  1. 1st rule - front suspension i.e. McPherson type 2nd rule - proper real steering geometry 3rd rule - ok it does not count if the two previous one are done... the rest then is irrevelant
  2. Does any one have pics of the 4x4 modification? I am looking at the minimum intervention to the original set
  3. NIce in deed and looks really cool ! :)
  4. OK, thank you for your feedback and suggestions. In fact that now usually cycle life of a set by Lego is about 2 years. Some stores do hold the sets for few years even as long as Blakbird said. I will look at the suggested site to seek over the information I am looking for as well. Regards
  5. Does anyone have a source when specific sets have been end-dated ? For example, when 8850, which was introduced in 1990, was end-dated? The 8865 I believed launched in 1988 remained at least till 1992 as I recall it in the store back in Portugal when I got my 8862 for X-mast. With the current sets it is quite easy as "we are on the time" and usually set has 2 max 3 years cycle life, at least in the catalogues. If anyone have such a source I would appreciate :) :) Regards
  6. I noticed that under the Tow Trucks the 9395 has twin wheels at the back and additional lights at the top of the roof , does it also have V6 insid ;) :) http://technicopedia.com/towtrucks.html
  7. Jurss, take a look how the engine bay was made on the Lego Technic 8858 set, ok it has the V6 but has suspension and it is all in the middle. Now as Lego created new parts it could be made more efficient ...
  8. He, Sariel just posted on his Facebook page the incoming review on the 1st of June :) :)
  9. Have you notices that the wheels do not come out of the archers much? It can be seen from the picture often posted here. Another question, have you seen that there is a kind of yellow axle going into the front of the car? Then it is connected to CV join and goes somewhere into the frame ... ?
  10. "This is the Sad Model of Missed Opportunities." could not agree more.... a bit of sad it is ... the worst thing IMO is the fact how was the front suspension build.... the rest is a matter of taste...
  11. you are 100% correct !! I think Lego should be supporting Erik as he is doing their history in best possible way !
  12. Blakbird, will you be updating all the sets that are covered in the Technicopedia in the way as they are done up to 1999 ? I know that is a lot of work from your end and we really appreciate your work ! Regards
  13. Blakbird ! WOW ! really nice to see that update ! Thank you !
  14. well that depends... 42056 vs 8880Drive 1. RWD vs AWD Steering: 2. FW vs AW Gearbox 3. 4gr+R sequential vs H 4 Bodywork 4. Doors/Hood/Booth vs Booth So you decide is it really beat the legendary 8880 ... From the pictures I have seen I much dislike the front suspension ... come-one... 300$ and a suspension that was developed by Lego almost 30 years ago with introduction on the 8865? OK there is a new wheel hub and the arms are in new design but the concept is still the same... Also it looks like the 42056 does not even have ackermann steering geometry ...
  15. I always wanted to know who designed the 8865, 8880 or 8862 or 8868 .... that would be nice to know and what obstacle they had
  16. yes something similar to the hubs of 8880 would be perfect - new type of them - :)
  17. yes I too look for an update of Technicopedia :) Blakbird please :) :) :) I know you are busy but that is the ONLY site in the WEB with such a complex information !! :)
  18. Tomik and what about the main model of Universal Set 8074 ?
  19. Which of the official set B-Model (looking/functional) n your opinion is the best one, even if it is better than the A-Model ? For me for example: 8841 - primary model is (well) odd looking buggy, but the next model Tractor is the best one of this set 42028 - bulldozer looks nice, but the tracks do not work on some surface, where the B-Model track system is spectacular 42020 - B-Model looks much better and it does give more fun to play with it. Which is your list Regards
  20. wesyr - you may always try and some will (if can or want to) correct it.
  21. I recall the catalogue of 2012 release for Poland and some of the models did have the wheel on the "wrong side", odd was another thing that stickers if I recall were mirrorwed...
  22. Thank you Blakbird, this can be the solution I need to check it again - as per instruction I push in on actuator and pull out other and then mounted it all step-by-step :)
  23. A question to 8868 owners - does your set the "tower" rotates more than 180 degrees? On my if I rotate it to the left (looking from top to front) it will go up to 90deg. But when I do the right turn i will go up to 95-100 degrees. Do you have similar ?
