  1. The back profile seems a bit to roundish. It's more angular irl (lol, 'irl' always soudns weird regarding fictional items). Anyway, wonderful design. That underside is slick :) I like these MOCS whoch don't go overboard in weird fragile techniques and rather maintain solid structure while still being accurate enough. Good job!
  2. Your question trigers my skepticism alarm :) Building a custom BIG MF is hell of a dofficult project that only skilled builders dare to tackle. And building it with interior is whole another league... I don't think there are any instructions or complete LDD files for such thing. Check out the MF built by EB member ScottishDave for example. Or there is another ongoing WIP build done by EB member Kit Bricksto - these both fit your description. But man, such things require huge dedication and skill, not talking the budget. I don't wat to be Mr. Discourager but without much experience with designing your own MOCs, this seems like huge bite to chew.
  3. congratz! it looks spectacular in real. I liked it on renders but now I see it barely did it justice :) Very nice,
  4. @kibosh Regardless of what I believe, you were in fact the first who only raised a question about potential fraud without commenting on the creation at all ;) Anyway, don't get me wrong, I don't want to be anyones judge or lawyer - I also wish that Shawn has Marshal's blessing as it would be for the best. I would just suggest not casting an unwarranted shadow on still impressive work. Also think about how different model would it have to be for you to acknowledge it as original already. Hard question for me, I must say. Also Marshal took some parts from Psiaki's amazing draft, which was (as Shawn points out in his video) probably the first one to use such outline for cockpit area, side structures and the paneling... should he also be included in some way? I know, I'm nitpicking right now. Just trying to point out that 'original' is also relative. That being said, every conscious lego fan who is in SW models does recognise MB's model as outstanding and in a way revolutionary. And I see Shawns recreation as more of a tribute than a scam, really :) Assuming good intentions is the way out anyway ;) Haha :) these two knobs certainly add a lot of character and break down the gap line so it's less obvious. But still it is pretty obvious and if I had to name a flaw of MBs design, this would be the one. You are probably right and you got it right just like MB. Are you 100% positive its unavoitable though? Perhaps this is the right place to improve on that otherwise flawles skin :) In the end, this is the angle MF is usually viewed from, very significant feature. I don't have that much insight though, but I would try letting the panel float a bit more, probably trying to use small balljoints and hoping to find a proper placement for at least three point fixture while being slightly more tilted to reduce the gap. But hey, maybe it's really quite impossible :)
  5. ^ Reverse engineering someones MOC jsut out of several pictures (as far as I know, there isnt a hige reference material or exceptional WIP build cocumentation from Marshal) of this size is achievement enough. A lot of actual designing must have went into other than just building certain outer details according to Marshal's build. Plus, making a quality instructions is even more laborious and tedious work and not many builders are willing to take that spend the time. I am a big believer in fair play and giving appropriate credits and i think this is just ok. Of course, it would be nice if direct permission from Marshal was granted - maybe it is, right? - but nonetheless this doesnt seem like exploit to me. Even with this higher pricepoint for instructions, I dont think the profit can go very high, given how many people would actually buy it. Most likely this makes for only small income to compensate for all the time that went into. No evil here for me :) EDIT: Btw I like the build, though I still like Marshal's one better, It feels like some minor details are missing, which makes yous look a bit flat. Also I dont like this big gap between mandibles and front top hull plating, again this is smaller on Marshal's - perhaps has to do with some slightly illegal builds you mention? All in all, although Marshal excellent photography may contribute as well, his model would be the one I'd pick of these two :D
  6. Good model. I like your take on the cockpit. Thats hard part to do well and your look better than most I ahve seen so far. What I don't like is the top fin. Using plates for that is sort of dated and really the 'bottom' side looks ugly. For moving wings, this sort of can be aplologized but the top one really needs brick built structure.
  7. Greater than many actual MF sets. Good job.
  8. Cool contraption. I would like to see this working with something more substantial than 20t gear and just and indicator for turning. Though this is probably limited in size either by drive axle lenght or by ists possible twist when it gets longer... pethaps someone can think of a bracing for these 'screws' so these wont have a tendency to slip or bend out of place.
