For the 2. half of 2014 retailers are ordering their stock around these times. so lego hasn't had any obligations to retailers to keep the taba sets for summer. Also schedule changes is due for the course with movies, toy companies and retailers are aware, and im sure it's some part of the contracts. Lego hasn't lost money due to the 3 movie split, it has given them an oppertunity to sell more sets for longer, Sure part of it is annoying to them, but thats the deal with lisences.

I think it looks more movie accurate the way i showed. Making it include the full length of the wall and not jsut the opening gate part. The compact-ness of it work within lego's scale. http://www.lotrscene...he_Black_Gate(6).jpg

The bonus level has alot of building thats clearly not designed for sets at any point.
-
but thats cause the trilogy split only happened a few months prior, too late for lego to change their plans.

Uh, so few x-men sets and they use magneto several times..

I kindof don't feel that matters. We already have a frodo/sam/gollum set, and theres not realy much action going on at mt doom. From legos point of view battle of pelenor fields is the main part of rotk. Besides they already released a et containing the action that happens when sam and frodo are doing their business. The black gate battle.

Galadriel is armored during her "possed" thing in lord of the rings. We are talking about the palace guards as being someone we'll never get. All the palace guards are armored. the captain or whatever he is, is not wearing a helmet though.
-
I thought it was pretty clear we'd never get the palace guards when they weren't in MEA, We should be getting the armored mirkwood soldiers next wave though!
-
Eh, thats subjective, The lack of certainc characters in minifigure form is more important than the balrog and the fell beasts. Mainly Faramir and Eowyn are particularly missed.

I don't think he's correct, I've been keeping up with these movies very closely and do not recall seeing that anywhere. This guy might have seen some fan made teaster trailer.

It smells like lotr to me, They wouldnt release hobbit sets in october surely? then again the release month might be soemthing random they picked for 2. half of 2014. Maybe they find lotr sells more closer to the rest of the middle earth mayhem/marketing? just 3 sets for TABA sounds suspicious, but we only got 4 sets this year so who knows. As soemone else pointed out, the website does say LOTR/HOBBIT when translated.

thanks for the review. that Minifig head is really attractive it's ncie that we get soe variety in the random soldier heads. With this and the ohan soldiers heads been on the grang-y side, lets hope the gondorien solder(please) has a more brown colored beard.

If they are hobbit sets i hope to god there will be more than 3.....

do you want it at the expensive of something else we haven't got 2 sets of already?
-
Well, lego constantly works with WB on alot of things, and nothing stopping lego from lisencing for 1 more set unless some other brick company has the lisence. It's not like the back to the future set didnt happen.

Your opinion on the quality of the design is somewhar irellevant. If you want any Minas tirith lego set at all you should support it. Lego DOes not copy the design from the lego projects, they take the idea and make it into their own design. If you want a minas tirith but don't like that particular design you have the option to write that into the form you get before supporting.
-
If you like this specific model or not, you really should support the project in order to show LEGO we want mroe lotr aswell as mians tirith to get made. (just to be clear I didn't make this model or project) http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/36275 2400 supporters isn't bad. But I think we can drive the numbers up a bit. Even if the lotr line technically ends, WB and LEGO still has a good relationship so the potential for it to get made in the future is there.

THE MOVE TO DECEMBER HAPPENED AGES AGO.
-
The thing might indeed be that WB/LEGO is doing the lego movie sets that summer instead of lotr.. wich i hope isent the case, because the overlap is kindof nonexistent. but theres no lone ranger type sets in 2014 right?

If we get a new warg color I think it should be in redish brown. But I do believe we got a gray warg first eyar cause of how the movie developed. But this year we got a dark brown one because that is what lego think they should be acording to the movie.
-
Because the minifigure designer has that in mind. Doesen't matter how many we get in sets. He knows people who care buy and sell figures to end up with waht they want more or less. If you're not gonna include named minifigures in the "battle packs" Then I feel atleast one of the soldiers should be unique to the set. On top of that I'd get really annoyed if they made some weird soldier and left some prominent characther unmade in lego.

Why exactly do you think that? It's the hobbit that 'is due' for a d2c exclusive set. Lotr got it's with Orthanc. Beh that sounds like a huge waste.
