  1. I had to laugh at this. Well RPd.
  2. "Many thanks for your warm greeting, Master Farmer. It is truly a unique opportunity, to prove ourselves here where so many other great heroes have trodden." Ooc: Thanks for selecting me! I'm seriously looking forward to this. I'm sorry that I didn't do this sooner, but I wanted to wait on making some purchases at the market until I knew who else was going to be on the quest. Here are my updated stats(Apologies for any inconveniences!):
  3. The figure wrapped in a grey cloak walked quietly into the marketplace, and went across to the smithy. "Good day, Master Smith. I would like to purchase a WP:5 Shuriken, if I might." "Here." Lind set 50 gold down on the counter casually, and picked up the shuriken. 488 gold - 50 = 438 He suddenly rubbed his hands together for a few moments, stuck the shuriken into his pouch, and then pulled a shuriken out. "You know, strangest thing, I suddenly seem to have a WP:3 Shuriken, and an WP:8 Indescribable Pole on me that I'd like to sell." 438 + 15 = 453 453 + 40 (WP:8 x 5) = 493 "Oi, oi, oi. First they buy things, then they sell things back, then they buy things - it's enough to drive an honest dwarf mad..." "I'd also like you to sharpen both my card decks, thank you." 493 - 260(2 weapon upgrades each, for a total of 7 WP each) = 233 "I'm being asked to sharpen paper? I've already gone mad..." "And finally, I'd like you to remove this Ruby(Alfendi's Cape), and merge it with my Amulet." "That's all? I was expecting something even more ridiculous than sharpening paper. Right away." 233 - 100(removal(50) + merging(50)) = 133 Lind stepped over to Gnomeo's Tool Shed. "Excuse me, but could I buy that shovel there?" "Fine, fine, then shovel off already! I'm busy." 133 - 10 = 123 Lind walked on down to Portia's Potion Shop. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like to buy a pair of Meads-" 123 - 30 = 93 "-8 Potions-" 93 - 40 = 53 "-and a Phoenix Essence." 53 - 50 = 3 "Big spender, huh? You should come by here more often..." "Not until my pockets are flush again," he winked.
  4. My apologies for the confusion, I was not trying to say that they were connected. What I was attempting to say is that the spread more or less confirmed that they exist in the same universe. From their basic plot lines, there is no evidence that they are connected. Aqua Raiders II is a group of explorers who use undersea vehicles to explore the Bermuda Triangle in search of treasure. The Neptune's crew was a group of salvagers who were hired to recover a crashed submarine from an 'sea station'(any organizations the station was affiliated with were never mentioned.) The submarine itself is seen onscreen briefly, but it does not offer any clues, being the main model from the Designer set 4888-1 Underwater Exploration. 4888 does have a similar color scheme to the later Aqua Raiders II line, but as yellow is a very common color for submarines, I highly doubt that it is supposed to be a former Aqua Raiders ship. There is one other thing, however that is worth noting. The two lines that mention the sea station: "There's a sea station on the ocean floor, built to recover...ancient antiquities." "...the sea station was built to explore, uh...theory I have." Now, the first line, mentioning ancient antiquities, seems almost too much like Aqua Raiders to be a coincidence. But the second line is the one that really shatters that idea. Unless you want to suppose that the entire Aqua Raiders endeavor happened solely because of her one theory inherited from her grandfather, there are only two other conclusions. She was a member of the Aqua Raiders group, and her idea was only part of the reason the Aquabase was built, or else she was referring to an entirely different sea station. I tend to support the third theory.
  5. Just to throw my own little bit of slightly obscure reference material into the mix, the LEGO Club magazine two-page spread on the Gate essentially suggested that the helmeted skeleton was an unlucky Aqua Raider. It didn't specifically name them, but it came about as close as it can. I wonder how he/she ended up there. Is the Gateway in the Bermuda Triangle? Are all the giant animals related to Atlantis? Or was the skeleton transported there by an animal who had eaten it(don't forget, there was a skeleton in the 'belly' of the squid with the Aquabase set.). (I know, I know, it's just a reference and they didn't intend for it to be interpreted...)
