Nice one! Quite a change to the traditional theme of a friends layout!

Wow, your drawings are incredible! That must have taken a lot of practise. Could you do mine, when you have the time?

[MOC] Treehouse in the Enchanted Forest
BrickCurve replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Looks good. It's a bit too thick for your average tree though, perhaps making it a bit taller would be better? -

Is a pity that they don't make a version with an inverted design so that they could be more easily adapted to make a quadcopter. -
You guys certainly do, and an excellent job of it as well! I personally think the way the site is moderated at the moment is perfect, never had any issues with it at all!

Flickr - not as popular with MOC'ists/MOC appreciators anymore?
BrickCurve replied to TheOneVeyronian's topic in Community
A few weeks ago, when I was actually keeping an eye on the amount of followers, the number varied by about ten people, so for example, from 280 to 270 but a week later, (now), that number is back up to 279. I think wiht me it's mainly because I used to post my photography to that account and I don't anymore as I created a seperate one for that and the people who aren't as interested in Lego are unfollowing that account. Actually, the number that I have lost in the Lego one moved over to the photography one so I can't complain! This is the main Lego group on Flickr, which is where everybody posts anything to do with Lego, so it is pretty saturated with inferior quality things, but according to their website, that is where TBB actually look for new MOCs. https://www.flickr.com/groups/lego/ This one is a curated group and is the only one I actually keep an eye on. https://www.flickr.com/groups/thebricktime/ Have a look at the groups I am in for more. (Link in signature). I did a pretty thorough look through the Lego groups about a year and a half back and joined all the reasonably popular generic ones. There is an invitation to add your photo to explore on that photos page and in the activity and notifications part of the site. I generally stick to three photos per MOC, and less for smaller ones. I find its the best way to show all the details without filling up my page. Also have a look are popular MOCs and see what groups they are in, you might find some new ones that way as well. -
I use the Sistema range of boxes, they are well though out, sturdy and very good quality. http://sistemaplastics.com/products/storage I also have a few of the large Really Useful Boxes for transporting MOCs.

Do people actually use bicklink mocshop?
BrickCurve replied to Wardancer's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
1. No 2. Maybe, it would depend if there were good parts to reuse in it. 3. No -
Sounds like a good idea to me!

Nice one. The colour usage in the base is great. Taking the photos from a lower angle would make the model appear more immersive and interesting, closer to a mini figs perspective!

Amazing job. So many excellent details! It's a pity about the photos. -
Flickr - not as popular with MOC'ists/MOC appreciators anymore?
BrickCurve replied to TheOneVeyronian's topic in Community
Yeah, that happened to me a while back. I believe at some point, every Flickr member gets one of their photos added to explore, it is usually the least interesting Lego ones in the case of people like us! It is also a good idea to join the generic Lego groups, as that's how TBB find most of the models they showcase. -
Nice one. It's a it's pity the photos are so hazy though. Have a look in the new photography section of general discussion that has some good tutorials.

[MOC] LEGO® Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor's TARDIS Interior (Ser

Looks very impressive! I haven't seen the show, so can't relate the accuracy of the MOC to it, but never the less, the excellent techniques here more than make up for it.- 12 replies

Flickr - not as popular with MOC'ists/MOC appreciators anymore?
BrickCurve replied to TheOneVeyronian's topic in Community
Strange. I am actually in a pretty similar point with Flickr followers, 270 or so and the same rate of faves and comments. It hasn't dried up for me so perhaps to get your MOCs noticed again, try adding them to new groups and the like. I assume you are posting them on here? EB was actually the biggest popularity boost for my Flickr page, as a lot of the expel on here have Flickr accounts also. -
Surprising... One possible use for it like that would be if attached to a suitable base, even though the parts don't quite connect, a base with jumper plates could make it stable enough for a tower to be built on. Not entirely certain as I don't have enough of the A wedges to test it.

Great review! I prefer the mini though, mainly because of the colours of parts it comes with. As a set they are both great!

BrickCurve replied to The_Cook's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
They look great! I particularly like the one with the eyepatch. -
. That coral piece is great! It has a lot of potential for MOCs. Worth the high price? Probably will not- imagine how much PAB could be bought for the cost of just one of those parts!
-
. Interesting, could it be so they only need to have the machinery for packaging the base plates at one factory?
-
Looks amazing! I can see why it took so long to build... Well worth the wait! Amon the many other excellent details, the rushing water here is incredible!

Absolutely correct. Thanks. I did mean that part, I really should have added a link! Thanks! I will have the model finished soon, I am just experimenting with a similar technique for a sky backdrop first.
