  1. If they are loosing money on B&P they could add a "processing fee" to cover the costs of hand-picking the items (or just increase the per-item cost to cover the cost of that processing)
  2. 3D printed anything (or 3rd party anything) is out of the question for a LEGO Ideas project. If LEGO doesn't make the correct wheels for your train, you can't submit it.
  3. I can't see Stargate Atlantis being approved anyway, its got just as much violent content and modern military stuff as SG-1. Both shows feature main characters using high-power military guns like the FN P90 and other weapons all the way up to rocket launchers and machine guns. Its not like, say, Star Wars where the guns are all sci-fi and fictional or like Western or Pirates or Batman where the guns look older and less like the guns being shown on the news all the time when there is a shooting or something. Soldiers in both shows are seen wearing military uniforms as well (again unlike Star Wars where the uniforms look a lot more fictional) If by some miracle LEGO does approve a Stargate project (and its not something boring like a micro-scale model of some big ship but something actually containing minifigs) I would probably buy it but I can't see it happening unless LEGO changes its stance on "military stuff" in its sets.
  4. I have no clue if you can actually somehow order through it (and I don't want to try) but for me at least this link https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts/sale?customizationId=53dee6e9-c382-4a22-9d53-6408261034b1&productid=&market=US&locale=en-us&sessionId=e83d0667-d283-4ff5-8dd7-4a8465eeb3c3 lets me browse Bricks & Pieces and see prices in AUD.
  5. I think LEGO should make some UCS sets of smaller vehicles like Luke's Landspeeder or the A-Wing. Things they can do at a lower price point than say the UCS X-Wing or UCS Tie but that are still detailed enough to qualify as UCS. Sets like the UCS X-Wing, UCS TIE and UCS Y-Wing have US RRPs of $200 or so. Plenty of smaller vehicles they could do as UCS at around the US $100 price point.
  6. I have zero interest in The Office but if the Seinfeld set gets greenlit, YES YES very much YES. Especially if they have nifty prints and recolored parts and stuff.
  7. An Ice Planet reboot would be great to see. At least we got a bunch of parts that are useful for Ice Planet creations via things like Nexo Knights. (all that lovely trans-fluro-orange)
  8. LEGO has all sorts of constraints that limit how many Ideas sets they can introduce to the lineup. Things like factory capacity and the need to produce more of popular sets like Star Wars and City and stuff. (even the best selling and most popular Ideas set will never match the production numbers of most mainstream sets in themes like Star Wars or City or Friends or Super Heroes or whatever)
  9. My wish is for anything Space (new or rebooted) that's actually GOOD. Of course, doing the kind of Space sets I like and want more of is unlikely to happen because they would be the kind of sets that would be "too close to Star Wars" (regardless of what the license may say, LEGO isn't going to want to produce Space sets that are too much like the Star Wars stuff)
  10. I wasn't trying to order the entire set via B&P, I only needed about 1100 pieces (out of the 4k pieces the set has) and that would have cost me (at .AU B&P pricing) the $391 price I quoted (the 2 x 2 round white bricks would have cost $71 just by themselves). Bricklink could have reduced that $391 price but not by enough to be worth doing vs just buying the whole set. Trying to buy any set via B&P will cost a lot more than RRP that's for sure, its only worth it if you have close to all the parts (or if there is only a specific part of the set you are interested in like the example of the engine from the Disney Train)
  11. Dr Who is not allowed because once they make something with Ideas any future projects that are similar or related are not allowed at all.
  12. Duplo Lion King product would be the exception to the "shut up and take my money" thing.
  13. Maybe they still have a bunch of parts that aren't supposed to be listed for sale (either because the part is listed for sale when they have no stock or its a part that is "IP locked" or otherwise not intended to be sold but its being listed for sale) and the run of orders in the time since B&P came back up have included a bunch of such parts. Thankfully I wont be doing any B&P order anytime soon, not after finally scoring a deal I was happy with and buying the roller coaster outright.
  14. Finally managed to add this beauty to my collection (a combination of a little bit of extra money and a sufficient discount at a store I could walk into and buy the set from lead me to jump on it now before it gets harder to find from stores here in Australia that might have a discount on it) and its a fun build so far. Amazing set and I am glad I got one now before it became impossible to find at a good price.
