  1. Yes. An 84 page thread is clear indication of the general online indifference towards the theme. :p
  2. What would you call the last page of overreacting to a nonexistent 'issue' with tales of cancelation and anecdotal assumptions about overall sales? It's baseless hysteria. The sets have sold briskly here, with only two notable sales (for 20% off of sets priced 49.99$ or lower only, at TRU) and otherwise full price consistently. Obviously, the reports of slow (or rapid, for that matter) sales in one town are not a universal reflection of anything. There was never going to be another wave this summer, and there will never be a wave bearing the 'canceled' set numbers. The theme will retire before it reaches those numbers, it was always going to. There will be a third 'wrap up' wave at the end of the year, just like every Lego film before this one. Everything is perfectly in line with what we've come to expect from movie themes.
  3. The additional three supposed TLM2 sets were a miscommunication from the start. Before the Triple Decker Couch Mech was revealed, the three supposed other sets were 70847, 70848, and 70849, one of which would have been the couch mech. The numbers are wildly out of sequence with the rest of the releases in the theme (the next one will be 70843). Nothing has been canceled nor changed. These sets never existed in the first place. Everything is fine. There is no need for hysteria.
  4. The only retailer exclusive (Target/Lego Store) set in the wave is 70842, Emmett's Triple-Decker Couch Mech. The other three are general release. I'd assume that you guys are on the same release timeline as the rest of the world, now that the film has released there? I thought the delayed release was the reason the sets were held back?
  5. I have to agree with Anchir on this one. I mean, are brick built figs like Groot, Ares, Giant Man, Queen Watevra, Metalbeard, Unikitty, ect, ect, ect, really any less relevant and collectible in their respective themes than the average minifig? It seems bizarre to insist on drawing arbitrary lines based on which specific Lego pieces are required to build which characters. If you're collecting TLM2 figures, the miniolls and brick built figs are just as key as everyone else. /shrug.
  6. This was the very first set I bought from the TLM2 theme. Having built them all (except the spring wave coming next week), it is still my favorite set in the theme! It's just so unique looking. The play features are intuitive and perfectly executed. This, above all other sets in the theme, is the one you need to own. :D
  7. He just posts udates in the "Lego Status" thread. There's a wide shot of it on this page, about a third of the way down. There are several pictures across the last few pages though. :D https://forum.brickset.com/discussion/2510/whats-your-lego-status-today/p362
  8. There's a poster over on Brickset who's been posting progress shots of his build of the Bathemoth. It's amazing stuff! I'm sure we'll see more custom builds soon, when the film is released for home viewing.
  9. Of all of the polybags, the Rex/Plantimal one makes the most sense to include. There are plenty of Duplo critters in the line (including an entire set of actual Duplo bricks), so the Lucy/Duplo poly would be overkill. The two 3in1 polys are pretty common, and are kind of pointless to stockpile. The Starstruck Emmett poly could be cool, but again, there are the little Star critters in several commercial sets. The heart set might have been acceptable, but outside of the context of it's in story significance it's not overly appealing as a set. Plantimals are pretty scarce, appearing in only 2 commercial sets. Even if you've acquired several through purchases at the Lego Store, another pack of parts in Plantimal colours is most welcome.
  10. Nope. The combined model uses only parts from the actual builds. The extra pieces are indeed just extras.
  11. Yup. I just built this one yesterday and was unnerved by the left over pieces. I combed back through the instructions several times, double checking my work on the bag. It was highly unusual.
  12. The LEGO Ideas Research Institute. Three scientists and some appropriate accessories.
  13. Hahaha. Yeah, that was my first thought too: Batman is insanely anti-gun. But, I get where Wilson's coming from. The design is clearly inspired by Burton's Batmobile, which did, oddly enough, feature hood mounted machine guns. I'd imagine part #4569407 would suffice for the gun itself.
  14. Right? It was actually the tipping point for me with this set. I've somehow never aquired a Batmobile despite having a slew of DC Superhero sets. I've got Bat-planes, Bat-copters, Bat-mechs, Bat-boats, Bat-subs, etc, etc...you name it, but no straight up Batmobile. I really, really wanted Starfire and Beastboy, but little else in this set. That gorgeous Batmobile model helps to assuage the exorbitant price of the set though. Hahaha.
