  1. Due to other things that required my attention, I didn't even start besides just some ideas brewing. I was planning to build something this weekend and see how far I would get before it's locked on monday, but a week or 2 extension might be nice. Assuming I'd even be able to get the stuff I want working :)
  2. Yup, all of them got 4 motors. Drive, steer, lift and tilt. It's quite fun little compact packages this way. It was the best solution to get the required height (minimum is 20 studs of lift). Alternatives didn't get the required height or were more bulky. Barman and Mahj use a similar boom (Mahj's design) and Jovlem and me use a similar boom (I copied his, but modified it a little).
  3. I was thinking of perhaps using 2 city hubs and put them in the legs. Would solve the weight problem for the most of it when transforming. That transformer from Nico71 is quite a benchmark I must say. Amazing work.
  4. No worries, I thought you meant that you would rather see the regular type of trailers. Thanks for the compliment
  5. Such a mechanism is actually in place on our ramps after this video, but thanks for the suggestion. Not sure I fully understand this comment, but to be clear: Out of all the people who build a trailer so far, I am the only one who made a steering mechanism on the trailer. The others (like all in the video) have a "simple regular trailer". I added the feature mostly because it seems to compensate my crappy trailer steering skills
  6. I was at this event where the video was made and was inspired to also make the complete set. I am afraid I don't have a video at the moment, since the phone I am using normally for video's is also the one I need to run the brickcontroller 2 app. A video might come at some point, but for now the pictures will have to do. 20211121_125112 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_125147 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124129 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124334 by Appie NL, on Flickr And a couple of detail shots: 20211121_124630 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124653 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124718 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124819 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_123926 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_123952 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_124023 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_125313 by Appie NL, on Flickr 20211121_125348 by Appie NL, on Flickr My trailer also has counter steering on both axles. If I lower the struts, it straightens itself out which makes hooking the trailer to the truck easier Here's a video how it works:
  7. In my defense: it is secondary in my plan. I don't want to drag this out, Jim/Eurobricks doesn't want it in the rules and that's the end of it, but felt a need to at least mention this.
  8. Oh yeah, I forgot about that glorious machine. Not sure I would use it myself, since that mechanism takes alot of space, not a very good starting point when I wanted to keep it small.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, but I need 4 functions from those 2 motors though, not just 3. And combining them doesn't really work since they have to do very specific things without affecting the other 2 functions. But it is fine, I'll see what I do.
  10. Ok, here's the plan I have: 2 motors and a gearbox. Gearbox switch left: drive and steer Gearbox switch right: transformation and walking. Since steering manual is an option as you said it was, we could consider the "transformation and walking" state the default. Remote controlled core functionality: check. The other state would be a bonus that when if I flip the switch, the drive and steer would be remote controlled too instead of just manual. I could make it bigger with a Technic hub and add a 3rd motor for the transformation and have the transformation switch the functions, but I want to build it smaller if the rules allow it
  11. The core functionality would be remotely controlled in my plan. Think of it as the gearbox of the 8043. Except where that has an extra motor to switch between 3 functions, I would have only that switch be manual. 2 functions on one side and 2 on the other. That scenario still a no-go?
  12. Hmmm, I had an idea to use 2 motors with a manual flip between 4 functions, one of which will be the transformation of course. A third motor means I can't use the small PUp hub with only 2 ports and have to use the big bulky Control+ hub, which also means additional weight. Any chance to reconsider? If not, all good of course.
  13. Looking forward to seeing more of this. I remember similar challenges when I made my F1 car in Red Bull colours. Iirc at one point I had to adjust the rear suspension since it sagged a little too much under the weight of the car (1,7kg). Luckily had space for an easy fix: change a 3L liftarm to 4ish (2x4 L-liftarm). My suspension geometry was slightly different from yours and I think yours can handle more weight, which the bodywork, v12 and gearbox will probably need.
