  1. My favorite part is the big height difference. A skyline is all kinds of heights, not just one continued line with slight changes. Love that skeeball machine(who doesn’t love skeeball?!). A combo any kid of the 90’s would love...pizza & video games. There’s some nice details throughout. I like the outdoor seating area.
  2. This is why I’m not completely opposed to interiors, they add a lot to the build process(even if those damn floors can be tedious to place). The different techniques for all the different furniture & other details have been pretty great & has been fun seeing them evolve since the beginning.
  3. Exactly. Green Grocer is the perfect blueprint how Modulars should be done. If you have a visible ground floor, fill it & leave the rest bate. I don’t care much for interiors either, as I don’t see them. They do add a bit more during the build, but I’d be fine without them as long as exterior detail was pumped up.
  4. But how is Harry supposed to sneak in with no basement? it looks fantastic. I like that you took the DA structure & ran with it. The store looks great inside & out. I really like sloping roof & windows.
  5. Nov was the first time we went since this all started. If we had one closer when they offered curbside we may have gone...but the big draw is the BaM & PaB...the situation is certainly a bit all over the place(obvious depending on where you are). I’ve heard that a store wasn’t allowing people to touch the boxes, you just told the employee what you wanted. Then I see some stores will do the BaM by piece as opposed to complete minifigs to choose from(although I was able to make substitutions) like the one I went to. It may worth it to call & see. To be on topic, I don’t mind the features or the cars. I especially liked the DO’s story, it really tied both buildings together & was a fun addition. It does bring Ace’s detective skill sets into question... and the Brick Bank’s is just too funny not to love. Then, you can’t have a fire station or garage without the appropriate cars. Both of which are fantastic. The limo in the PC is a bit of an acquired taste & the Caddy wasn’t essential but definitely fitting.
  6. Pretty cool set for sure. A repetitive nightmare though. If I were into these landmark sets, I would definitely be interested. But....what on Earth happened with the GWP? The cart is nice....and that’s about it. Can’t get a good look at the torso, but the helmet? I guess they don’t have the Spartan mood anymore. And the brick built horses...this isn’t a Creator 3-in-1 set.
  7. Maybe one, or more, of the designers was heavy on the “Team Edward” train...
  8. I suppose your county isn’t very open? That would definitely be an okay way to lift one’s spirits after a LEGOless trip to the mall I go to the San Mateo one, even the Cheesecake Factory was open, although no takers at 11AM on a Sunday when we were there yesterday.
  9. Cinnabon confirmed. We all would. A lot of great details, colors, & a huge helping of minifgs for a great price? Yes please! Those are some crazy anomalies though....
  10. No kidding...I was shocked to see $150(USD) for that. Guess I won’t be getting that one. Same with the buildable 2x4. I don’t remember that being that high for the red one.
  11. Haha, I wish. The only thing we pass is a Cheesecake Factory. It was mostly same ol’ same ol’. They let a few people in at a time & had to let you out(they had that two post with the pull out ribbon thing). The PaB wall was blocked off from customers, as was BaM tower. They had a menu board of parts & minifigs that you could get. I didn’t fill a cup, but you wrote down what you wanted & probably roughly how many.
  12. Totally! I finally was able to get my hands on the Easter ones. I’m more worried about the astropug torso & dachshund recolor than I was about the bunny guy & butterfly kid(who I only really wanted her head). I also got my hands on the coral floatie & CMF 18 Birthday Boy hair in black. The bummer part is my store is doing prebuilt minifgs so I don’t exactly get what I want, but the exclusives are what I really care about.
  13. The difference is the lions are real people, while the Nian is a mythical dragon. It makes sense that it’s bigger. I wasn’t familiar with the story, but after reading about it my excitement for this set grew. I am loving all the prints & minifigs. The sweater on the man in the garden set and the face on the boy with the snowball in the Nian set are probably my favorites. But if they got rid of the fair vendors it wouldn’t be a Temple Fair anymore...
  14. It’s not an across the board problem. It could’ve been you got a bad batch(speaking of the light grey clips in ‘18 Anglia). I just checked mine & they’re fine. And I bought & built it day one & haven't disassembled it since. You’re safe ordering replacements.
  15. I was thinking about this the other day. The Temple & Garden will probably look really good together. Definitely. The less pieces they’d have to use on interior walls, they could put into, personal hope, external details.
  16. When I saw just the top of the picture I wondered why it was so dark, then I kept scrolling. That is a creepily fantastic build!
  17. Months & months ago I saw the prices on the legoleaks hashtag & they had the same prices as last year, $79.99 & $119.99. Yes! I love the build of the Nian too. I feel like that could be a good base for a Zouwu build. Dark blue bananas in the garden set too.
  18. It’s the story of Nian(amazing the things you learn from LEGO). It’s about scaring away a dragon with fireworks & such before it terrorized & ate villagers. The story helps the appeal of the set I think.
  19. Wow! Another pair of amazing sets! Love the prints & new colors. The green mops, black decorative dragon heads, printed trans red minifig heads. That garden is beautiful! I need these now!
  20. As far as buying goes, my interest in Ninjago is fairly low. Before the Movie, which I went nuts with, the only sets I bought are the first year dragon sets...and then a few of the Digital wave. Ninjago Gardens is supposedly going to fit with the City & Docks sets so that’s why I’m excited for it & I hope the build, other than the water, fits in with those sets aesthetic. It would be tough if LotR came back for sure. I love both themes/franchises a lot.
  21. Haha, silver lining of 2020. I still haven’t bought Hedwig & while I definitely like it, I don’t think I’d be upset by missing it. If the books didn’t come with those great looking minifigs I may feel the same about those. Even though they’re coming out first, they may be last on the list(which could easily change once we get better views).
  22. It’s going to be especially harder this year. With that huge list of HP sets coupled with the Ninjago Gardens set(which I’m definitely getting). HP is really the only theme I get in any real amount these days. It’s the high ticket sets more than anything. I have gotten a decent amount of HS too. I think it’s both good & bad that we have so many options. I’m not a completionist by any means, but just keeping up with what I want is far too difficult.
  23. This is great, old or not! You captured & realized the horse remarkably well. The not-so-minifig is excellent as well. I like the added trans bits on the horses feet & the sword is cool. Well done.
  24. I’ll add to the chorus & say don’t sell. Especially seeing as you intend to buy it later. I get it, those Ninjago sets are fantastic, but which would you regret on missing out on not getting more? This is me. I’ve pretty much stopped buying Superheroes, City, & Creator for stuff I like but don’t mind missing. HP is a big reason why.
  25. I’m still hoping to get the Warrior Mech. Fortunately I love the whole set so buying it isn’t a problem in that regard. But the price, with everything else coming to year, makes it difficult. I wish we’d see a building like that in a smaller set. It will work pretty great with Ninjago City.