  15. Winter Soldier, The Collector and Deadpool are not villains. Bucky is a hero who was under the influence of an outside party. He's no more a villain than Pietro and Wanda in the films (or, like any comic book hero at some point in the comics). Deadpool is a killer, with questionable morals, but who's ultimate instinct is to do the right thing (or to do horrible things to bad people for the right reasons). The Collector is a cosmic being. He's above 'morality', good or evil.
  16. Yeah, I can't see him looking all that much different. Despite Captain America's constant costume changes in the movies (and the minifigs have captured three different looks now), he always looks more or less recognizably 'Cap'. Bucky has a distinct costume. It pays homage to his original costume as Cap's sidekick during WWII, while looking deciedly less cartoonish. They'll likely switch it up a bit for the next film (everyone gets little changes from film to film), but it will still be recognizably 'Winter Soldier' I'm sure.
  17. I stand corrected. I don't really go in for Batman sets, so I don't have most of those. I think banana guy is the first civilian I've seen in a superhero set. Hahaha. If people are digging it though, who am I to argue? It's not like I've a shortage of little yellow guys to swap in. :D
  18. Oh, I hope not. I'm already jonesing for Sam Wilson. Two insanely expensive hunts this year would just cheese me off, hahaha. Although, it would kill me even more if they made a Janet exclusive (much more likely, imho, as she serves as a mere plot point in the Ant-man film, with no future role in the MCU). Hopefully they include Hope in one of the Civil War sets next year though. I'd love a Wasp figure at some point! :D
  19. Really? Maybe it's just me, but I mix them up all the time. I actually didn't think anything of it until I had this little banana guy who wasn't yellow like all the rest of the normal folks. He annoyed me, so he got a makeover in yellow (the BEST part about Lego: that you can just change something that you don't like!). Hahaha. I think that was the first time it occured to me that there was any distinction between the yellow and 'flesh' coloured parts, to be honest. Normal people are all yellow. They just always have been. /shrug.
  20. It actually really annoyed me that the banana guy in the DC set was 'flesh' coloured. I don't mind for the heroes and whatnot being 'flesh' toned to reflect thier comic book appearance (where thier colourful costumes would look 'off' on a yellow skintone), but everyday people in Lego should always be yellow. It's insanely odd to me when they're not.
  21. It's so wierd, and incredibly disrespectful to both characters. Especially Sam (who was, it so happens, created by Loeb as a tribute to his dead son...making reading those first issues insanely moving). I can't see why they would disrespect Richard's story (and the death of the entire Nova Corps), as well as Sam (who inherited his helmet from his presumed dead father, who was a member of the elite Black Nova Corps...thus the Black helmet, and never gold). I get that none of you actually read the comics...but nothing but the comics matter to me. The movies and all are interesting enough (and provide fun merchandise...like Lego!), but nothing that goes on on tv or the movies 'matters' in my head. Hahaha. To each thier own though. :D
  22. We've established that, hahaha. The fact is that people are asking for a Richard minifig...and he would look exactly like the 'Sam' one we already have. Until this thread, I had no idea that there was this alternate version of Sam, or that the Nova minifig could possibly be anyone BUT Richard. Hahaha.
  23. Sam Richard The fact that Sam's helmet is BLACK is a HUGE deal. It has never, nor will ever be gold. The entire Gold Corps perished in Annilation, Richard included.
  24. The Nova Corps in the MCU are an abomination. We've already got them too, in Lego form (I actually liked the little Nova ship, with it's retractable star shaped fins!). I don't think Richard will appear in the films though, even if they decide to recant the attrocities foisted on the Nova Corps in GotG. Sam is THE Nova in the Marvel Universe now, with Richard dead and gone.
  25. Huh. Sam has never had a gold helmet though. The entire design is 'Richard Rider'. Sam's get up is entirely different, top to bottom. I've never seen the cartoon though, so I could be wrong. They may have based Sam's design off of the classic Nova Corps there. Which would be stupid, mind, but entirely possible. Hahaha. As far as I'm concerned, it's fully Rider. Sam should have a black helmet and costume. /shrug.
