  1. One thing I have heard a bit is "can't you make that from what you already have?". Its especially annoying when talking about a new set with new parts that they cant possible already have because the parts only come in that one set that has only just been released.
  2. Lucky, we have to wait until April here in Australia (something to do with Warner Bros Australia wanting to wait until the school holidays before they release the film or some BS like that)
  3. The film that really "invented" the idea of live action + animation was Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That film (unlike pretty much all the attempts that followed) actually pulled it off.
  4. I meant that the film is too violent for TLG. And the whole idea of a film with genocide as a storyline point isn't a good thing either.
  5. I suspect the reason for Wolverine and Magneto again is that they are the some of the most well-known x-men. Xavier is also well-known but there may be reasons why LEGO doesn't want to do an Xavier fig (with or without wheelchair)
  6. I cant see the UCS DeLorien winning, its too big for what it is and too similar to the current set. But unless Universal says no, I see nothing that has been said that would indicate that the BTTF train (when it hits 10k) would not be able to hit production. Its not directly competing with any existing LEGO products (Lone Ranger train is far enough gone that it wouldn't be a factor) and it complements rather than competes with the BTTF car set (I own the car set and would buy the train in a heartbeat if it actually ran on train track) Personally I think LEGO should tighten up the rules for Cuusoo a bit more. If they have specific knowledge from Lucas or their own product planning that rules out any Star Wars Cuusoo sets, they should remove all the Star Wars ideas from Cuusoo completly and not approve any new ones. Same with Disney, Marvel and Warner stuff.
  7. Nice model, dont see it being suitable for CUUSOO though (just based on the nature of the film)
  8. Nice tanker and nice combo of 2 non-space sets into a spaceship.
  9. This is an amazing creation, you got a lot of details in there.
  10. I suspect the reason they didn't use the CMF hat with the City cops is that the CMF mold probably costs more and they want to keep it exclusive to the CMFs. Same reason they haven't used the CMF baseball cap in City lines or any number of other CMF headgear. Not a very good calendar this year, we get not one but TWO cops (both identical from what I can tell), another useless generic robber, the same Santa as last year and 3 generic civilians with boring torsos that we have seen many many times before. We also get a useless dog and a bunch of boring accessories. Heck, you could probably almost build the thing just from the photo of its contents (only things I am not 100% on are the torso on the guy with the green legs, some of the hidden parts hidden behind the wall with the yellow window panes, the tool next to the grey shovel in the dark brown barrel, the trans-green thing next to the turkey, the 1 x 1 round tile in Santas hand and the 2 x 2 tile in the hand of the first cop.) Its not like previous years that included hard-to-come-by parts.
  11. Its quite possible that clearances like that at Woolies are done only in stores where they have lots of stock left that they really want to move. I know that K-Mart or Big W (or both) give managers discretionary funding to clearance items that their particular store has oversupply of and cant seem to move (including LEGO).
  12. ok, so who wants to predict the accessories that will come with this set? I am hoping the GB car comes with proton packs and guns for the guys (maybe not all 4 but at least 2 would be nice) and at least one ghost trap. I also hope that the packs/guns (if the set doesn't include all 4) don't use any impossible-to-get parts so that people can get more parts easily and build the full set of 4. Just getting a 1 x 2 tile with the yellow stripe trap printing (or even sticker) would be great. I will have to steal the trap design from the CUUSOO submission (using the tap piece as a handle) for my own "Aussie Ghostbusters" MOC.
  13. I know Spider-Man was part of the Avengers in some form in the "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" TV series (I also remember Spider-Man saving the life of Captain America...)
  14. This is amazing, really captures the image of what Google must be like.
  15. If I had thought to search Bricklink for "orange helmet" I would have found it as it is the only set to date to ever include the motorcycle helmet in orange.
  16. A Jasmine set would be awesome if done right. Think of all that middle eastern architecture (of a different style to Price of Persia if I remember last time I saw Aladdin).
  17. In that Colosseum picture, can anyone identify the orange guy near the statue of liberty, mime and wrestler guy?
  18. Looking at whats up for review next, I cant see Zelda getting up for the same reasons the other Zelda sets failed. I cant see the Adventure Time set making it either (unless the cartoon series is WAY more popular than I thought it was) Macross set is probably too hard given the wierd licensing for that whole universe in different countries and markets. Sherlock would depend on getting the licenses from BBC (and if needed the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) plus it requires rather more new minifig printings and potentially recolored parts than a Cuusoo set would seem to be able to support. And I dont know how popular the show is with the right audience (heck, even I don't watch it and I normally like detective and crime shows) My prediction is that if anything from this next round is green lit, it will be the Japanese Architecture or (if the cartoon is popular enough and Warner is willing to license) the Adventure Time set assuming it doesn't need new molds or hard to produce prints.
  19. I like the cargo train, the green rolls of what look to be electric cable of some sort (based on the warning stickers) are neat as is the cow (although the cow would have been better in any color other than brown) I like that TLG has been a lot more willing over the past few years to include bicycles in sets (and in colors other than red). Now if only they would do one in yellow... I also like that the passenger train has a sign indicating bicycles are accepted on the train. I feel that the figs in all 3 train sets are too boring (mostly because they all seem to use torsos I have too many of already). When they make new torsos for City (especially generic torsos that aren't specific to police/fire/etc), they should use them in as many sets as possible...
  20. Is this the first pickup truck that has been done in Technic?
  21. I for one WILL be buying this set no matter what, just the thought of getting the Ghostbusters and car in LEGO would be awesome. I just hope the Aussie pricing isn't as bad as it was for the BTTF set (which was more than twice as expensive as the US) They have said new parts cant be made for Cuusoo so I dont see a new mold for this I bought the BTTF set from the US Toys R Us online store (first time ever buying LEGO from outside of Australia) because they had stock and Shop @ Home didn't :)
  22. I would rather a Ghostbusters set without Murray than no GB set at all.
  23. cool, they finally do a Technic pickup truck.
  24. More musical instruments in general would be great.
  25. Hopefully the movie-bonus figs are available at theaters in Australia (that said, I have vision problems that prevent me from viewing 3D films so I probably wouldn't be able to take advantage anyway)
