I would love an optometrist although they did do one in last years hospital. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
jonwil replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have discovered that if I use parts I already own, omit parts that are purely decorative, buy parts on the cheap from various places and possibly make color substitutions, I can get most of the way to owning the big red roller coaster at a lot less than the RRP of the entire set if I buy all the track pieces from B&P. I wonder if anyone else has discovered that they own enough of the parts for a set that they can use B&P to buy the rest and have the entire set... -
They did a really nice racing airplane earlier this year in Creator. Kinda reminds me of the folding-wing airplanes of the US Navy during WW2. But yeah I agree some airplane racing stuff (maybe inspired by the likes of the Red Bull Air Race or something) in City would be great

The order status page is working for me :) -
In regards to the discussion about classic themes (and Space in particular), I am an AFOL with a fairly good LEGO collection. I bought the entire Alien Conquest line (except the 2 polybags and the battle pack which I was never able to get hold of easily). I bought a fair few of the sets from the Space Police 3 line (including the Lunar Limo) and regret not buying the big base set at the time. I also bought a few Mars Mission sets and a lot of Life On Mars stuff. I bought the Exo-Suit, the Space Squad and the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP. And I have a large collection of older space stuff (Classic Space, Futuron, Space Police 1, Blacktron 1 and Ice Planet in particular but parts and figs and such from other themes as well). Oh and I own the full NASA Discovery line of sets, the Saturn V Rocket, the Women of NASA, the Lunar Lander and quite a few of the City Space sets including the new modular space station. So you can see that I just LOVE alll things LEGO Space. I do not buy Star Wars (except for the rare occasion I buy one on sale for parts such as when I bought the 4+ A-Wing a while back to get a few parts for a MOC) but if LEGO released a decent Space line (be it new sets that fit into an old theme, a sequel to an older theme like happend with Space Police 3 or a totally new theme) I would be VERY likely to buy the sets in the line (assuming I can afford it of course).

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

That email thing seems to be intended for people buying lots of parts for a large scale creation and it suggests the parts dont come from the usual Bricks & Pieces stockpile but come off the production line or get made specially or something (hence the "parts we dont produce anymore" statement on the page which would explain parts that are out of production but still in stock on regular old B&P not being included in the order and also the statement about Pick A Brick plus the mentions about "200 of an element"). I dont think its intended for someone who just wants a small quantity of x number of parts. Me, now that I figured out what parts LEGO will sell me (or at least make available to me in the B&P interface) and what those cost on B&P vs BL (some parts are much cheaper on B&P like the roller coaster tracks/cars and all that Chinese food while other parts are much more expensive like the printed vet clinic window from the Corner Garage, the 6 x 14 plate in purple, the 8 x 8 plate in purple and the front nose from the current passenger train) I can make up an order on B&P and see if LEGO will actually sell it to me or not. -
City already does a lot of racing sets (everything from F1 cars to monster trucks) so I think that's been covered. That and Speed Champions anyway. I second the wish for Outback to come back. Imagine "City Outback Explorers".

The Corner Garage is the first modular in quite a few years I have no interest in. Mostly because I dont like the dark orange color they used. Although I intend to pick up a few of the neat parts (like the printed vet surgery window piece and the "octan gas" tile) from Bricks & Pieces or BrickLink in the near future for potential future use in MOCs. -