  6. If and when it happens, I could probably work Ziegfried reputation into the second of my trilogy, seeing as what it's about... Or, even better yet, I could have the reward be a Reputation Scroll, like from the lotto earlier this year. Which would make a lot more sense, when you consider the trilogy as a whole... *Ideas begin to form...*
  7. Agreed, if it were a Facebook or Twitter update system, I could watch but I couldn't participate. At least not with Facebook - I am not a huge fan of their TOS. I vote for either the Overview Thread, or the Mailing List. I do have one additional suggestion - perhaps a Google Group, dedicated to the project? Of course, it runs into the same problems as Facebook and Twitter, so it probably wouldn't work very well for while ideas are still being reformed, but perhaps it might be a bit more streamlined for when it's time to refine everything into the finished proposal.
  8. It really depends on what sets/media you're looking at. I personally believe that there are several different LEGO Cities, each representing a specific location. Clutch Powers: Cape Canaveral area, based upon both the spaceship facilities, and the way that there is a huge body of water, if not an ocean, on at least one side of the Headquarters building(Which itself lends to the Canaveral theory). The only biggest detraction from this theory is during Clutch Powers: A 4D Adventure. Unfortunately, the only way to see this film is by actually going to a park, something I am not able to do at the moment(If anyone knows of an alternate way to see it, I would be extremely grateful!), but at , a long road up a hill can be seen that doesn't quite match up with the Florida landscape. I personally chalk this up to there being slight liberties in location design, similar to the other entries.LEGO City: Undercover: San Francisco. It can only be San Francisco. A prison island in the bay, a huge red bridge, and even a LEGO Chinatown. The presence of a Statue of Liberty might seem to indicate New York, and the setting can at times come off more like Miami, but overall, San Francisco wins by a long shot. LEGO Island, LEGO Island II(to some extent), and LEGO Island III: A place filled with California surfing bros, its own airport, a small population and completely surrounded by enough water so that the mainland isn't visible? Sounds to me like Santa Catalina. World City: With its worn-down grey tones, brightened with as few colors as possible and an overall tone of industry, there are only so many places it can be. The overall tone of the sets feels somewhere in between Chicago and Detroit, but the architecture of the police station and the color of their dark blue uniforms gives off more of a New York City vibe. All three cities have Coast Guards and trains, so until I find more evidence of one or the other, that's as specific as I can get. All other LEGO: Sets prior to around 1997 seem to likely be set somewhere in Europe, although exactly where is hard to determine. Quite likely Denmark, with a few sets from other countries(for instance, one Wheatabix promotion was an English-style pair of houses that shared a wall). They could probably be divided up by architecture into individual countries, but being a U.S. resident, I'm not quite sure where I'd start doing that.
  9. I actually have a bit of a solution to that. It might not work very well if the water has to pass through catacombs/sewer systems, but for an open harbor? Get a lot of transparent blue one-by-one rounds, and squares, and carefully pour them onto the water. If you're careful, you should be able to get some good pictures at the least. Now, if you want them to float for longer than around five minutes, that'll be a bit more expensive, but still possible. Get a supply of one-by-one blue trans bricks and round bricks. For the normal bricks, a simple cap using either a square or a round for the one open end will be enough, but for the rounds you'll need to remember to cap both ends and for that, rounds are probably the more aesthetically pleasing. It will cost quite a pretty penny, even if you get a good few big cups from PAB walls, but you'll have a harbor of working "LEGO" water, that floats and shapes around your ships. You can't get too much better than that.*. *Well, you could make the entire sea out of transparent blue, without any water, but you'd loose the flotation possibilities.
  10. "Hmm...simple enough." 1. 1 2. 4 3. 4 4. 4 5. 3 Total: 16 "Well won, master mage. And thank you, they were quite good." Ooc: I used Random.org/dice/ since I didn't have a die near me.
  11. I just had my PM notification fail to appear at all. I was playing Mafia, and I missed out on the message sent to tell me I was dead and to join the Deadboard.