  15. If LEGO ever does anything that's even vaguely connected to The Lion King, shut up and take my money please.
  16. Looking at projects currently in the review process, I wonder if the Seven Dwarves house is allowed or not. Or SpaceX. Or Addams Family. Or Sesame Street. Or Thunderbirds. And then there are IPs that have a lot of projects on the site like Zelda, are those on the list? And I wonder about cars like the Lamborghini projects out there (I own the blue police Lambo, wish I had been able to get the yellow Lambo and would LOVE another LEGO Lambo set for my collection be it Technic like the Porsche and Bugatti or Creator like the Mustang)
  17. Buying the parts from B&P (ignoring BL and not counting the sticker sheet, the 2x3 medium blue tile or the red unprinted head all 3 of which B&P wont sell me) would have cost me around $391 based on Aussie B&P pricing (not far off the $400 I actually paid for the set). Now BL would have brought that down a fair bit but probably not enough to make it worth doing (especially when shipping costs from B&P and multiple BL stores are all factored in) vs just buying the whole thing and getting brand new LEGO with the stickers and instructions and box and everything. I wonder if the piano keys tile from the Friends set (and that purple Metalbeard mech) is considered IP locked or if its actually "out of stock" and will be available later.
  18. In the end I decided to just go for it and pick up the whole roller coaster set before it disappears for good (or at least from anywhere that might actually have it cheaper than RRP)
  19. So it turns out that "I have most of the parts and can buy the rest from B&P/BL" doesn't necessarily mean you get the bargain you were expecting when its a set with over 4000 pieces and you still need over 1000 to complete the set...
  20. Being licensed I doubt the minifig parts from the FRIENDS set will appear on B&P.
  21. I dont think The Office would have made anywhere near as good an Ideas set as Big Bang Theory or Central Perk. Sienfield could definitely work IMO ( Looking at what's on Ideas in the "licensed" category there are some projects on there that (if they hit 10k) will be rejected fairly quickly I suspect. Hero Quest for example, not only are the rights owned Hasbro IIRC but LEGO tried something similar with Heroica and it didn't work. Or like the WWF/WWE projects I see (does LEGO want to assiociate itself with all the controversy that goes with pro wrestling?). Or the NFL football (how many kids or even adults would buy such a thing even in the US rather than just buying an actual football) Other projects seem too specific to a certain town or area to be viable projects (given that Ideas projects need to have some level of global appeal). Something like the Toronto subway cars, how many LEGO fans know what a Toronto subway car looks like or would be interested in a model of one? Or that Wish Bus, is that known outside of whatever location the radio station it seems to be tied to is from? But if I look at all the licensed projects, the one that I am most suprised was even allowed is the Commodore 64 project (clearly the LEGO team doesn't know what the project is actually proposing otherwise they would have pulled it down already given what would be required to actually put real hardware or even emulation/simulation/whatever powers those "retro C64" things into the LEGO shell)
  22. Finished my checks, 3 parts have gone to "out of stock" and a couple of interesting parts are in stock (either previously out of stock or new to my list). The black round "bomb" piece from the Joker 4+ set is now showing up as for sale (it wasn't before) The 1 x 2 brick with horizontal and vertical grooves in dark red (from the Disney train) is available for sale, as are dark pink legs, blue roller skates, and bright light blue short legs. Now to turn my list into a couple of orders (2 at least, possibly 3) and hope the parts I am ordering (most of which are used in sets dated 2019 or 2018) are actually in stock :)
  23. Time to jump in on an order I think and hope it doesn't get shut down again or otherwise screw up before I can place the order... Maybe if I get the order in fast enough it will arrive by the end of the month :)
  24. Just finished building the purple Metalbeard mech, its a great set with some great parts, probably one of the best sets in the entire TLM2 line IMO.
  25. I would like to see a racing sailboat/yacht in the Great Vehicles line, the sort of thing you see in the Olympics or the Americas Cup or other similar races. We had a sailboat in the 2017 Coast Guard line but that doesn't look all that much like a racing sailboat (the Technic one they did a while back is good but a City one would be nice)
