  1. That shuttle will never pass approval (the rules for what's not allowed due to existing Ideas product explicitly list the Space Shuttle)
  2. If they do dream-works I want LEGO Madagascar. Imagine all the cool parts such a theme could deliver...
  3. At some point I should get a Bricks & Pieces order happening.
  4. It may be well known but how many people would be interested in a LEGO model of it?
  5. Looking at the sets in review, none of them seem particularly viable except maybe the food stands (although LEGO seems to be doing similar products themselves like that donut shop in the new City set or the pizza van from a while back or the Friends hot dog van). In terms of the sets for the next review, The Pirate Bay seems like a good way to release something Pirate themed assuming they can bring it in at a reasonable price point. SpaceX doesn't seem like it would work (they still have the Saturn V Rocket on the shelves so I dont see another rocket product being done) The museum seems a bit big and a bit boring (how many people know of it outside of Brazil?) They did Birds previously and I dont think a model that large of a bird that most people have probably never really heard of will be that popular. Addams Family seems possible (seems to be comparable in size to the Haunted House or maybe a little bigger), the licensing (and costs) would be the issue there. Not sure there is much overlap between LEGO fans/collectors and The Office (as opposed to The Big Bang Theory). Then again, I said the same thing about the Friends set and they greenlit that. 123 Sesame Street wont happen unless Mega gives up their license (which they would be unlikely to do) Anatomini is neat but fairly large and complex (would it be popular enough to justify making it? Not sure) I dont see Machu Picchu working, I dont think its famous enough (I could be wrong on that though)
  6. Picked mine up from the Dreamworld LEGO store today (Chip, Dale, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Scrooge, Mickey, Minnie) and they are great. Still wish I could add Donald to my collection without paying through the nose for him online...
  7. What about a cement mixer or concrete pumper truck, neither of which has been done in Technic (and the latter has never been done by LEGO at all)
  8. I would love to see a Lamborghini in the same size as the Porsche and Bugatti with the same functionality and level of detail. Make it in yellow please. Or heck, do a Lamborghini in the same size as the Mustang. Or even a Speed Champions Lambo. I dont care what size it is, I just want a Lambo for my collection that doesn't require paying the obscene aftermarket prices for the old Gallardo.
  9. Too bad none of the retailers here in Australia have broken the street date like they seem to have done in other countries, I really want to get my hands on some of these figs...
  10. Someone on another forum mentioned that an Australian toy store posted a list of "limited release LEGO comming soon" including things like the new Empire State Building, Flintstones, Steamboat Willie, Mustang and some other stuff. On that list was this item "75810 LEGO Stranger Things $ 349.99"
  11. I like the Space stuff, some great parts there although some of the designs (like the big SLS rocket) aren't particularly grabbing me.
  12. I am loving the new Empire State Building although I dont even want to know how wallet-bustingly expensive it will be here in Oz...
  13. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to build the giant XXXX sign seen in these photos? http://cometravellingwithus.blogspot.com/2012/08/xxxx-brewery-tour-look-listen-learnthen.html For reference I was thinking of making the sign 3 bricks high.
  14. The Creator 3-in-1 sets used to be REALLY good. Sets like the Model Town House, Beach House, Family Home, Hillside House, Log Cabin, Seaside House, Family House and Bike Shop & Cafe were amazing. Great designs and architecture and great sources of parts. Then you moved to sets like the Mountain Hut, Changing Seasons, Beach Hut, Corner Deli and Lakeside Lodge. Smaller with more parts allocated to things like flowers and other little bits rather than great buildings. The houses also (in quite a few cases) stopped being the biggest and best Creator 3-in-1 set of the year. Then in 2017 LEGO started making their Creator Houses even worse with the "modular" idea and they kept getting smaller with less of the great useful bits the old sets had (larger size windows and doors, decent quantity of basic bricks in useful colors, things like that) If LEGO brought back more sets similar in size/parts count/parts selection/price point to the Family House (the last of the truly great Creator houses IMO) I would buy it no question. And I am sure I am not alone...
  15. I think Googie/Raygun Gothic would be perfect for a bowling alley. Or a hotel/motel. Or a hamburger joint/drive in restaurant (we just got the Downtown Diner so that probably wont happen) And I do agree neoclassical would fit very well for a museum or a library (the famous New York Public Library is exactly the sort of style I was thinking of when I thought about buildings that copy the ancient Greek/Roman style, that and the equally famous New York Stock Exchange down on Wall St)
  16. "Color Images" lists a LEGO color code of 6191630 for the black part. The Brickset database says it appeared in one set, the Wyldstyle Brickheadz set. It is also available from LEGO Bricks & Pieces (which is probably where the people who have large quantities got theirs from) Its not appearing in the "known colors" on Bricklink because no-one has inventoried the Wyldstyle set yet.
  17. I definitely think Googie/Raygun Gothic would fit well in LEGO (modular or otherwise). Lots of curves and angles, bright colors, lights and signs and details. Plus its got that "space age" look from things like The Jetsons. I do see that Brutalist wouldn't work so well in a modular building (although an Architecture representation of the AT&T long lines building might be interesting...)
  18. https://www.megabloks.com/en-us/products/sesame-street
  19. Picked up the 4+ A-Wing today thanks to a retailer sale and whilst the torso/legs probably aren't as good as the dark green version would have been, it does work pretty good for the pilot of my F/A-18 Hornet and work can continue on modifying the airplane itself to look more like the real thing (e.g. adding the dummy weapons they use when they do aerobatic displays of the sort my F/A-18 will be displays doing)
  20. A few items getting closer to 10k that might work as products. The "pursuit of flight" idea seems different and interesting, especially with the movement aspect. Thunderbirds might work as well (although the size is questionable and I dont know if it would have licensing issues) The Sesame Street set is really cool, pitty someone else has the license :(
  21. My F/A-18 Hornet is based on the twin-tail airplane from https://brickset.com/sets/60103-1/Airport-Air-Show but changed to light and dark grey with some mods (and more mods to come as I continue to work on it) I do own the entire Sky Police line (including the figure in question) but I dont like the jail stripes on the torso. The dark green torso/legs combo you have in your airplane is only available in a 2013 A-Wing set. The one in the more recent A-Wing sets (the 2017 set and the new 2019 Juniors set) is regular green. But I think it would still work even in the regular green (and the used market prices for the set/minifig/torso & legs make acquiring the dark green version not worthwhile for me) so I will try and get the 4+ set (which also has a few interesting parts) and go with that.
  22. Has anyone seen (or made) a purist Gambit from the X-Men universe? Or a purist Professor X (not in the floating chair thing but in an actual wheelchair)
  23. Can anyone suggest a good torso for a fighter pilot flight suit (something that might be appropriate for someone piloting an F/A-18 Hornet) Preferably something that isn't from some licensed set where its going to cost a fortune and or be impossible to find. For reference I intend to use the new visor (in trans-black), the helmet (in dark green) and the light grey oxygen mask as the headgear on the fighter pilot.
  24. A Harley Davidson would be great (mostly since it would be one less thing to suck my wallet dry, bikes aren't my thing :)
  25. As someone who didn't get the original Empire State (but was able to build it minus the printed tile from my own collection) and would like the NYC Skyline if I can get it at a reasonable price (unlikely now that its discontinued), the new Empire State Building sounds very interesting. Who knows, if I end up making the trip to the USA (including New York) I am thinking of doing, I might be able to pick up a copy in the same city as the building represented by the set (would be the first time since I have not been to any cities that have Architecture representations since the line began)
