The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion

I am liking what we see in the CMFs, hopefully the variety of accessories and such will make it possible to find which one you are getting as easily as previous CMFs. -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
jonwil replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I am loving the space set with the new pink classic space fig. Although it looks like the other guy is Bright Light Orange rather than proper yellow, what was LEGO thinking there? :( -
A Golden Gate Bridge (either on its own or better yet, as part of a San Francisco skyline set) would be awesome. I am thinking of doing a MOC version of a skyline for my hometown (Brisbane Australia).

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

How about a modular with a good amount of a color like Dark Azure? Something with a good supply of dark blue or dark green would also be cool. -

If they did do a police station, one in the style of the Springfield station from The Simpsons or the one you see in Police Academy 2 (that general older style of police precinct) would be a good way to go. Not something all sleek and modern like we get in the City police stations. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I am surprised the Parisian Restaurant hasn't retired yet given how old it is and given that its the last of the older type modulars before they went to the more story driven stuff starting with the DO. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
jonwil replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
LEGO calls it tan because it likely IS tan. Its likely a tan element that has then been coated with the metallic gold color and the blue stripes. Its definitely metallic gold and not perl gold though that's for sure. -
Speed Champions 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
jonwil replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Town
They could do what they did with the GT and GT40 with a current-generation Dodge Charger and, say, an old-school Charger similar to the one in Dukes of Hazard (but not the General Lee itself, just the same model)- 428 replies

There are still projects on the site that are based on existing licenses including the Ferrari 512s, Toy Story set, Knight Rider car, UCS London Bus, A-Team van, Audi Quatro, Alice in Wonderland and some others. Things that (to the best of my knowledge) were spelled out as active licenses when they first introduced the rules in question.

I wish they would just go back to selling the road plates separately (either as a pack of 2 or just one) rather than mixing the types up.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
jonwil replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
FYI, all the red track pieces are currently showing up as available for me. -
I am planning to build a MOC of the XXXX Brewery here in Brisbane (very famous brewery). This brewery has a set of 4 red neon style X's on top of the building. These X's light up in sequence, none then 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then back to none. Does anyone have any suggestions of a lighting option (either LEGO or 3rd party) that could provide (or be programmed to provide) the desired effect? (preferably with a way to control how long it goes before moving to the next step in the sequence)

Recent changes to Shop@Home for AU & NZ
jonwil replied to Pchan1983's topic in General LEGO Discussion
These days I only buy Bricks & Pieces online from LEGO. For things I can't get from local retailers, I go to the Dreamworld store (I had multiple Shop @ Home orders get miss-delivered where the only thing that made it here without issue was the Bricks & Pieces and with Dreamworld being easy to get to and charging no shipping, its a no-brainer to get my stuff from there) Interestingly if you add anything from the site (even one single piece of Pick A Brick) to a Bricks & Pieces order, the shipping costs come down compared to just a Bricks & Pieces order alone. (or at least they did when I checked last). -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I have zero interest in a re-released GG. I was kinda interested in the Fire Brigade but then LEGO came out with the GBHQ and the interest in the FB went away :) I would rather see something new with lots of cool pieces and stuff (the Downtown Diner is amazing on that score :) -
Speed Champions 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

I would love to see them use their VAG license and do a Lamborghini in the Speed Champions line. A Speed Champions Lamborghini falls squarely into "shut up and take my money" territory for me.- 428 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

B&P is a great way to get a larger quantity of parts that would otherwise be hard to get (e.g. I bought 1 x 1 tiles in trans-clear and 1 x 1 bricks in trans-black from B&P in the past, both in quantity) -
Nice one getting your Ideas project on the front page of what (as far as I can tell) is a reasonably well-read paper in that town.

I see no reason why a record store couldn't be on the second floor of a post office or some other business (after all, the first Virgin store was in a shop above a Shoe Store) -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
jonwil replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I believe they said in one of the videos for the Downtown Diner that they wanted to do a car dealership but had difficulty fitting it all in due to the space available. I think a petrol station doesn't really fit (the typical image of a petrol station, even an old petrol station, isn't one in the bottom of a taller building). More medical would definitely be welcome (especially if its something different like the Dentist in the Downtown Diner was) Hopefully whatever it is has as many neat parts and things as the Detective's Office, Brick Bank, Assembly Square and Downtown Diner. -
I wish they would re-issue the yellow bike, it would fit well with the postal stuff (in fact IIRC the yellow bike only ever came in a single postal themed set)

Its probably been mentioned before but I would love to see an "Outback Explorers" theme set in the Australian Outback. In terms of existing animals, use the crocodile, spider, snake, camel, goat and cow (all of which can be found in the outback). In terms of new animals, you could introduce a sheep, a kangaroo, an emu and maybe a koala or wombat or platypus. Maybe find a dog mold you could use for a dingo or a wild dog. Bonus points if there is a non-racist culturally sensitive way to get Aborigines into the sets (with the boomerang piece in brown please) As for the minifigs, introduce a new mold for an Aussie bushman hat (different from the Fedora, the various cowboy hats and the Johnny Thunder type hat). Torsos could feature Aussie bushman type oilskin coats with lots of beards on the heads. Sets would include off-road 4x4 vehicles including at least one proper Ute along with lots of sand and rock type pieces. Old ruined stone or wooden buildings with tin roofs and verandahs over the edge. Must include a water pump style windmill (a feature of stations and properties all across the outback). You could also include the small nimble helicopters used all across the outback for all sorts of jobs (we all know TLG likes to put helicopters in their sets :) One set could be "Outback Medivac" or something and feature an airplane similar in nature to the ones the Royal Flying Doctor Service use (the closest they have come to what I am suggesting is a older medical airplane that was released only as an in-flight purchase and is therefore hard to get)

I can't see TLG doing a casino (exposing kids to gambling doesn't seem like something TLG would do) -
I have dark red 1x1 round bricks that have suffered damage. And a pair of broken dark red wheel arches that I need to replace in my next Bricks & Pieces order.

What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
jonwil replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If they did go for a package delivery driver, given that they wont do a real-world company (not in a CMF anyway), the best way to go (IMO) would be to use the cargo logo they have been using in sets like last years cargo terminal or the 2016 Cargo Train and base the figure off that.
