  1. I was thinking more 'Lara Croft', actually.
  2. It's not about anything like that. It's litterally about volume sales and import taxations. The USA is a society based on mass consumption of luxury goods, with a very dense population. The unit price of an item is inherently lower, as it's guaranteed to move bulk volume. No other country can keep pace with the American market, and so the unit price is reflective of the market conditions. I'm in Canada, like right next door. Prices are consistently higher here on identical products. This is perfectly acceptable because we just can't provide a market to rival our southern nieghbors (I think the state of California has more people than our entire country). We also have higher taxes on incumbent products than Americans choose to impose. I don't understand why people take issue with this seeming discrepency? It's not about LEGO or thier desires. It's about the market, and what it allows. The LEGO Group doesn't set out to price things all over the map, but responds to what any given market will support. :D
  3. Huh. Double points? I was planning on grabbing a few modulars I've been eyeing next week to get Spacemen with, but I might have to wait on all but one now. This is almost cruel, as I'd kind of hyped myself into being full excited to build some modulars (I currently don't have any).
  4. It's pretty much all about the Battle Goddess for me. I just love everything about her. I think the only one I don't care for is the Space Miner? Other that Benny's Spaceship, I don't have any space LEGO. It was never really my thing, even as a kid.
  5. Aye. I'm def going to try the 'feel' method. I don't need three sets of these (one of each will suffice), like I have of the Simpsons. That's an insane savings. I actually feel like a bit of an idiot right now.
  6. Huh. I just assumed that people bought these by the case. I didn't even think to 'feel' for the one's I'd want, and I have the worst luck with just random grabs (or so my legion of 'Taco Tuesday' guys can attest, hahaha).
  7. I take back all the horrible things I said. Those sets actually look fantastic! I'm not a massive Mincraft fan, but I'll def be grabbing a couple of these. The 8 in 1 box and the Ender set are 'must have' for me!
  8. OMG! I love the cargo print on Dino Tracker girl's legs! That's amazing. :D
  9. Pretty much. LEGO is unique in that it offers parents affordable options for random gifts, and more elaborate sets for occasions like Christmas and birthdays, yet all of it contributes to a larger whole. I'm quite sure that there are kids with a couple of movie sets that are still jonesing for Spaceship (or whatever) come Christmas. The new sets will start the cycle anew in the coming year. :D
  10. I'm super jealous. My parents let all of our old toys go many years ago. My recent resurgent interest in Lego has me longing for my old sets...and my colletion looked nothing so fine as yours. That must be a full trip to build and revisit! :D
  11. Right? The Copper Chopper and Wilstyle's barnyard cart are really the two builds I still want to see. It seems like we might get the latter in this next wave (although, the pricepoint suggests perhaps not). Those two builds, and the two (as yet) unreleased citizen vehicles would pretty much make my life. I can live with or without any Bat-related builds, as we get tonnes of great Batman stuff all the time. :D
  12. That's kind of a silly line of reasoning, no? Because you want to buy other things, LEGO shouldn't release bigger sets that you'll want? That's pretty much what ou just said. I dunno. It's up to everyone to get the sets or not. That's fully a personal choice. I don't see the logic behind 'they shouldn't release stuff because I might want it though'. These are mass market sets with a pretty long shelf life. If one comes out that you want, but you don't have the money at the moment, you can still acquire it. I think the entire Lego Movie line set me back less than 1500$ CAD, including limited releases that I missed out on and had to buy on the secondary market. That's not such a huge sum, that I think even the most casual buyer could justify inside of the two year release window, no? I dunno. I didn't realize I was being obnoxious by lamenting the lack of a larger build in this next wave. It's just more fun when there's meat to the build. :D
  13. Aye, Cheetah or Circe would be amazing! I'm not going to hold my breath though. Circe seems to have fallen off DC's radar these days. She's made...one appearance since the New 52 launch? In a B-list book that was cancelled on it's eighth issue? :/ Cheetah seems likely. She's a major DC villain all around.
