  1. That certainly explains it. Actually, theres a pretty good chance that I will be going to Brickworld...
  2. Well, if not enough people want to be part of a Kaliphlin team, maybe a general GoH team would work.
  3. Great builds, I am struggling too think of any more tall buildings that you haven't done!
  4. That would certainly be a change from the last Beetle, maybe they can include parts to make a custom surf version with the set! Somehow, I doubt it though.
  5. Good point. Anyway, I just put the maze on order at S&H!
  6. Welcome to GoH, you should have joined Kaliphlin. There is the Summer joust contest over on Flickr, it isn't specifically GoH but you could enter something Avalonia themed. https://www.flickr.com/groups/2970478@N22/discuss/72157667584757022/
  7. Great contest! Are there any hight/size restrictions for category A? (Aside from the obvious). And, do the game boards need to be strong enough for TLG to have included them in the maze set, or can they be really fragile?
  8. I don't think this is the right thread for a 'what camera should I buy discussion', feel free to send me a PM if you have any camera questions.
  9. Anyone interested in a Kaliphlin team for the guild creation category of the summer joust contest? https://www.flickr.com/groups/2970478@N22/discuss/72157667584757022/ "Guild Creation: Assemble a team of builders, and create your own faction and develop the buildings, landscape, and lifestyle of this group through multiple creations. Realistic, or fantasy factions are acceptable. Teams should consist of 2-4 members, and a maximum of 4 builds is allowed for the category. So if you have 4 team members, each person would create 1 build. If you only have two members, each can create 2 builds, and so on."
  10. Brilliant job! Really nice use of the star wars planet. The sand green and nougat work really well together as well.
  11. I think that a photography and post production thread pinned in the general discussion area would be enough for general photography questions. My fellow GoH member Gideon and I are thinking about writing a complete Lego photography tutorial, maybe that would be good way to start off the thread. As for discussion of cameras, for Lego photography, most cameras can do the job well no matter how old, including most recent smartphones (excluding those cheap compact cameras, with which you have no control over the camera settings.) Control of the settings is a key factor when choosing a camera for Lego. Megapixels do not matter once you get past about 5. Actually the more megapixels you have in a small sensor compact can degrade the image quality.
  12. There have been a few castle /medieval village themed models that made it to 10 000 votes, including some of the original GoH storyline builds. None of them got accepted. Though if we keep trying maybe TLG will sit up and take notice. Though personally I doubt it. We will get a new castle theme eventually though. EDIT: Actually, I may put my frost dragon MOC (see signature) on ideas, it won't get accepted but it would help keep the mythical castle creature line going. I don't have time to do it at the moment though, maybe in a few weeks.
  13. Great job, the windows and the roof are a particular standout. UoP DoH +1 on both claims.
  14. Chrome is nice, but I find it gets scratched and damaged easily, for that reason I mainly use the standard grey ones.
  15. This looks great! The covered walkway works really well and lead the eye into the castle. Regarding photography, Gideon and I posted some good photography tips in someone's MOC a month or so back, I will see if I can find it.
  16. Excellent build and stunning photography! This does belong in the Historic themes forum, but it could easily be repurposed for GoH!
  17. Me three! I feared the worst when I saw the title!
  18. Great build! The outpost is excellent and the stone path looks great! I will have to borrow that technique.
  19. Well done! Matching the buildings to the source images shows how perfect they are! That stone wall also works really well.
  20. 45 minutes... I'm in Melbourne!! According to Apple thats 18 hours. Who knows, if that store is a success maybe they will open ones in Sydney and then maybe Melbourne.
  21. Thanks.
  22. Thanks.
  23. Amazing, the best star destroyer I have ever seen!
  24. That's a fair point, though what castle or space sets are people supposed to buy?
