  1. LEGO would never do Halo, COD or Warcraft because of the violence inherent in such games. Same with anything modern military.
  2. I just took out a lease on a new apartment and will be moving in in a week or 2. Anyone here got any advice on how to insure my LEGO under contents insurance? Is it something I should list separately? How do I figure out how much its worth? (not necessarily how much I paid but how much its actually worth) I dont want to be in a position where I have the collection under-insured (or over-insured for that matter). Counting each individual part (including those in MOCs) or each set of instructions is out of the question as I have far too much LEGO :)
  3. I really think a bus in the style of the yellow one from the City Corner set would sell very well as a stand-alone set at the same price point as the auto transporter and that airport fire truck.
  4. Far too many modern sets on that list and far too many licensed sets.
  5. Thanks for the advice, I ended up finding a cheap digital download for The LEGO Movie game :)
  6. Bricklink is definatly the best record of the animals that exist. Its also probably the best place to buy those animals you dont have but want for your project :)
  7. Where is the best (i.e. cheapest) place to get The Lego Movie game on PC from?
  8. The 3-for-2 at MYER is the best way to go if there are 3 items at the same price point that you are interested in. If you just want one item, Target is best. Best thing to do is what I do, go to a place that has both a Target and a MYER, look at whats in stock at both and figure out what you want.
  9. Why is it that the good sales only seem to happen AFTER I have bought things that are now cheaper? :(
  10. Is the Mars Rover any good? A little tempted but I suspect I could probably just build it from the parts I already have in my collection...
  11. Seeing the pictures makes me even more excited for the Spaceship. And maybe I might end up getting the Construct-O-Mech too. Still have zero interest in the Dropship (like all the other Super Secret Police vehicles, they just dont appeal to me)
  12. I think after the amount I have already spent on TLM sets and the fact that Metalbeard isn't that great as a set, I might have to say no to getting one :)
  13. I paid less for both Lord Business and Cloud Cuckoo at MYER thanks to the extra 10% off for MYER One members. Big W looks better for the 2 x small sets and for those vehicle sets MYER aren't discounting (castle one, flying flusher) but MYER with the 10% off deal for MYER-one is still cheaper on all the other sets. Anyone know how long the MYER One 10% offer lasts for? (I am sorely tempted to go back and add Metalbeard to my collection and the current sale+10% off is the cheapest you can get him anywhere, not sure when I will be going back to MYER though)
  14. Ok so I have the Cloud Cuckoo Palace, Ice Cream Machine, Lord Business' Evil Lair, The Flying Flusher, Creative Ambush and Rescue Reinforcements plus Gail, Lincoln, Larry, Shakespeare, Taco Tuesday Guy, Where Are My Pants? Guy, President Business, Hard Hat Emmet and Scribble Face Bad Cop from the CMFs line. I am also intending to get the spaceship when it comes out. Which other sets should I buy if I want to have all the main characters in the movie? I saw the movie today but it went by so fast that I cant remember which characters got enough screen time to be considered "main characters". Already have Batman from previous sets so I dont see any reason to buy the drop-ship just to get him.
  15. If there is a movie out there that has more of a "I gotta go buy tie-in merchandise having seen this film" factor than The LEGO Movie I haven't seen it. Went to see the movie then promptly went to MYER to pick up Lord Business Lair and Cloud Cuckoo Land :) And I doubt I am the only one in here who has combined a LEGO Movie trip with LEGO purchases... :)
  16. And I thought my not-seen-in-any-set 2 x 2 round plates in trans-clear were cool, that's nothing compared to some of the drool-worthy parts in these pictures, especially the not-seen-in-any-set part shapes (most of which I suspect are prototypes that didn't get far enough to be turned into an actual mold for a full production run)
  17. Nice base, are the computer decorations custom stickers or are they from a set? As for re-makes, one of these days I want to do a modern version of the Ice Planet sets (my favorite space theme)
  18. Amazing space ship, really captures the feeling of Classic Space.
  19. Been a while since I have built anything Space. And I do want a Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP. But I dont know if I will have the time to build anything (or the inspiration to come up with a potentially-winning idea given the caliber of Space builders on this site)
  20. Great job, I hope that if LEGO ever does a Professor X in a set, we get the wheelchair version and not the hover chair or other variants as the wheelchair version is the version most classically associated with the character.
  21. Seems like the answer is to import one from overseas (if you can find a way to import one from the states, you will save a fortune even if postage ends up being massive)
  22. I dont think that came in a set, I think it was just made separately. It has stickers from too many themes to be something that came in an actual set.
  23. Not a bad representation of the source material (although the source material isn't the best looking car in the world :)
  24. Now all I gotta do is convince Event Cinemas to sell me a polybag without me having to buy the combo (not that I dont buy movie candy bar food, just that these combos always have popcorn in them and I dont eat popcorn). I dont mind buying candy bar other food (e.g. sodas, lollies, choc top, whatever) to get it though :) That said, the only thing in that polybag that's anything other than generic is the Emmet figure and the piece of resistance, both of which can also be picked up via the Cloud Cuckoo Palace or the Getaway Glider (although Getaway Glider Emmet has a different head I think) so it might be easier to just buy one of those and re-create the polybag from my collection :)
  25. Its Shop @ Home only right now but if previous years are an indication, it will probably show up at David Jones later in the year.