  14. And it was glorious, no? There were several hours of building in those three sets! I realize that they can't all be larger sets, but I figured there'd be at least one in the next wave? At least this way people who didn't want to go in for some of the larger sets can get key characters though, so it's nice all around. Everyone needs Benny in thier life. :D
  15. Ecch. Really? All little sets? That kinda sucks. I'm sure they'll be awesome, as everything from the movie line has been so far...but I was kinda hoping for a larger set. I'm not a huge fan of builds that are finished as soon as you take them out of the box. Hopefully this is just the first wave, with even more on the way in 2015? :D
  16. Nah. Diana's had her rumbles with pretty much all of them over the years. Pretty much anything Greco/Roman is appropriate for her. :D
  17. The Ultra Agents stuff is pure genius! Every set is pretty much 'must have'. I wish they put as much thought into the Superhero sets as they do to these. I'd highly recomend all of these, as they work really well with your heroes too. :D But as for the Infinity Gauntlet, I don't see why it can't just be part of Thanos' sculpting? It's not really a 'thing' unto itself, but the manifestation of the collected gems. Removable studs and such contradict it's nature (as, removing a gem would mean it ceases to exist). I get that he doesn't always have it on, but something as simple as removeable hands (ala other big figs), with an alternate being the Gauntlet, would suffice. No?
  18. While not directly part of the 'DC Superheroes' line, Wonder Woman's got plenty of fodder in Lego form. I've acquired Posiedon, Medusa, Minotaur, a couple Amazon warriors, and a Cyclops. Athena is due as well in the next wave of CMFs. Some simple mods to a couple Atlantis sets, and she even has some playset action going on too, in the classical Greek style. Wonder Woman's well at home in Lego, with plenty of relevant minifigs and pieces. :D
  19. I couldn't believe it. Viz and Wanda are fundamental Avengers. With everyone and thier dog in the game (and 96349 Spider-man variations...), I couldn't believe that niether of them made the cut. I was madly unlocking every character, and enjoying the game until someone pointed out to me that they were not in it at all. My enthusiasm literally evaporated and I haven't bothered to play it since. Hahaha. So, yeah. While Wanda's a given (albeit in that horrific movie costume, but it's better than not at all), I'm unsure about Vision. He'd better be in there somewhere. :D Seriously, once I have these two (and Bucky...someday) I'll be perfectly content if they never do another Marvel character. I have Cap, Widow, Falcon and Storm. That more or less rounds out my absolute favorite Marvel characters. There are others I would fully enjoy (like Billy and Tommy!), but I can live with or without. My collection will always feel 'incomplete' without Vision and Wanda.
  20. Aye. I don't much care what else we get (I'm sure I'll enjoy it all), as long as we get Vision and Wanda. After those two figures, I'm all about the sets themselves (odd, right?). I'd love a display worthy set that wasn't merely a series of play features loosely strung together. But, really, if they give me Vision and Wanda, they can do whatever else they want. I was full gutted that these two (my favorite Marvel characters, hands down) were fully excluded from the Lego Marvel game.
  21. That would be awesome, if it's true. I would love nothing more than to be wrong here. :D It doesn't make sense though, as it contradicts what Matt told me directly, and the fact that the upcoming wave is to feature the New 52 Wonder Woman...who doesn't have an invisible jet. I'll gladly eat my words though if this comes to pass. I would pretty much sell my soul for an invisible jet made of Lego. :D
  22. That was pretty painless. I kind of realized just how involved and responsive the LEGO Group really is to it's fans as I was answering the questions.
  23. That kinda sucks. My TRU seems pretty good about stocking the polybags. They don't get tonnes in, and they sell out pretty quickly but they've had the most current ones when I've gone to look for them. The Lego Store has, of course, a full array of current product. I've never seen them at Walmart or Target though. Like, ever. They seem to get a single case of the minifigs and/or Mixels at my Walmart, so unless you're there the day they're put out you'd never know. Target is rubbish for stocking new product, I've found. Their toy section is dissapointing nine of ten visits (whatever I'm looking for).
  24. Frozen orange juice. I eat it with a spoon, out of a tupperware. It's pretty much my 'go to' snack most any time though, no matter what I'm doing. :D
  25. There's still little polybag sets, Mixles, the minifig collections, Creator sets.... I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking for? There are quite a few options in the 5$ and under category.
