  1. Something I noticed when inspecting my butterfly girl. Her neck has a white dot on it. Never seen that before. I checked a few of the other BaM exclusive torsos & they’re blank.
  2. Nice job. I like the colors & especially the roof. Those ingots look great as a roof. The interior is well done as well.
  3. Love this! The forced perspective is wonderfully depicted.
  4. New parts look great! Is the elf head new? I love the white sack & the sweater. I’m getting so far behind though...finally got the Easter minifigs, but couldn’t get the other bits I wanted(like the pie with sprinkles) due to already assembled minifgs(and I did t even think to ask about substitutions...). And I still need the Halloween tiger girl & the dachshund & Astro pug torso. Ugh.
  5. Which account? Since we can’t get a good look at any hashtags for the next day or so...
  6. 70437 Mystery Castle two BaM not so random packs...got a few cool exclusive bits though. Keychain of the girl with the Asian looking flower garb-new resident of Ninjago
  7. I’d love this. While we did just get two buildings, I enjoyed the DO build & the set is great. Having that but if a “gap” breaks up the otherwise repetitive single building facades we mostly get.
  8. It’s a shame the only buildings are small & in expensive sets. I love both of them but especially the one with the Warrior Mech. I’m still hoping to get it & add it to my Ninjago City sets.
  9. Totally. Given the limited availability too, you’d think they’d make it more appetizing by offering a few $20 sets to draw people in better. And to make the wave cheaper overall...this is a great theme & I feel of folks are missing out because the prices turn them away.
  10. Different catalog. I’m just a lowly commoner as well, no retailer catalog...just the regular one. But it shows the Speedboat & Cloud Roadster on one page & the Foundry on the other(whereas last catalogs just had the Foundry). I do hope there will be smaller sets as well though. I think we all do...
  11. Oh dang! Monkie Kid got TWO pages in the newest catalog. It’s coming up!
  12. Do we know when these, the latest wave specifically, will likely disappear? Any guesses on if we’ll have into next year or should I get it before the end of this year? I’m going Sunday to a store(first time since January) & I’m debating whether to be responsible & keep the purchase small or Ben slightly irresponsible & get the Castle...possibly while I have the chance.
  13. A great idea that I wish was around the last few years. All these big “center” type sets always have smaller bits that interest me but I missed out on most because I didn’t want to pay the sticker price. I really hope this test run goes well & it gets expanded to include more stuff. If it’s successful though, I wonder what it will do to those big sets...
  14. I’d be more than happy with Warcraft as well. I played that a lot too before I jumped to the future. Fantasy Castle was a sort of WC theme & is, in my opinion, one of the best Castle themes they’ve done, especially in recent years. While I doubt TLG would take tournaments into consideration, SC is still very popular, but probably isn’t in the minds of their target audience...so from that view I understand it will likely remain a wish. Like you said, a one off 18+ would be a hit as that would better hit the mark of who would buy a SC set.
  15. While it does pertain to magic house elves...perhaps we could get Hermione to bring back her youthful S.P.E.W.(Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare) days. Santa would be no match for her I think.
  16. The only sets that feel overpriced, for what you get at least, is the Art sets. Granted we get those new plates & a crap ton of 1x1 rounds, $120 feels overpriced. Other sets seem par for the course. Going back an additional year to WV Fire Station it was $99 for nearly the same amount of parts as this year’s Elf Clubhouse. And the Haunted House & NES, the other 18+ sets I own, feel appropriately priced. I fully expect the Modulars to be branded 18+.
  17. I would love & hate it if they made Starcraft sets. I’ve been a fan of that game forever & have longed for that BC that was made years ago by those other guys. I’d hate it though because something else would meet the chopping block in favor of SC. I think it depends on how they dress it up. Look at Carnage in the Marvel sets, who I believe we have three of. He’s a raging psychopathic serial killer...not exactly kid friendly. Nor is Deadpool, even his movie is rated R(even though the set wasn’t based on the movie).
  18. Do we have an official ruling on what exactly 18+ consists of? To add to the list, 10273 Haunted House has quite a play feature that kids will probably love. I wouldn’t say the build is overly complicated, although the mechanics of the tower lift was a bit tricky. Then we have 71374 NES. Definitely not a playset, so more appropriately rated I’d say, much like the SW Helmets. 18+ could simply be an easily marketable way to draw in unknowning adults(which is pretty much the widely accepted definition around here it seems) who would otherwise think “kids toy” when someone mentions LEGO.
  19. I don’t believe these have been aired on TV before, or just not on a major network. This Sunday(10.25) they’re airing on Fox here in the States at noon. I’m gonna give it a watch to see how much love LEGO gets. Even the little thumbnail on the TV has it with a LEGO brick background. It feels like a sign. Just a little something fun that may be worth watching.
  20. It’s that piece. You can see the bottom of it in the pile of parts from the bags.
  21. I love it. The colors are fantastic & great use of pieces. It has a nice natural flow to it.
  22. I would imagine so. It seems DA is an oddity in the case of the boxes. Looking at last year’s Winter Village set, it went from 12+ with the usual box to 18+ black box.
  23. Great looking set, but will probably be a pass for me. Besides other sets next year placing higher on the list, I’ve kinda distanced myself from buying higher end buildings set that I can’t place in my city, unless I really love them. The details on this are nice & I like the placement of the two buildings, it makes it feel full & lovely. For now. It’s a pass.
  24. Even having one new animal or other cool accessory would be enough for me to pay $5...so long as the minifig was cool as well. Case in point, this years Diver. Great new animal, below sub par minifig. The mountain bike. Another cool accessory with a below average minifig(that I still passed on). Except where HP is concerned...like you, I’m a huge HP fan(Team Hufflepuff!) so everything is making its way to me. I worry where I’d draw the line on price though. When will my head win the battle with my heart & just say “no more.”