  12. I'm really sorry I didn't post on the Deadboard. Somehow the little red square PM notification didn't display for your message, and I haven't had a reason to open my PM folder otherwise, so I wasn't aware of the Deadboard even existing until now. I agree that my voting was too much on the bandwagon. I was more afraid to vote for someone else and be wrong, than I was of going along with the crowd. Yet another lesson that I've learned. Thank you very much for hosting me.
  13. "Interested. What sort of game?"
  14. Although it's not a purist option, with the rise of 3d printing, I thought perhaps one could take a blue base-plate(if they hopefully come back into stock at ShopAtHome! ), and print walls onto the edges of them. You'd then set them up, seal the edges with some sort of caulk, and build away.
  15. Sometimes people just like having a back-story to their favorite themes.
  16. That would be the Galidor theme, based off of the YTV and Fox Kids television show, Galidor: Defendors of the Outer Dimension. The "bad-ness" of the sets is one of those bits of long-running trivia that every group of fans has. It's even been referenced in Ninjago sets, with the "Skalidor" Constrictai named after it. That would be Scala. That's actually one of my favorite sets from the World City theme. It'd be nice if the cockpit was closed, but I like the way it's built lower to ground. The shape reminds me of the sort of car police on television would drive back in the '70s.
  17. Thanks to all, it was fun. I've definitely learned quite a lot... So I was the the second vig kill? Interesting. What about me stood out as a likely target? (I have a few ideas, but I'd like to hear what exactly it was in specific...) Any ideas on when we'll find out who passed?
  18. Thanks! Thanks! If and when I can, I will, but I've got enough projects taking up my budget at the moment that it'll be a while before I'll have all the parts together.
  19. I was thinking about how to build a working reflector for space landing pad spotlights, when I remembered the gold chromed 30208's that were released in '99. Did they receive chroming on the inside as well as the outside? I don't know of any pictures of the interior, since it's not molded to be built with upside-down, so if anyone could check their own collection and confirm whether they were chromed or not it would be very much appreciated. Thanks, ~Lind Whisperer
  20. Nice. It reminds me of the Assembly Faction logo:
  21. "Do not forget the Dark Voices of Aggzuc Kutives, that haunt over the Sea of Sweet. Fell beings of ever-changing feeling and intent, that are said to tinker with the very fabric of thought and myth. Dark stories are told of them and their ways, from the fairytale of a beautiful firefly laid onto the chopping block after only a short season of life, to that of the tale of ten thousand years of brave star paladins slashed away from memory in a single act of thoughtless cruelty. In fairness, I must be note that not all are evil, and some in fact try to be the opposite. But yet, they never quite succeed. Once, a great demon-fish that controlled a universe is said to have died, and in its throes given a great universe, perhaps one of the greatest of universes, into the care of one of these creatures. It tended to it, but it had never cared for one before, and it lavished too much attention on it, suffocating it with the weight of its care, killing it with the very efforts made to try to care for it."
  22. "Always up for a good story. A fascinating creature, your friend."
  23. "I'm not quite sure how many I know. Quite a few, certainly, but I suppose a good part of it would depend on exactly what you consider "knowing". I know the common languages - Elven, Orkish, the like, a smattering of the more obscure ones, and I know enough single words from various dialect strands to indicate whatever it is I'm trying to get across, even if I don't know their specific language. A' in a', glimp' twa three dizzen, mayhap three dizzen mair if ye'll coont ane words.*" Ooc: Just for reminder, Heroica isn't on Earth. England, Scotland, and New Zealand aren't places that are known of here. *Just for everyone who doesn't spend too much time reading obscure books from the 1800's: "All in all, several dozen, perhaps three dozen more if single words count."
  24. Lind modestly shrugged and smiled. "The Munchkins hide ourselves away in the Forest, but we spend that time studying anything and everything we can. True knowledge is the wealth that never diminishes, and can give a single man the strength of a thousand. With the assumption that it is properly applied, of course. In fact, a large part of my education was spent on studying exactly how to study. The rest was spent on learning various subjects, including a wide variety of known languages and dialects, such as der Māori. I'm hardly an expert in any of them - at best, I could make myself understood, but I do like to think that I could probably communicate at least base ideas with anyone I may encounter. Any humanoids, at least."
