  1. Yeah the piano keys tile is in my order (I have 2 from the purple Metalbeard mech set and now I have another 4 comming in the order) My order has now moved to "in warehouse" which is great (hopefully that means they actually have stock of the parts I ordered)
  2. They said in reports about the diner that they couldn't make a car dealer work in the modulars so I doubt they are doing that for 2020.
  3. After a long time searching for parts I wanted and a few times where I was at the point of "what parts do I actually want to order" before deciding I couldn't do an order at that time (and of course all the times B&P was down or not working) I have finally actually places a B&P order and its gone through all the payment steps (taking my credit card etc) and I have an order number. I also recorded the list of parts on the page where it shows you your parts before you go to the main lego shop checkout/cart so if for whatever reason things don't work I can go the "contact LEGO via other means and get them to handle the order" route. Spent A$221.29 on parts (plus $6.99 on an xtra streetlamps polybag to avoid paying the $15 shipping). Ordered 445 parts across 129 lots (I dont know what the maximum number of lots per order is but it let me order the 129 without complaining). Order status is now "in process" (with the streetlamps at "in warehouse" and all the B&P parts are "in process"). Hopefully things don't go wrong and I actually get all the parts I ordered sent to me (my online bank shows the hold has been placed on the money so the credit card stuff seemed to work right I hope) Quite a few nice pieces in this order too including many parts that would otherwise require purchasing expensive sets to obtain (like all the chinese food from the chinese restaurant set, the tan 1 x 3 inverted slope that only comes in the Harley, the 1 x 3 x 2 glass in trans-black that only comes in the London bus, the 1/4 circle taco print from that one Friends sports set, the 2 rainbow print 1x1 tiles from the Trafalgar Square set, the bellhop torso from last years City set with the hotel, various printed and special pieces from the Steamboat Willie set and some minifig parts that are only found in the more expensive Hidden Side sets like the school and train and bus) It was hard getting from the 322 parts from my wishlist that LEGO listed as "for sale" down to the 129 parts I actually ordered but it was worth it :)
  4. If I wasn't so busy with other things (like getting ready for the next LEGO show) I would make something that looks like an old school Ute (also known as a pickup truck in countries other than Australia). Not a big pickup truck but one of the more car-like pickups. Done in the right style and color (maybe something like azure or dark green or some other color we don't see as much of) I think it would be very cool as a set.
  5. The new parts (Halloween etc) are now in stock at the Dreamworld LEGO store here in Queensland for those interested. If I could do the "take 15 random parts" thing that others here have done at other stores I might be willing to spend the $20 and pick some up (especially since the bins at Dreamworld currently have some CMF S1 Nurse torsos in there and I could use more of those) but I wasn't able to find 3 complete figs worth spending $20 on.
  6. They could invent a new piece for such a truck (printed or molded).
  7. I hope LEGO repeats what they did with the Old Fishing Store where it was filled with all sorts of fishing/boating/diving/nautical/marine parts and fills this set with all things pirate.
  8. I think a taco truck would go well in the Great Vehicles line. Or a truck selling some sort of meat (chicken wings, barbecue, something like that)
  9. I would love to see more proper Space sets (classic or otherwise) to go along with the Exo-Suit (and some recent non-Ideas things like the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! and the Space Squad) Too bad LEGO seems unwilling to take a risk on anything that might in some way harm sales of the overpriced crap that is Star Wars...
  10. Be nice if the stores here (Dreamworld and now Robina) got some of these nice pieces.
  11. Its not just about piece count, its also piece size (i.e. does the set include larger parts or smaller parts) and overall cost (certain parts cost more for LEGO to make than others)
  12. The clear dome pieces, the other big clear pieces and also the pieces at both ends next to where the big clear pieces are.
  13. Nice though that station is, I can't see it being made into an actual set (it relies on several long-discontinued parts and unlike some Ideas sets, these parts aren't ones that can easily be substituted with other things that are still in production)
  14. The secret is to try and have colors that please most of the people most of the time. And to have enough variety of colors (and parts and subject material) across all available products such that everyone can find something they like.
