Hi All. Is there a page where I can get the blueprint of old Lego Technic boxes? I need to make a copy of the box of the 8280 for a gift to my son. Thanks

Where do you see it ? In the SubVessel ? I do not think that is a minifig ... but I may be blind :) Also - can we try to put the list of the new spotted parts in the sets for 2017? I wonder how many there are in fact. Regards -

No idea - I would not know that :) -
Hi. Has anyone been able to install the game on the CD that came with the set? I have this set with box but no CD was included. So I looked for the image. When I got it (downloaded from somewhere) and burn the "copy" once I insert CD installation guide is launched. I can hear the engine sound, options and that is.... What OS this was designed for WIN98? Regards

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
AOW replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, but this connector has pin hole in the midle so there would not be a torque been transferred from the piston engine to the main rotor. This is why I think there is another part there. -

In the 42057 -> what is the part in the main rotor (the one in the midle) looks like connector angled #2 180 degrees but with axle entry in the middle. Or it is just axle/pin connector #1 with single axle in the midle ? -

Yes they are in deed - but if we compare the steering used in 8462, 8428 it is pretty strong too and looks better as more realistic :) OK, lets go back to the main subject. Just to recall, how many new parts have been spotted so far from those pictures ? -

AOW replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Exactly. This may be the reason, but in "old days" we could count on at least few different steering systems show below ( I am not adding the suspension from 8858 or 8865 and 8880) where now a days all are the same -
Does anyone knows why the brick with sound and light in Duplo series has been removed and all current Police/Fire sets are with odd looking part that suppose to imitate the previous one..

Thanks, I have send out PM for the pictures. On the other hand, have you all noticed that recently Lego is making their set in the same methodology, as the building concept and parts for the last few years? What I have in my mind are - the same suspension system, the same steering system, the same main functions, very few of new parts (only those are made when really there is no other option -> like Claas, Porsche, or Mercedes - is this related to the cost cutting policy? -

Hey, can anyone put the link to Technic 2017 pictures as I cannot find it anymore - I looked at the one some pages ago, and some Star Wars sets are appearing. If this is not a problem to put the link perfect if this is an issue please delete this reply :) -

You are correct Erik, still we could take into account the 8420 from 2005 with 506 parts and 8051(Motorbike) from 2010 with 467parts, can we? As those still lets call them are NewKind in terms of parts and building methodology? -

The biggest Motorcycle by Lego Technic in count of parts so far was the : 8420 from 2005 with 506 parts. Followed by 8051 (Motorbike) from 2010 with 467parts, also Expert Builder 857 from 1979 had 409 parts (this was also made as 8857 in 1980 with the same count). Later we had the 8857 (Street Chopper) with 378p, then 42036 with 375p, 8417/8430 with 318/317p and 8422 (Circuit Stock Racer) from 1998 with 315 - all other bikes were under 300 parts. -

Sariel, I really love the front suspension well done that you "returned" to older versions, and not have replicate the current Lego Technic setups that are so often used. And it is very fast indeed Well done! :) Regards -

I really cannot understand how you all are able to find parts either new or existing in such poor quality pictures - I had enlarged them quite a lot and still cannot see s... :) I am impress by your findings :) :) regards -

8858 Rebel Wrecker Studless Model
AOW replied to Waler's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I was voting for this one in our local challenge, good that it won. Also I have noticed something interesting. Have you noticed as well that old sets with V6 engine on front have the block put in almost as in real life, as in the middle of the front suspension? Take close look on this one an compare for example with 42029... Where the engine is pushed back into the chassis. In the modern models I think only 9395 with it V4 has similar configuration. What do you think? Why it is done like that in nowadays?- 17 replies