  9. I like it very much. Even the wheelarches do stand out a bit to much, I think it somehow adds to the aggressive character. I also don't mind that the bodywork panelink is lnow particularly smooth and has a diverse part selection - in the end I think it blends together nicely. Cool lights, cool doors (could be less like a catapult blast though :D ), great overall look. Very well done!
  10. Regarding that dish, I suspect these sellers buy them from B&P directly from lego. Unfortunately that means these are always out of stock in LBG. Otherwise lego price those at about 1€ ...
  11. Anio, when sharing the links for report, could you please go the extra mile and share the listing on UK or US ebay pages? Or whatever country in fact, just so it is in english? I always want to help but I struggle in finding where to click on these french websites and I usually have to spend a while finding the auction on some readable version of ebay.
  12. Georgeous... I usually try to put in meaningful comments but this is just to nice.
  13. Magnificent! I joint Raskolnikov in admiration for that rim. It is nailed. I'd only wish that the connection could be done using some more say 'official connection' rather than just 1by plates. But heck, still perfect as it is. Probably the only portion where I can see a scope for improbvement is the back side where top hull plates meet the control tower asembly. The way there is a gap beneath doesnt look as convincing as the rest of the build.
  14. That's really cool! Only perhaps it would be nice to get two guys shooting to speed up the action - now it delivers balls fairly slow, most other GBC things spit balls much faster :D
  15. Are you sure that flat edge without teeth is typical? I live in Europe and most backhoes I have seen in my life had teeth (jcb, komatsu, cat...). Sure, you do spot one with no teeth quite often too but I would't think these are more common. Btw what I think would be cool is that opening front bucket! Would that add to the cost a lot? Because if not, and if the opening mechanism was designed to be used with small pneu cylinder, that may justify the cost.
  16. This is a YES from me! :D Fantastic model.
  17. As an alternative, you may also consider using small balljoint technic links (Parts 32293 or 2739). I believe that could offer enough freedom while being relatively sturdy.
  18. Very nice! That shape is very interesting and it seems like much more complex build than a classical wedge! I really like your design, perhaps except these turbolaser turret 'towers' - these round bricks look somewhat medieval, and these blue accents around the hangar areas. Othewise it's wonderful!
  19. No Judy Hops in it :D such a shame! Brilliant model Sheo!
  20. :D I wondee how much of the image area is just background. For sure the model would fit in less than a quarter area. Perhaps if you only rendered the ship with 1/4 resolution , it would cut the time even further with the very same resulting detail ;)
  21. Very decent progress! I agree on longer tail, but not by that much. Three to four bricks longer and it should do the trick :) Isn|t it possible to replace these two 4x4 45 degree wedge plates on the wings with single 8 by 8 one? You would get rid of this ugly cutout dent in there and also obtain more rigid construction.
  22. Then it's wonderful! Ho rigid is the build btw? On scale 1 to 10 from super flimsy to rock solid hammer replacement? :D I barely ever swoosh my models, but I'm kinda obsessed with structural strength :)
  23. For me, you improved it magnificently with your last update. Until then I was following this project with somewhat mixed feeling about the looks. I couldn't name what was wrong but somehow I didn't like the bodywork and the overal looks. Now I totally love it! Btw, that grey accent rim around windows has made great impact on the looks! I kinda like it there :D It may look just as good with orange but now I would almosz vote for it to stay :D
  24. ^Spoilers make a lot of sense here, valid choice when you have a bunch of sort of sidetrack images to share. If the images displayed right in the spoiler when exploded, that would be alright. As for now I agree it's a bit inconvenient :) Perhaps you could have included all in one spoiler as well, but hey, thats not a big deal. About a LDD file, of course, that's always favorable. Or perhaps to try Mecabricks for even easier sharing? But I wouldn't dare to complain if you haven't done any of it - I know very well that re-building completed models (especially those with tricky connections and compound angles) in LDD after you have finished it is not the most enjoyable task in the world :D I'm just painfully building one of my models in LDcad because several people ask me for instructions and I am pulling their patience for more than a year now and still not done with it :D
  25. Well as a matter of fact, 18 MP is really pointless on any standard size screen anyway :) But if you link your images from flickr according to the guide, people can click on them and head over to flickr where they can zoom and enjoy the resolution. Still, from my experience as a viewer, it's much better when the pic is in something between Full HD and UHD max, so the zoom on flickr isn't to extensive.
