  1. Nice job, love the anvil on the hardware store. I need to find the time and inspiration to build my Masters Hardware store (among other MOCs I have or had plans to build but never did)
  2. I could have sworn someone saw dark red "brick" bricks in a prelim picture although I cant find the mention of it now.
  3. Went to Garden City today to check out the new MYER store. The LEGO section is ly better than Loganholme but Brisbane CBD is still the best/most well stocked option. Toys R Us had specific signage up stating in no uncertain terms that they will NOT sell the promotional sets separately and that you only get ONE set for every $100 you spend. I suspect TRU head office has been yelling at those stores who are selling the sets separately and having the signs made and put up so employees can just point to the sign and you dont have people arguing with them about it.
  4. http://cncmods.net/files/windmill.lxf is the windmill done in LDD. I couldn't get the angled side plates to line up exactly (correct angle for the lower hinge, correct angle for the upper hinge and correct placement of the octagonal piece but it should be obvious how they fit.
  5. Will see what I can do about an LDD File of the windmill
  6. A few months ago my grandpa passed away (one of those diseases old people get, obviously not going to go into details in a public forum) At the time I decided that I would build a tribute out of LEGO as a way to remember him. It took a while to actually complete it and even longer to get around to photographing it but I have finally uploaded photos. My grandpa loved the Australian bush (he used to run a sheep station out near Broken Hill and there is still a family connection to the area even today with my uncle running Boorungie station). This scene represents the sheep station with a windmill water pump, trough, pig pen and chicken coop. He loved his sheep, he loved his horses and he loved his dogs. The scene depicts all 3 (the lamb is the closest thing LEGO makes to a sheep that is a suitable size for the project). It also depicts a dirt bike (motorbikes were very much a part of life on the station, at least from my memories of it as a kid) and the all-important rain gauge (rain is the lifeblood of the land out that way and they need all they can get). He also loved all things mechanical so I have chosen to depict grandpa working on the water pump with an oilcan in his hand (and a radio for talking back to the homestead to make sure there was a nice cold beer waiting for him when he got back from a hard days work) Sheering time is always an important time on the station and grandpa was just as much at home in the wool shed as he was out in the paddocks. Here I have re-created a portion of the shearing shed down on the station, complete with shearers, sorting table and wool press. In the bush, the Flying Doctor is the lifeline to the outside world for any medical emergencies. I have built a re-creation of a Flying Doctor aircraft complete with pilot, doctor and medical equipment (hard to see but it is there packed in behind the doctor): This is an attempt to re-create the Jeep grandpa used to drive around the station, complete with a dog in the back and some tools as well as his stock whip and some fencing wire as well as the all-important 2-way radio. This is a replica of a wool truck with bales of wool on the back: The other thing my grandpa really loved was cricket, he would get so grumpy if anyone got in the way when he was watching it. Since LEGO doesn't produce a cricket bat, I have had to come up with my own way of replicating one. The baseball cap is meant to represent the baggy green hats that the Australian cricketers wear (it should be dark green but LEGO doesn't make a dark green hat) Apologies that the photos aren't the best quality, I dont have a fancy digital SLR or a fancy light box, just a pair of IKEA coffee tables and a Canon point & shoot. Oh and if anyone wants me to produce LDD re-creations of any of the parts of this scene, let me know and I will see what I can do.
  7. Based on the massive quantities of LEGO I saw being unpacked at Mr Toys Loganholme yesterday I dont think there is any shortage :)
  8. Picked up my Series 12 from Mr Toys Loganholme today. K-Mart also had them but they wanted $5 compared to the $4 Mr Toys wanted so it was a no-brainer to buy from Mr Toys :) Got 4 x pizza guys, 2 x rock stars, 2 x video gamers, wizzard, hunter with bow, life guard and jester. That likely takes care of my LEGO spending for the rest of the year I suspect (except possibly some small Bricklink orders if I need parts for any MOCs)
  9. Except that the roof piece in question doesn't exist in blue. People were excited because its a new color (just like people got excited about the prelims showing new colors for the "brick" brick that appear to have disappeared from the final sets.
  10. What price is K-Mart charging for these? RRP?
  11. Am I likely to pick up S12 cheaper than RRP anytime soon or should I just buy them at RRP?
  12. Not sure but from those pictures it looks like the new colors of "brick" brick we saw in the prelims are not in the final pictures (unless they are in the sets we dont have final pictures of yet).
  13. Which Mr Toys was this that you saw Series 5 at?
  14. I am sure they will release the hold, if they dont do it soon, just contact customer service.
  15. I just love these robots and love the way you have thought just like a set designer, this looks so good you could almost (if it was presented right) pass it off as a real set.
  16. Its possible that it was offered up as a retailer exclusive but no retailer was interested (e.g. based on sales of the previous X-Men set with that ugly helicopter and the motorbike)
  17. My favorite thing about the Exo-Suit is that it contains basically ZERO large parts. The only parts in the set that even come close to being "large" would be the grille plate, the flexible hose and the brick separator. Not to mention all the exclusive or rare parts in the thing. And those green astronauts (I have wanted green air tanks for years and I finally have them)
  18. A few sightings reported on other forums e.g. "Kmart Northcote Plaza" and "K-Mart moonee ponds". So they are out there. Some retailers (e.g. MYER) may be holding back their stock until after their current sales finish.
  19. Yes I am an Aussie and a LEGO Ute is something I wish they would make (in fact, I need to take some photos of my LEGO Ideas project which includes a Ute as part of the idea :)
  20. My #1 wish would be a Lamborghini convertible, maybe an aventador or gallardo. Has to be yellow though. Next wish (but wont happen due to the real car being discontinued soon and due to most people never having heard of it) would be a HSV Maloo Ute. Also, a Tesla Roadster would be epic. As would any of a number of cool-looking cars from the Lotus workshops.
  21. Yes I think a thread specifically for people to nominate parts in new colors would be great. Rules for the posts would need to be established, i.e.: No licensed parts to be nominated (as LEGO can't just decide to make e.g. a Star Wars head piece in a new color just because they want to) Only parts that are still active (so no nominating old discontinued parts) and Only colors that are still active (so no old grey or old brown) Both parts that previously existed in a color but are now not available and parts that have never existed in a color would be eligible (but not parts that are still being made in a given color in current sets) I myself have a list of about 50 such part-color combos I would like to see :)
  22. More CMF sportspeople would be great, so many things they could do. Golfer. Cricketer. Basketball player. Table tennis player. Pool/snooker player. Athlete (just a generic track/field athlete possibly with e.g. a javelin or shot put or discus or whatever) And no the Team GB figs dont count, they were promotional items not available to most of the world.
  23. That motorbike transport looks cool, it looks like there is a new faring piece for the bike that makes it look more "sporty" which I like.
  24. Picked up my purple S3 Mixels today from Mr Toys Southport.
  25. Remember that the CMFs are made in a different factory. That factory has probably not yet used up the mold with the cross underside.
