Definitely. I bought a few Dimensions sets, really for the minifigs, but built the sets as well. I hated it. Constantly having to pause, then play. And that’s with a tiny set...I couldn’t imagine building the Modular or other big set in that fashion. No way.

Small buy...30341 Monkie Kid’s Delivery Bike

I’m honestly not sure how it’s going to be. I obviously want to believe there will be nobody standing there when we show up... but it’s the Modular. Went twice in Nov, for Sesame Street & Ecto-1, on release days Andy it was very quiet so I’m half expecting it to be quieter than normal. Again though, it’s the Modular, arguably more popular than both of those aforementioned sets.
-
What I’m slightly worried about is store stock. Me & buddy went when the Ecto-1 was released. They had 15 sets. Granted I think the Modulars are more popular & that should mean they’ll have more stock...that’s only a guess. Plus, we’ll get there early enough(hopefully).

I took it as emulating a Chevy Bel Air. It’s just this is one of those times where you can’t see a piece for anything other than what it is. It was clever usage...but it just...it’s a surfboard. I love the car & do hope it accompanies the Modular on the first.

I don’t mind the numbered bags for larger sets. I couldn’t imagine having to dump everything from Ninjago City or Welcome to Apocalypseburg! out on a table all together. Imagine doing that with the Colosseum! And it makes building on a smaller area more manageable. But the instructions...that’s something else entirely. I can’t stand how slow & simple they’ve become. We don’t need a step where the baseplate is the step or one piece added is the step. The unnecessary colored bricks I understand, it’s so you have your bearing of which end you’re building on & such.

I believe it was an Ideas contest(?) so maybe that’s the reason for the branding.

Love this! Bonus points for the Modulex. Such a great & cozy looking scene. It’s nice that the family gave Santa options, cookies or carrots.

Preventing LEGO sets from getting dusty

Design of three tail fox in Ninjago 70671
Vindicare replied to Lira_Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not entirely sure what the number on the paw is. The Design/Element ID aren’t printed like that. Interestingly, I looked at the cougar I have, which is similar, and it has the same print but different numberX9. So it’s some type of ID for those animals. I wouldn’t worry about the gap, it seems just where the two sides meet. -
What exactly constitutes a "real" Castle theme?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Totally get it. I did like it as well, just never bought any(more because there was higher priority buys). It was a huge departure & I also would much rather have had a normal Castle theme. The minifgs were cool & it introduced some great parts & prints. Dang, that’s a nice size army! -
What exactly constitutes a "real" Castle theme?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Uh...”In short a castle theme is a theme with knights and a castle.” Yet you open with calling Nexo Knights not a castle theme, despite it having knights & a castle. Interesting. I loved Classic Castle as a kid. When I started buying LEGO again my first purchases were Forestmen. Then I love Fantasy Era Castle only slightly less than I do Kingdoms. The builds are what won, Joust & Mill Village Raid in particular. Although Medieval Market Village goes great with those two sets. Then Troll Battle Wheel is one of my favorites. Mythical castle is just as “real” a theme as the real/Classic castle theme I’d say. -
It is pretty depressing on S@H right now...it’s definitely a huge bummer. Generally speaking, they’re well stocked. I last visited mid Nov & they had plenty. Granted I didn’t notice if they had some of the sought after SW sets(Cantina, Razor Crest, & 501st) but did have The Child. They did have all the HS sets, which have all disappeared in both Target & Walmart around me.

Ninjago Gardens and Ninjago City/Docs availability
Vindicare replied to koraldon's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A rerelease is highly unlikely. They both retired just over a year ago. They were both available for quite some time, so chances are that people who will be interested in Gardens already has the prior two. I get it. I came way late to the party of greatness that is City/Docks(about a year before this wonderful announcement). If you haven’t gotten them yet & can do so, I would. I imagine those ages will shoot up in price considerably more than they have once Gardens is revealed. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
Vindicare replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fatigue & ...freshness(in a sense) have hurt this theme as well. Early on of course the excitement is there with all these new types of minifigs that had to other themes or ones that we never would have thought we’d see. The accessories are still stand outs, but minifgs as a whole really aren’t(at least for me). I think the price, even before it hit this current $5 mark, was an even bigger factor. Looking at the theme as a whole they haven’t really upped their game. For that price if we’re going to see reused hairpieces at least give us a new or rare color. Arm printing. Something we don’t usually see in regular theme minifgs. -
Looks fantastic. You have so much going on it’s hard to take everything in. All the water areas, elevations & bridges is a nice addition all around.

I based it off of equally replacing one current road plate with the box of the new(4 16x16). I will say, they do have some great qualities. One being that I do not use the curve plates because I can’t smoothly sidewalk the inside curve & I have been hoping for a ninety degree turn plate for years. I got my wish, just in a different format. And I do like that they’re 16x16, that way I could work around Assembly Square’s size difference.
-
I’m definitely not switching. Biggest reason, it would be too expensive. I have a 6x7(32x32) area with 17 roadplates currently taking up space. I would need one pack of the new roads to equal one rod plate....then I’d have to raise up everything else in town. And I’d much rather use that money on other sets. I certainly hope they continue making both side by side. I only have four extra packs at the moment. They’ve been out of stock for a few weeks but that doesn’t mean they’re completely done, as many, many sets are suffering the same fate.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
Vindicare replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I absolutely love the Chima minifigs, so I’m right there with you on the “real” animal types being tossed in to the CMF’s...although, not sure about a lion barber or alien ballerina. What was described is basically the BaM station in pouch form. Granted, it would be ridiculously overpriced at $5 a minifig as opposed to the station’s 3 for $10. I think kids would be more open to getting random bits to make any characters more than AFOLs would. Speaking for myself & my LEGO store traveling partner, we go for the exclusive bits. -

I do too. I sprinkle them around my town a bit, but mostly they just sit in a bag. They do have quite a charm to them though. Does it really bug you though? -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, I thought about waiting for Black Friday to order the Mystery Castle, but didn’t. Glad for that decision as it was sold out. I’ve never been one to care much for box art but HS’s was just awful & muddy. I mean know what I want going in so seeing them on the shelf doesn’t bother me personally, but they aren’t pretty to behold & I can imagine the average consumer wondering & passing it by instead of taking a closer/second look. A shame too, because this theme is fantastic, both in minifigures & builds. -
If you have a JoAnn’s Fabrics I’d check there. I found a bunch of them months ago there. I saw someone on Instagram show that they found them at Walmart recently. Unless yours is like mine....and rarely gets polybags, let alone good ones.
-
Boy, that’s the past year & then some parts. I hope not. Digging through there & looking for certain parts or finding that rare gold of an older piece that was left behind at the bottom of the cabinet. That’s where the fun part is.
-
This would be a sure fire way for me to get the Ship. I’m not a huge LEGO ship buyer, so unless the minifgs were stellar for whatever the price would be, it would likely be a pass for me.

Love the house. Great update on his old house. Bay window is nice. Looks like he learned his lesson from last time. The interior has some great furniture builds & there’s plenty of usable space for more.
