60200 Capital City...Barnes & Noble had it at 30% off, then my extra 10% made it hard to say no. So, I didn’t.

I wouldn’t imagine they’re cancelling them altogether, they just repackaged the road plates last year. Maybe the 48x48 is getting discontinued in, and didn’t blue 32x32’s get discontinued for a time a few years back?

Yeah, I’ve looked through the book multiple times already, the ideas are great. If someone is wanting to build a bigger castle, they have a ton of ideas on the interior details. And the two builds are nice too. I went with the sorting one. I think so too, considering the price point they put it at.

Hmm...this is a tough one. I would probably say 10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker. It’s so nice, I bought it twice. This one is on the bigger sized sets I own. Plus, I love Clones. I am rather fond of 10225, my first UCS set, too. Awesome gift!

This was tough pickings, as I thought they all were pretty great. Phase III was probably the hardest choice, as both Doctor Strange & Black Panther were stand outs. I ended up gong with Iron Man, despite the killer circle shot of the six in Avengers. Went with Guardians for the II, because it was such a fun movie that departed from the “norm” they had so far. Then to wrap it up I went with Infinity War, because of the Black Order & Thanos. It was tough picking that over Endgame, solely because Cap getting Mjolnir was the best moment of this saga & made me cry like a baby.

Just have a good building session with him...make him forget everything he saw.

I just used blue & tan baseplates. Then plates of different sizes to give the beach a more textured look. What I like that people do is make a line or two of dark tan plates on the edge of the sand to look like it’s wet sand. Then if you want to get trickier you can mimic what was done in the Ninjago City/Docks sets. That looks really good, but is a lot more expensive than the simpler baseplates.

It’s a great torso for sure. I was excited to get some yesterday but sadly the store didn’t have any.

Does anyone like to modify your modular buildings?

Haha, read the title & instantly thought....then here you are. -
There is some great stuff in there. The House points counter is a particular favorite. As are the pages dedicated to the library.

I should’ve known that...I own that set.

While I haven’t opened up the book yet, it’s a nice parts pack to be used on the Castle for those who are MODing it. But yeah, I get it. The parts from the DC book are still in the book... I buy the books at Barnes & Noble and always wait for a coupon, so I get a nice discount.

No luck for me on the those top two hairpieces at the Hillsdale Mall store...I was bummed. I love that top one & don’t have the. Er hairpiece at all. Also, I saw the 50’s waitress CMF hair in black, pretty sure that hasn’t been in a set.

For sure, I was happy that we got so much great stuff in a short amount of time. I don’t think I could pick one to get rid of in favor of another wave of any other. I quite liked the model of it, the variety we got was awesome.

Identifying Source of NEW Lego Crest on Shield

If you go over to the BaM thread in Special there’s talk & pictures of exclusive parts. I got Barbara Gordon’s, from the LEGO Batman Movie in blonde color. And the pigtail hair from the Chinese New Year Dinner set in reddish brown. -
Nice. Picking mine up tomorrow. It’s a shame the minifig isn’t anything special though, like we got with the DC one & Jon Stewart GL. They could’ve used the book as an opportunity to give us a wanted minifig.

I’d like to see returns to those one off/short lived action themes from a few years back. Atlantis, Pharoah’s Quest, Monster Fighters, Alien Conquest, Galaxy Squad, & Dino. I really liked all these themes & would love to see any of them come back. I think I’d like to see PQ the most though, the new baddies parts we got were amazing.

@Mat099 Wow! That is excellent. Nice work. -
I hear ya, I’m the same way. There are quite a few retired sets I want but are just too much for what I’m willing to spend. If you can spare the money, I would absolutely do it. The building has a great look & the taxi is pretty nice.

I bought it when it was in store, so I paid the retail $64.99 for it. According to Bricklink, $100 is roughly what it’s been going for, between $100-130. So I would jump on it for the $100.

Oh yeah, I definitely like what they’ve been adding to the lines, just not enough to actually buy them because I don’t want or need another fire truck, like the Burger stand which I love. Years ago, that abandoned house that was on fire was another one. As a town lay out guy, I’d like to see a bigger spread of other businesses. In that regard I’m a bit tired seeing police/fire. I understand why & can appreciate them adding new stuff to those sets, like the aforementioned burger stand. I’m sure I’ll end up buying it.

Sometimes it needs to be said. First & foremost this is a product marketed to kids. I, just as much as damn near the rest of us, are tired of seeing police/fire. Why adults still make such a big deal over this knowing they aren’t going anywhere is strange. We get a decent amount of other stuff each year. We’ve gotten a few town square type sets with a neat assortment of city life(they do love their pizza/bike shop combos). Then we have sets like Capital City & Donut Grand Opening, both have a new, at least recently, vehicle -open top tour bus & TV van. I could do with less cranes & helicopters though.

Wow! This is fantastic. I love all the little detachable fighters & the variety of items you can attach to them. It’s a shame it’s not M-Tron though.
