  1. Is there anyone here who has both the new Friends giraffe and the elephant from last year's City sets and can tell me if they would look good next to each other (or can take a photo of both)? I have the elephant and am wondering if the giraffe would fit or if its too "friends" to work with the City animals...
  2. Very happy right now, got a very late unexpected birthday gift from someone of the Thor's Hammer set. Amazing set and bigger than I thought. Now I need to somehow find the money to afford the new gauntlet (since I already have the Iron Man mask and Infinity Gauntlet and have no reason not to collect all the Avengers buildable things like that).
  3. My spend for the rest of 2022 would be a fair bit higher if new parts (esp coaster track) were for sale.
  4. A quick look on Brickset shows close to 20 polybags for Star Wars that contain a figure (and sometimes accessory) and nothing else. If the license supposedly prevents such things then how are those sets all allowed?
  5. It will never happen (likely too violent and not popular enough) but the XB Falcon GT from Mad Max would be awesome and a likely must-have. +1 for Bluesmobile and KITT. (KITT seems like a logical choice for a set given how popular the show is/was and the fact that it doesn't have anything too violent or controversial AFAIK) Lets throw in the black Lamborghini from Canonball Run, that's another must-have (but highly unlikely especially since they already did a Countach) And another pie-in-the-sky must-have would be the Chevy Lumina NASCAR from Days of Thunder.
  6. Question: How many people here have bought sets in 2022 where they wouldn't have bought that set if some or all of the parts were available on B&P? I am wondering how much (if any) extra set sales LEGO are getting because 2022 parts aren't on B&P... I for one haven't bought any set in 2022 that I would have not bought if parts in it were available on B&P. (and conversely there is no recent situation where parts from a set being available on B&P mean I didn't or wont buy a set)
  7. I wonder if we will see a Looney Tunes Series 2, the first one seems to have been very popular and there are a number of major characters that are missing (Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Pepe Le Pew and Granny at least) as well as new costumes for the top characters (e.g. Daffy as Duck Dodgers) Disney Series 3 seems like a no-brainer to me given how popular the first 2 were (and how quickly they flew off the shelves) and how many major characters have yet to be turned into minifigs (Mike and Silly from Monsters Inc, Webby from Duck Tales, some of the characters from Wreck-It Ralph, the chef from Ratatouille, the main characters from Up, Pinocchio, Cpt Hook, Tarzan, characters from Inside Out and more)
  8. I wonder if the whole "you can build 918 and 924 as well as 928 out of the parts in the set" means we get parts with 918 and 924 as well as the 928 parts...
  9. Anyone see any stickers on the Galaxy Explorer? And anyone know what windscreen that is? Is it the same as on the Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP!?
  10. No interest in the Sanctum (if I had any kind of spare money to buy a set like that I would buy either the Bugle or Thor's Hammer instead)
  11. Shut up and take my money please LEGO. Depending on how it goes, I will either be at the LEGO store at opening on day one to snag this or I will throw a pre-order into a Shop @ Home order alongside some parts from PaB to hit shipping/GWP thresholds. (or if they do show up at local retail, snag one on sale I guess :)
  12. Last year's Marvel calendar was great IMO. Neat figures (including the Tony Stark ugly sweater) plus you get a great selection of parts including the Infinity Gauntlet and all 6 Infinity stones and the trans-light-blue energy effects pack. Will reserve judgment on the 2022 Marvel calendar until I see pictures.
  13. Just finished having fun with the Missions sets. Loving how fun they are to mess with, how cool the builds are and how awesome the parts selection is. I hope we see more of them (a Fire Missions set seems like a no-brainer to me)
  14. I know for sure I snagged S1 nurse torsos from BaM long after they were discontinued. (Nurse came out in 2010, first BaM to open in Australia was 2017)
  15. I was able to get the instructions app to work by: 1.Installing the BlueStacks Android emulator on my Windows 10 PC. 2.Installing the LEGO instructions app from the Play Store inside the emulated Android system 3.Installing the Google Lens app from the Play Store inside the emulated Android system 4.Downloading the "instructions" for the Wildlife Rescue Mission set from LEGO 5.Feeding the QR code into Google Lens inside the emulated Android system and telling it to open the URL with the LEGO instructions app Doing that has gotten the Wildlife Rescue Mission instructions/play to run inside the app and I am now building the truck (bought all 3 missions sets today on sale :) Should be able to get the other 2 missions sets (space and police) going the same way but its definitely possible to get these instructions (or any QR code for the instructions app for that matter) to run on a Windows 10 PC without needing any phone at all (I have a phone but it can't run apps)
  16. I don't have a phone that can run apps. Anyone know if there is a way to get any of the build instructions for the 3 City Mission sets? Some way to run the app on my Windows 10 PC? Some other way to get at the instructions?
  17. Is there anyone here who has the new Friends giraffe and who can tell me whether it would look good next to, say, the elephants from last years City sets or whether it would look out of place or too "friendsified" to work?
  18. Picked up the Grocery Store today, really fun build.
  19. If I want to be sure of getting my order here in Australia by September (for the show that is happening) how late should I risk leaving it? I do intend to order but I want to wait as long as I can in the hope that some of the parts I want that aren't currently available return to being available (e.g. hair 18227 in black) but I don't want to leave it too late.
  20. If they put Professor X, Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, Storm, Odin, Thing, Mr Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Silver Surfer, Living Laser or Galactus in a set, shut up and take my money please. (yes I know a couple of these have been done before but they are so expensive so new ones would be nice).
  21. If they make any Australian animal, a Giraffe, a Hippo, a Gorilla or a Zebra in normal system style (not Duplo or Friends), the set that contains it will go right to the top of my list for sure.
  22. I suspect a lot of the decisions about which characters appear in sets is driven by Marvel and not LEGO.
  23. Managed to snag a full set of these today, they look great. So many wonderful parts in there as well.
  24. If they are getting more orders than they can handle, why don't they hire more people to process orders?
