  1. Great job! The hanging chains would make a great obstacle. That bridge over the lava would be really hard to do. I think if you took another photo from a higher angle it would make the details in the maze easier to see.
  2. Wow, absolutely amazing! Which set is the sand green trophy from?
  3. Yes, I think that is the best idea yet!
  4. Thanks Ecc!
  5. When you click on Forums page, under General LEGO Discussion it says 'LEGO history, building techniques, cleaning, storage, photography, colours, quality'.
  6. True, but according to the captions under the sub forum names, photography belongs in general discussion. I imagine that would be where most people start looking for tutorials. Not to mention the fact that the BF&C Academy hasn't had a new post since last year.
  7. You could try, though I don't know if anybody would be interested. It really depends what sort of thing your asking for, something very specific, or something that someone may already be working on. I believe some builders do commissions, its not cheap though, you'd be better off trying to build your MOC skills to a level when you can build what you want.
  8. Maybe, I will see how a Kaliphlin team goes first.
  9. I can't say a definite yes or no yet, I am trying to get a Kaliphlin team together.
  10. Maybe a team that encompasses people form all four guilds would work. We would just need someone from Nocty and from Mitgardia.
  11. Useful size then. Its a pity its so low to the ground otherwise is would be great for constructing/displaying MOCs on.
  12. Interesting, can you fit 3 of the standard 32 x 32 base plates across it?
  13. Where is that store situated? I tried looking at their website but theres something wrong with it.
  14. From the Queen Vic markets you should be within cycling distance of the store I mentioned, I think it is about 6-7kms. Melbourne is a great city for cycling, theres hardly any hills! I think there are numerous stands in the city where visitors to Melbourne can hire a bike for the day. I might be able to meet you there on Saturday if you like. EDIT: I wouldn't recommend Shop For Me; all they have really is just sets. The one I mentioned before has an array of third party thing such as train track and life lites.
  15. This store is just a short train ride from the city and, just up the road from where I live. http://www.toybricks.com.au The have the best range (just about everything). I recommend asking for Rob, Dean or Shelly as they are the 3 AFOLs that run the store. Gabe also does some part time sculpture work there, (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showuser=12135). Their hours are; Tue-Fri 10-5 and Saturday 9-5. Are you coming to Melbourne for a visit?
  16. I think this store would sell you one if you contacted them directly. http://www.toybricks...ks.com.au They also have a store in Melbourne that is just up the road from where I live.
  17. It looks great! Now for category A you have to make a matching Kawashita maze board.
  18. It looks great! Its nice to see a tree with a trunk in those colours that are normally reserved for rock work, making the tree look old and weathered.
  19. Hopefully, I have been really busy lately so haven't had time to finish the registration or book flights, accomodation etc. Edit: Yikes! MOC registration ends in a few hours! Edit #2 MOC Registered.
  20. Same here, I never realised how much more parts intensive it was to reinforce a model enough for being thrown into the hold of a plane on an international flight.
  21. Impressive! The base is great, I think if you added some dark red to it as well it would look even better.
  22. At least they have them, my local K-Mart doesn't stock them any more, I think too may were getting stolen. They did try packaging them in those plastic CD cases, that idea failed for obvious reasons.
  23. The return of the Spam Poet (title).
  24. Great job! I really like the rock work, the scattered stones and Gandalf's pipe. Clever use of the gold rings as well.
  25. Well I think starting with a large model is a mistake, your skills will grow more if you start with smaller MOCs and gradually increase the size. I have the parts to make a huge castle/ space ship, but I don't have enough to make it nearly as detailed as my smaller models. In the end you will be better off building smaller, high quality MOCs rather than big, not very detailed ones. Edit: With a collection of over 120 000 parts, I can't really build large, detailed models larger than this- Anyway, I hope this helps.