  14. I use this app with 1 of my MOCs with this hub and noticed similar issues trying to calibrate a medium lineair motor (# 88008, not the basic PUp M-motor, but the 6x4 studs on top which afaik can be used as a servo, unlike the basic M-motor). Until now I thought it was in the motor not working with the software, but perhaps it's something with the hub, since you have the same issue with a L-motor. I could test it later with Technic hub like you, but what I did notice with the M-motor is that it can do angles perfectly when I set the motor as "steppermotor" instead of as a "servo motor" in the brickcontroller 2 app settings. Once I set it as a servo it would turn further to the right than the left for example (similar to your video). Maybe it's a little bug in imurvai's great software or there's another issue which he simply can't fix due to Lego's stuff? So far I settled on using the "steppermotor" setting.
  15. As suggested before: the tractor tires from the Jeep for the front and Zetros for the rear not an option? I understand the Zetros would be a little hard at this time since it's just released, but was just wondering if you considered them at some point in the future. I personallly don't mind the old wheels, but I think those new ones would work pretty well on this model.
  16. How about this part? Combined with 2L LBG pin and LBG 1L liftarm as modern take on the old wheel? Model looks great, just wondering: you going to keep these wheels or swapping them later for modern ones?
  17. I like where this is going, nice work. The minifig is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while and the buggy is coming along great too. Perhaps this is already on your to-do list, but I'd love to see the minifig get an actual face. I am not sure which part is the current yellow parts in your digital build, but like your space logo being brick build (which is my preference as well instead of a sticker), I'd hope it is doable with parts as well for the face.
  18. Sorry, it isn't available and I am not making instructions for it.
  19. I remember Jeroen Ottens asking the car manufacturer for permission to label his MOC as <car brand X> and <car brand x> was like: nope. So ya, MOC designers own nothing. Some do give permission of course, some even give jobs to well known MOCers to build one (some ship scale models come to mind). Personally I once got a request on Flickr from some Chinese company (not sure which) if I wanted to make a set out of my Rolls-Royce Phantom. I declined.
  20. I could also start about how this topic almost completely turned into a "Sian delivery status update" thread instead of talking about the actual model itself if you want?
  21. Perhaps, but what is adequate? Lego is working in unknown territory at the moment due to Covid-19. Lego sales have been booming since Covid-19 hit. Any estimates they make have a high risk of being inadequate. Perhaps they upped their estimates and production for this set and there is more available at launch than the Chiron or the Porsche. We don't know and we will probably never know. Releasing a set until it's "adequate" in these times, could mean a half year delay before they release it. I doubt you'd want that. Another possibility is that Lambo wants the set out now and this is the the best Lego could do in production and distribution in this time frame with Covid-19, we don't know. Nope, I considered going to the Lego Store on June 1st, but thought it was closed due to a national holiday and apparently completely missed the boat as it was out of stock the next day. So I'll probably pick it up in august or something.
  22. Since you have spent about 3 posts about this now in the last few pages, let's see: 1. There's a worldwide pandemic. 2. There's a Lego factory closed in Mexico due to this pandemic. 3. Lego has to ship sets from their factories in Europe and Asia to provide at least some sets to the USA. 4. These factories in Asia and Europe are also bound by regulations to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. Even the parts that are automated (and luckily for you alot is at Lego), there is still a limit how much they can upscale production. 5. Actually shipping them is also bound by similar regulations in that logistics sector. Not to mention these are sets that usually don't take this route since the USA would usually get these sets from the factory in Mexico. So it's extra cargo they have to plan. 6. This is nothing like the Porsche that got pulled from production shortly after release due to the box messing up the instruction booklet. 7. There have been plenty of sets in the past, without Covid-19 that were out of stock on the first day it went up for sale. Many Ideas sets come to mind, but also some UCS sets (same ballpark as the Lambo). 8. I understand you're upset, but it isn't the end of the world. It isn't a limited edition, they haven't stopped production, they just can't meet demand right now. You can't give me any valid reason you need the set right now unless you intend to find the cure for Covid-19 with it. You want it right now yes, but you don't need it. To want something and having a tantrum about when you can't get it, is something a kid would do and not an adult.
  23. No you didn't. Instead you make assumptions about why the other person purchased 2 to fit with your view. You could also try to look at the bigger picture and not blame the guy that bought 2 or Lego (Wimmer), but actually deal with the fact that this situation is new for Lego as well with a closed factory in Mexico and having to ship sets to the USA from European and/or the Asian factory that would normally come from the factory in Mexico. Lego's options aren't infinite, especially in these times due to Covid-19. I'd urge you to take this advice:
