Those are not the 3rd age Gondorian shields.... These are, yes they are a little curved up top, but the overall curve of the roman shield fixes that, the hard edges of the troll shield gets all wrong.

He mentions no size, the orde is propably just random or follows how they were displayed in some way.

The fact that he calls it a "nondescript structure" seems a bit suspicious though.. If it was the entrance /mountain wouldn't he have been able to say that?! Heres my attempt at a Erebor throne anyways.

Keep in mind that mold was made ages ago, lego has improved alot since then! I'm aware, but they didnt have a clue it seemed and the suppsoed set with Dain wasn't on show As for the Boar, the actor who plays Dain has mentioned riding a boar, this was before he filmed so it might jsut have been random chatter..

The descriptions from the toy fair makes it sound like another mines of moria/balins tomb set. Not anything like an entrance/statue.

What no no no, the gondorian shield is not that shape. The roman soldier shield would be much better for gondor despite the stud.

Well lego already covered Beorn. possibly they even covered him from the TABA events he partakes in. Not the bear version sure. but he's covered overal. Thranduil aswell plays a fairly major part in taba, but lego covered him in dos lego sets so we propably wont see him again this year.

we didn't get pictures uintill new york toy fair. It was certian lego themes they werent allowed photographing.

Last year i think the lotr sets were not allowed to be photographed.

Why would they do it? For movie accuracy. And it's what lego does as doctor jones mentioned: cave toll and goblin king both got new molds.

Erebor and thranduils realm both have beautiful exteriors, theres also rivendell. That was made for the 2007 castle sets. Lego makes 1off molds all the time..

Yeah, and I do think it makes sense to make a d2c set for the hobbit seeing as it has stayed around for 3 years growing its audience and will be a good way to end the completed hobbit trilogy

The dvd release will priably be same time they released AUJ wich was April

We'll it's not nessecarily been confirmed. but it doesen't really need to be. Well the Eagles act on their own behalf, ergo they are their own army. the bats/orcs/wargs acts on behalf of sauron so they combined are one army. then theres laketown Mirkwood and erebor(company)/ironhills