Willie tile from Steamboat Willie set Some of these may be old news to you guys but I haven't made a B&P order since April last year so these are definitely new and interesting to me :) Some of the parts LEGO will sell are surprising (in that I would have figured them for "licensed" parts) and some of the parts they wont sell me are also surprising (like that 1x4 piano keys tile) Interesting to note that the light royal blue parts (even the basic parts like the 1x1 brick) from the HP carriage set seem to be considered licensed parts (unless they are "out of stock" because they sold out so fast after they were listed). Of the 595 parts on my initial wish list, LEGO is offering to sell me 352 of them (at least through the B&P interface, actually putting in my credit card and payment is another matter and like others have reported it may error out at that point). My next task is to put the entire wish list (all 595 parts) into a BL wanted list (or all that show up in the BL database anyway), see how BL prices compare to B&P (some parts are significantly cheaper on BL which makes B&P not worth it), see if there are any Australian BL stores that make sense to order from (either parts that LEGO wont sell me or parts where BL is cheap enough compared to B&P that BL makes sense to buy from) and then after that, turn what's left of that 352 pieces into a B&P order and see if LEGO will actually sell me anything. I will likely be placing a general Shop @ Home order anyway since I need another Powered Up motor and I want that Metalbeard Party Mech (which isn't available even at the LEGO stores here in Australia, only from Shop @ Home) -

I am on my PC right now and its letting me get as far as the "enter credit card" screen (and I just found out that my plan to use B&P to get the parts I dont have for the Steamboat Willie ideas set is not worthwhile given the cost of those parts and the cost of the set itself so that idea is off the table although I will probably chuck some of the interesting parts into any B&P order I will make if I dont get an error when I actually stick in my credit card later on with an actual order) -
Toronto makes a lot of sense for the skyline sets IMO. The CN tower is an obvious choice and its got some skyscrapers that would be good candidates as well like the Bay Wellington Tower/TD Canada Trust Tower pairing or Scotia Plaza. Kuala Lumpur might work although it might work better to do the Petronas Towers as a standalone set rather than part of a skyline.

Its ridiculous that the world's largest toy company can't get a simple e-commerce operation working right in 2019. Maybe they should stop putting so much effort into "site improvements" (like the recent one that did away with shop.lego.com and changed up the whole LEGO site) and instead just focus on getting things to actually WORK... -
Nice. It really does look like an old IBM Mainframe.

Has anyone actually talked to LEGO customer service on the phone about the errors when trying to pay and if so what did they say about it? -
Never heard of a news boat before, I dont think they exist. Helicopters and vans and cars (even off-road things) yes, boats no.

Hopefully they fix it soon, I have an order I want to make (and there will be parts in it that I would like to use for the show we are doing on the 5th of October). -
I didn't know there was a news van in the Donut Shop set, now I want that set even more...

I visited Bricks & Pieces just now via https://www.lego.com/en-au/service/replacementparts?chosenflow=3 and it asked me for my age and country (I selected Australia obviously). Then I added some random parts to my cart to test and it let me check out to the main shop with the LEGO® Bricks & Pieces showing up in the cart. I can then go as far as the "enter your credit card number" screen. So for me at least it seems to be working unless the error only appears after you plug in the credit card details. -
A TV 6+ news van (with one of those dish type antennas on the roof that send signals back to base) would be great, I would buy it.

I wonder if the Space sets aren't selling because they released the new wave too soon after the last one? -

Bought the space station today, great set with some neat parts and stickers (although one of the curved white parts was damaged and I have submitted a request to LEGO for a replacement) The whole City Space line is really great and the only reason I dont have the whole lot yet is lack of funds. -

I like the 2018 hospital as well. If nothing else its a great source of medical related parts and stickers for any future hospital MOCs I end up doing. -

I have plans for a fairly large order of parts and other things that I want to place (potentially serveral hundred dollars worth) but I can't until they allow Australians to order from the site again. -
I saw some interesting stuff in the bins at the Dreamworld LEGO store yesterday but I just couldn't justify spending the $20 asking price for 3 figures...

Something that would be neat to see (and different to the usual) would be a mounted police set. Plenty of police forces have horses and its never been done in LEGO before. Or how about a police dive unit (with a boat and some police wearing scuba gear) For the fire lineup, how about a rescue truck (with some new rescue tool molds) or a hazmat truck. How about more options for people to have fun (a bowling alley or video arcade would be very cool) How about more food places or trucks (Taco Truck anyone?)
