Keep the fire extinguisher ready for that lamp shade. :-/

I was thinking, I keep trying to collect a lot of parts in one color or another, to accumulate a lot of pieces to actually build some of my own ideas. I try to find sets that seem to fit that bill. Like lots of tan brick in the Simpson's House set, or lots of dark orange in the Town Hall set. But then, you get it and realize, like in the Kwik-E Mart or the Simpson's House, that a large portion of them are actually large panel pieces and the majority of the high part count are small and pretty specific parts, like 1x1 round plates or the like. Its nice to have a lot of those small parts, but they have limited usefulness for me. I mostly just want to build buildings. Buying building sets like the Classic line doesn't really work, since they only give you a few of each of a lot of colors. You end up having to resort to BrickLink or other resale sites to gather what you need together. That gets pricey pretty fast. I think it kind of stifles my creativity too, because I keep having to make compromises in what I want to do, because of the cost/time it takes to do it. LDD is nice, I can have free rein there, just don't expect to build a lot of what I dream up. Oh well, keep on building!

Oh yes, that is close, but with tan doors at each end. Not sure yet about using a blue or dark gray base. It's all still in my head.

I am trying to collect the parts to make a couple of these cars...I am thinking of using dark purple, and light bley and tan.... stop laughing... :-)

^Yea, I wonder how they get them early... :^)

I got mine powered up today, it works quite well, not too fast, not too slow. I had to borrow the battery box from one of my trains though, they are backordered on S@H...seems like its all the time! My local store never has any in stock either...kind of annoying!

Ah ok, that makes sense. My other thought was it was for a possible add-on polybag like the balloon cart or flower cart in the past.

I got the Spiderman jumper, its a $50 min order to get it. I have a question, for anyone who has built their Ferris Wheel. On the ice cream stand, what is the second 1x1 side clip part for? There isn't anything attached to it, far as I can tell from the instructions. Its behind the clip that holds the umbrella to the stand.

The Changing Seasons set is available now on S@H USA, I just bought one. You get a free Spiderman jumper with $50 or more purchase. Gee, the CS set is $49.99.. LOL, I got one other thing to get over the additional 1 cent..

The seller's solution for me was to refund for the missing parts, it would of cost them a lot more to send them to me. So we will just move on, I won't ever go to their store again, though. I have never had to use the NSS or NRS options either, and am glad I didn't have to this time. I do know that I have some good and reliable sellers as well, and will try to stick with them as much as I can. This all probably sounds pretty petty to others, but after waiting for 2 weeks, and stalling the project I am working on, I just wanted to vent a little. I am just not going to give any feedback for them instead of retaliating with a neutral or negative, and am pretty sure they won't leave me any either.

My gosh, its been 13 days now, and I finally got a reply from this person with my BL order. I get a not too believable excuse for the huge delay, and that they sent out my order. Well, I got it today and (big surprise) there is a mistake. One item is completely missing from it. I have really had enough. I do everything right, pay right away, am polite, and for some reason, get treated like this. I can't help but think its intentional. I keep seeing them get all positive feedback and all of them say how fast they got their orders... I think this is going to be my first Negative feedback for a seller. I don't want to, but I think it really deserves it.

Your entire collection (sets only) when you were a kid

I wish I could remember which earliest sets I had, they were all of the Universal Building Set variety (late '60's). Everything was in a big cardboard box, the original boxes long gone. I had a lot nearly all red or white, along with one large green baseplate. Later, I got a few sets (early '70's), which I still have in their original boxes, they are the brick yard (580) and fire house (570) and one more Universal set (400). I also remember my grandmother got me a truck set. It was blue with a tractor and trailer. That ended up mixed in the big box. By the time I got the later sets though, I was less and less interested, and I guess entering my 'dark ages' which lasted up until about 2012, when I saw and bought a Robie House...and then, in 2014 uh oh... ;-) -
My Lego store clerks were telling me if I was going to move it around a lot to buy a 48 x 48 base plate to use instead of the 16 x 16's it comes with, but I didn't. They said it would fall apart moving it. I have picked it up a few times and it seems pretty stable. You are stuck with gray as the only choice for a 48 x 48 too, which changes the look a lot.

I kind of prefer the original doors too, they have the plank pattern on them and are the thinnest possible way of doing it.

The Ferris Wheel set didn't get shown till about 2 weeks before it was released this week, so I guess if they want to, they can keep a lid on a new set.

Was anyone else able to find the battery box for sale at their Lego store? I tried but they had nothing at my store. I got a free shipping card instead. Online though, in the USA the battery box is not available till mid June! Luckily, I can borrow one from one of my trains to run the motor. I didn't want to invest in the $80 needed to buy the rechargable box and charger...

^You're right, thats how they do it. I went down yesterday and bought a Ferris Wheel, and they were on the shelf, I think just had a tag saying VIP, or something. They asked me if I had the VIP membership and offered to sign me up if I didn't so could buy it.

I was wrong, they gave me a Han Solo (Hoth)

I just got home with a copy, they seemed to have plenty to sell at my closest Lego store. They gave me the Star Wars free minifig too, even though I didn't buy any SW :-) They were telling me and other people buying the set that if I want to be able to move it in one piece, I should get a 48x48 baseplate to put it on. The as built, is in several base plates and they fall apart easily if you try to pick it up. No power functions to sell, told me to get them online, and gave me a free shipping card. I already have the parts though could use another battery box.

Haha, cheapest in USA is about 60 cents..

So is everyone going to rush out and pick one up tomorrow? I was going to go to my local store, I wonder if there will be a rush on this. I have the parts to motorize it when I get one.

Yuck, dog smell would be bad. Airing out does help, for sure. Up till now, I have not had too much trouble with smells and dirt. Some parts that are used have arrived with sticky stuff, but I have been able to clean it off. Sticker residue can be hard to clean, but its doable. I really try to stick to new parts, but you can't help it when some parts are only available as used.

OK all you BrickLinkers, admit it, you have purchased some Lego from someone, and they arrive, and you open the package to be greeted by a really bad smell. Usually its tobacco aroma, but sometimes, who knows what that is! I find that only the sellers that don't smoke say so, and the ones that do, don't see anything wrong with it. But...oh.. it can be pretty bad. I got an order yesterday, and even the post box smelled. I opened the package and whew, I had to open a window. It was a mixture of smells, tobacco smoke and maybe some sort of cleaner smell... Well, I took all the parts and put them in a sink full of water and some mild soap and let them soak. By the end of the day, they didn't smell anymore, I got lucky. Anybody else have any stories to tell?

Really nice job, I like it a lot. I am in the process of dreaming up a train station too, not this size, but its fun to see other ideas!

I was wondering about this too. I haven't ever gotten anything early this way either. I was figuring they keep them in the back during the early access time? So have to ask for it and then they will bring out out for you.