  15. Hopefully they include some good colors in the next modular (like they did with all the teal and pink shades in the Downtown Diner or all that lovely dark red in the Ghostbusters Firehouse). Only reason I dont own the Garage is that ugly dark orange color (which I don't like and don't use).
  16. I am not convinced that train station would be approved. That project is even more reliant on discontinued parts than The Pirate Bay is (the large curved tan parts only ever appeared in yellow in a single 1995 Aquazone set, the large pieces for the dome last appeared in a 1998 Aquazone set and the other large clear pieces last appeared in a 1996 Exploriens set).
  17. ts clear from looking at the original submission that there will need to be changes to the set before it goes into production. If nothing else, there are parts in it that are out-of-production and unlikely to make it into the final set. The set appears to be using a raised baseplate that was last seen in 2011 and has never existed in the color they are using it in so they may not be able to use that part. There are a few other parts that haven't been seen in a while and may not be available to the designers to use but the baseplate seems to be the only one I see that's actually vital to the design as built by the project submitter.
  18. The Pirate Bay might be interesting to sit alongside my reissue Black Seas Barracuda and as a source of neat parts (the Old Fishing Store ended up as a source of neat parts, hopefully The Pirate Bay does the same. And just like the Fishing Store was filled with all things fishing and nautical, hopefully The Pirate Bay gets filled with all things pirate (including some nice treasure). The piano I will reserve judgement on until they actually reveal what "playable" means in the final set (it got delayed presumably so they could figure that part out) But as long as they dont screw it up somehow and as long as they include a decent set of figs 123 Sesame Street is a must-buy for me just because of how awesome the show is (or at least was until HBO got their hands on it and ruined it)
  19. Considering Mega has the Futurama license that ship wont get made unfortunately.
  20. Interesting that Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are not allowed even though they haven't done anything with that license since the Dimensions packs in 2015 (so it's not denied because its an "active license") and its never had an Ideas project (so its not denied because its already had an Ideas set).
  21. I think Sky Police is great. Love the new parts they introduced like the visor and oxygen mask (and the parachute as well) And the sets in general are great sources of neat parts (for the things I build City police stations are pretty much always good sources of parts which is why I own all of them except one older one I never got)
  22. The IP checker is interesting although its clear there are things on the "allowed" list that would probably be rejected as "inappropriate for LEGO" should a project get to review stage. Avatar (the James Cameron blockbuster with the blue people) is listed as "allowed" but considering the main story is all about the military going to a foreign land (planet in this case) to wipe out the native species and strip mine the place I can't see it being approved (then again, if Disney thinks its OK for its theme parks maybe it's OK for LEGO as well). Downton Abby is listed but I suspect it would probably violate the rules about religion.
  23. Does anyone know what locomotive models the Santa Fe and the BNSF are based on?
  24. I am looking at B&P right now (via the AUD backdoor link I posted previously) and the light grey barrel (element 6278993) is showing up as "in stock" with a price of 0.94AUD (not sure if its "in stock" online but will be rejected if you actually try to order it) EDIT: The barrel also appears in the Hidden Side bus.
  25. I love B&P because it lets me get parts that would otherwise only be available by buying expensive sets. For example I picked up the 2x2 tile with space shuttle blueprints from the 2015 City Space Shuttle set without having to buy the entire expensive set (most of which I had no interest in). And I was able to buy the teapot without having to buy one of the expensive sets that contained it (at that point it was only in expensive sets). Its also good for getting more of a part where I don't want to have to buy a second copy of the set (one example being the lifeguard torso from the Fun at the Beach set). Or for getting parts in bigger quantities than would be easy via any other methods (as I did with 1 x 1 tiles in trans-orange and 1 x 1 bricks in trans-brown, both of which I wanted in quantity for my bus and other vehicle MOCs) I hope they dont close B&P and that they can sort out whatever problems exist (stock being offered for sale when they can't sell it due to licensing, stock being offered for sale when they have no stock, stock being offered for sale when they have low stock and need to retain what they have left for "replacement parts" requests or whatever other things are going on) and bring the site back up so I can actually order some of the neat parts on my wish list this side of the xmas shutdown. EDIT: At least I have a somewhat working backdoor way to see prices in AUD (to make sure I don't order anything on Bricklink that is cheaper on B&P by any meaningful amount)
