. Unfortunately, it's fully outshined by these terrible wings... so far people only complain by it's angle but I wonder how can you guys be ok with that 'underside' which is actually facing up in V mode and which looks just terrible...? I feel like the designer put zero effort in making these sides at least a bit eye pleasing. He just implemented the (rather controversial) folding function, added several random parts for reinforcement, some black inverted dishes along with couple sticking-out red techic pins and movie inacurate trans red plates for even more classiness and there we go, ready for manufacturing! Ok, it's play set, not UCS... and perhaps rigdity is more important than look.... and that folding function was probably quite tricky to implement. But still I think the end result is awful and doesn't meet the design quality of average lego sets. Am I the only one? Anyway, all of these mods are good, improving the original set rapidly. Though for me it would need quite dramatic change to those wings rather than just changing the angle.
  17. Really good job on this mod. It definitely improves the original by a lot. Yet I can't help myself thinking this is really not a good set. The cockpit section looks alright, not really astounding but fine. Yet it's fully outshoned by the 'underside' of these wings (which is in fact no underside and is even more exposed in V position), which executed terribly and for me it totally ruins the overal look. I really don't understand how could they have released something like that and I wonder how people can be so pleased with this set.
  18. I just built the assembly and tested and it's exactly like GuyDude and Fuppy said. Furthermore I managed to close it even with hands down, it just requires to 'force' these hinge plates between the hands. That isn't entirely comfortable but once you move the arms up (hands in front of the face), everything opens and closes freely.
  19. Very nice! I really loved your C3 and R2 and this new BB8 fit's them perfectly. It's quite fantastic how accurate you managed to build them in sucn small scale. Applaus from my side ;)
  20. ^ 80% of most sets... huh I'd very much doubt that. Whenever I need some parts I check PaB first and in most cases it fails to offer that part. You can hardly expect lego to sell these special pieces (printed windscreens included) - not only that such pieces are more difficult to make, thus more expensive. It's also very likely that lego run limited production batches and lastly these parts increase the value and popularity of some sets.
  21. Are you sure that every other brick for x-wing is available on pick a brick?
  22. Would it be odd to say that this is better than A and B models... umm, together? :D Excellent job! Hard to believe there is so little unused parts. Wow.
  23. Buying lego sets can be quite expensive in this case but if you are into bricklink, I'd suggest you to look at some AT-RT MOC's - you can find some small but good looking renditions that could be cheap to build. 2 or 3 of those would add a lot to the diorama. The same goes for small crab droids.
  24. That disappointment when you click on that thumbnail image just to find out it's the actual size :D :D 'zooming the pixels' I like the back! I realized that 3x3 wedge plate would cause more problems than it would contribute since there is no way how to 'fill in' that remaining small wedge. This is good enough.
  25. ^Seing him holding the extended boom at the very beginning with one hand, I don't think his 4x LA mechanism will fail on raising this. Of course it will depend on how close to the pivot point will that pisten be fixed. The further the better on both superstructure and the boom.
